Mercurio's Shadyside

Amazing traditional pizza. Very similar to traditional Italian you find in Italy, personal size and delicious fluffy crust. The Pistachio White sauce pizza was amazing. Such an interesting blend of flavors that really works, pistachio pieces, fresh mozzarella and burrata, and ham. The house pizza came with a big pile of arugula and a couple thin sliced pieces of prosciutto. Under it all, it tasted like a regular tomato sauce pizza.Like other reviews, it is busy and small, but the food is worth it.

Mercurio's is a neighborhood and pittsburgh classic! Excellent, fresh ingredients and delicious offerings. We got a house salad and the prosciutto and burrata to share. Both were good! Nothing special but very fresh. The pizzas are really where Mercurio's shines. We got the Diavola and the Lasagna and both were great. Brick oven pizza with incredible crust and fresh, high quality toppings. Very basic service, but kind. We arrived at 5:45ish on Friday night and got one of the last available tables but we were shoved in a corner with almost no exit out of it. No emergency egress. The spacing in the restaurant is not great. Not handicap accessible inside. Especially not the bathroom.

Mercurio's is a Walnut street staple! As someone who eats gluten free, I'm grateful they have amazing homemade gluten free pizza. I believe they have a separate oven for GF (although still risk of cross contamination from dough tossing for folks with Celiac). The restaurant has a small footprint, so tables are close together. The service is kind and efficient. In addition to pizza, they have beer/wine and gelato!

I've been to the Fox chapel location a few times. First time here. The smoked mozzarella margherita pie was delicious, and I enjoyed the gelato as always. I enjoyed the mom and pop vibe of the Fox chapel location a bit more though. Fox chapel was eager to let you sample the gelatos before buying whereas this location had a sign against it. Staff very friendly but they told me if I wanted gelato before my check then go to counter to order. My table was then taken and replaced so I had to eat outside in the cold and pay at the counter. It was more cramped for space here and felt like you were being rushed out to turn the tables around...which I understand to an extent. But for that reason I'll stick to fox chapel

Got some takeout and on the way to the register to order is the selection of gelato which means I definitely got dessert before dinner. The gelato is good and they price by the weight of it. The pizza has a very thin, soft crust and a delicious sauce. This was my second attempt at eating here and it's always packed!

Really awesome pies! Thin, but that's what I like and that's their cooking style. Awesome pizza. Delicious toppings, their sausage is SO good. Just a really traditional Italian style pie that you are sure to loveThe employees are also very kind and friendly.

The pizza was delicious! As a someone who does not fancy pizza often, this was pretty good. The service was friendly and fast, I would definitely come again to try different flavors/dishes.

My favorite pizza place. The pizza is so good and much better made with the freshest ingredients because I can eat an entire one without feeling bloated. The restaurant is a little small so I recommend visiting during lunch in a weekday. The pizzas come in one size, about a medium but they are so worth it. Service is fast, and very kind. And they have gelato for dessert!

My husband and I were looking for something a bit different, so we thought we'd try Mercurio's. We'd heard that the place is small and can get quite crowded, so we went during a less busy time. The Capricciosa pizza was good, however this place (at least the Shady side location) is better known for their gelatos. And what gelatos they are!. I tried the Black Forest and it was outstanding! I'm a type-1 diabetic who's blessed/cursed with a sweet tooth, so as I used to say in my old reviews, pump that insulin Susan, pump!

Really excellent Neapolitan pizza in a homey space. Everything on their menu is amazing, but my absolute favorite thing on their menu is the Bianca. They add tomato slices and so much garlic and it's just such a good combination with the chewy thin dough. The pizzas are always fast to come out after you order so there's never too long of a wait once you're seated, but getting seated does often take a while since the space is pretty small and it's a really popular spot. Don't miss out on their gelato either -- there are always so many fun flavors and you can get multiple in a single cup to try more flavors. It's the perfect sweet treat to end off the meal!
