Mel’s Petit Café

My daughter and I were excited to try this place out after the countless times we've passed by. Unfortunately, this was a "one and done," for us. Perhaps we didn't order the right things, but based on what we did have, the quality/flavor/value of everything did not add up well.LA CAPRESE: (2/5)The buckwheat galette flavor was a miss for us. it overwhelmed the taste of the rest of the ingredients. my daughter and I ate everything else in it and left the crepe part out.LE PROSCIUTTO MOZZA: (2/5)This sounds good and fancy right??? i was really excited about this. imagine my surprise/shock when i see it get pulled out of the refrigerator, pre-made (wrapped in cellophane) and just put on the panini maker. i would expect something like this to get made to order, but i guess not.SERVICE: (2/5)we went during brunch, which was pretty busy. it took a little over 30 minutes for us to get these 2 items to-go. there was one person making all of the crepes, which was nice to see them being made fresh, but it was longer than i was anticipating, especially for what these were.

Cute café located in Mt. Lebanon.  Their galettes and crepes are made to order, and they use the freshest ingredients.  Offering both sweet and savory.  They do not take reservations, they are first come, first serve.  Order at the counter and grab a table! They have a coffee bar with delicious lattes.  All of their syrups are made in house! Tried their Sugar Cookie latte and it was magical! Also had their La Benne Resolution which is egg white, spinach, sautéed mushrooms, tomatoes, red onion and tomatoes with a balsamic glaze drizzle. Can't wait to head back and try more!!!

Quaint little café that serves up sweet and/or savoury crêpes. My choice, La Bergère, was beautifully presented with a side salad. Delicious mix of buckwheat galette, turkey, fresh spinach, crumbled goat cheese, and honey. The staff were friendly and the food came out soon after I ordered. The café is a somewhat small split level but is nicely decorated with more seating than I expected. I'm looking forward to another visit to try the sweet crêpes!

Cute cozy cafe with yummy, fresh crepes! I got the caprese, which had fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and pesto and it was very good and filling. Also got the sugar cookie latte which was festive without being overly sweet. Came with a group and my food came out much later than the others but I think it was because we did not all order at once and they make the crepes fresh. Kid friendly too with a high chair available and changing table in women's restroom. One downside is the parking situation, on a Saturday had to park a block away and sidewalks were icy.

Cute creperie!!! Mel's Petite Cafe is a counter service cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Went there on a Saturday morning and had the savory La Béchamel (ham and cheese) and the sweet Tutti Frutti ( berry mix with fruit drizzle and whipped cream). Both crepes were made with buckwheat and fresh ingredients. It felt like a decadent treat. I highly recommend.

The food is wonderful, especially the crepes. Great if you want to grab something to go; or there is a nice seating area if you want to stick around. It is a little small a little challenging though for larger parties (more than 6 people).

I really wanted to leave a 5 star review, but poor business decisions prevented me from doing so. A friend and I stopped in for lunch, as I was searching the area for an authentic Croque monsieur.I ordered one and although it took a little while to prepare and was on the small side, it was still delicious and worth the wait.My dining companion ordered a panini and was very satisfied. Here is my issue...I purchased an iced tea along with my meal. They offered 3 sizes of beverages and I asked if they offer refills and was told "yes", so I chose a small. Why pay for a large when they offer refills.The small iced tea was $3.50 or so, rather pricey for a basic iced tea ( not flavored or infused).I went to the counter after finishing my drink and asked for a refill, I was told there would be a charge. I have never experienced a charge for an iced tea refill anywhere I have dined. This policy unfortunately has cost them my business, as I don't plan on returning.On a side note I asked the server for a straw and she said they do not have them. I inquired why and she said " well you know because of the environment".How is this logical? They have plastic cups with plastic lids. If they are so concerned about the environment why not have paper cups or paper straws.They may have delicious food, but they fail in business department.

Great food, and service. Mel's Petit Cafe is definitely petite, with a few tables on the main floor and more tables and seats downstairs. It does get cold downstairs but they have some space heaters that patrons can move around.The main menu is on the chalkboard wall, and our group got la complete, la bergere, and la nordique. They also sell some baked goods. All dishes were great, comes with a small side salad and I would get any one of them again. They were all savory, light and delicious. Coffee was also very good.There is only street parking available that is limited.

Not sure why it took me so long to stop into this place but what a gem! Lattes are amazing, I dream of them! And the crepes are delicious. I tried the Caprese one so far- 10/10! Also need to mention, their music was on point and the vibe was great.

Extremely rude service. We called in advance to check the hours. We arrived 30m before the confirmed close time with the intent of ordering to go coffees. A staff member saw us and then went into the restrooms to gather trash which she left in the dining room floor. We waited another minute to give our order and she continues to ignore us and other customers. We had no choice but to leave.
