Coming from Southern California to Pittsburgh we found this place by chance. The city of Pittsburgh has some restrictions on alcohol purchases. Well, that's what led us here. Night 1 we went in looking for the drink that turns us into super humans. While there we realized they also served food. HOLY CRACKERS BATMAN! I got a Black & Bleu burger and it literally was absolutely freakin delicious. The bacon thick and crispy, greens nice and fresh, the burger super juicy and the Bleu cheese OMG so dang good. If I ever come back to Pittsburgh this is definitely my 1st stop!

Ate at the new place which is located in the building that used to house the Getaway cafe. Still has limited menu, but most items where decent, some outdoor seating available. Not impressed with the food, but not disappointed. Will continue to support this start up while they work out the kinks and hopefully grow. You should too.

Visited here a few nights ago for a pumpkin craft beer tasting and hotdog samples! This was my first time visiting the establishment: they have couches and bar chairs to catch a game on tv, a small menu of fun creative hot dogs, and two long rows of coolers with beer and other alcoholic beverages from all parts of the globe! During the sampling we were able to try: Pumking, Jack-O-Traveler (my favorite), Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin Ale, Wild Hog Pumpkin Ale, Block House Brewery Pumpkin Ale, Sam Adams 20 Pounds of Pumpkin, and Terrapin Pumpkinfest! The hotdogs I got to sample were: All-American (my favorite), Kansas City BBQ, and Frito Chili Cheese Dog! All of the choices were excellent and very creative. I enjoyed that they spent the extra time making the different combinations and what a better food to have with beer! Yum! The best part is that Bill and the other gentleman who run this store are very friendly, helpful, and outgoing. They are knowledgeable of what is in the store and would probably take suggestions if there's something you'd like to see there. This place is definitely worth a visit: come on in, build a six pack to your liking, grab a dog, and hang out if you'd like! You will wish you had come here sooner to try out the extensive selection they offer!!

McNeilly Beer (located next to Amel's) doesn't look like much from the outside; basic strip mall storefront. Inside however, is a miniature craft beer oasis. The shop offers six and 12 packs to go as well as "mix your own six packs". Cold single bottle selections of craft and a wide variety of imports. Making your own six pack allows you to try that beer you have heard about but don't want to invest in a whole pack before trying it. Making a six pack also has an added bonus - 20% off!!! You will also find unique bombers (22 oz bottles). If you aren't sure what you want or might like, the staff is very helpful and knowledgable. There is a small selection of drafts that you can order and enjoy while you shop. Hot dogs are also served. They are very big dogs and very good tasting. There are several "pre-designed" dogs but you are welcome to create your own. Snacks (chips , pretzels, and candy) are available as well as soda. It is non-smoking, quiet enough to talk, and there are three TVs if you need something on while you enjoy a beer and a dog. The place is a little too bright, but overall; a solid alternative to a smokey, loud bar. While you can't smoke inside, cigars and cigarettes are available. ATM, lottery, and restrooms are available. Credit/ debit cards are accepted.

McNeilly Beer...Another mediocre bottle shop in the Pittsburgh area. Has a nice selection of Belgian beers and craft beers. Prices for their Belgian beers are a bit on the high side, as if they are not available anywhere else however they are. Generally for $1.00 to $1.50 less per bottle. However when buying by the bottle, don't expect bargain basement pricing. If the bottles are coated in dust though that means they're not moving. They offer several draft beers which the rotate pretty often. Evidently they serve food, which are Hot Dogs as that is how their liquor license was issued. I think I'll pass on the hot dogs.Generally I pop in if I'm at Amel's to look if the have any interesting brews. Lately it's been the same with nothing new and the same layers of dust.

They have a HUGE selection or craft beers and the staff is very knowledgeable and can't help point you in the right direction! They have the biggest selection of pumpkin beers I've ever seen! You can make your own 6 pack so you can try different things and buy beers individually. You can also drink beers in house and try their hotdogs!

I've been here a bunch of times, but last night they hosted a pumpkin beer tasting - complete with hot dog tastings! We tasted 8 beers and Alex, who was a great host, gave us some detail about the brewery and the beer for each one. The hot dogs were really surprisingly good - my favorite would have been the Kansas City with bbq sauce, French fried onion straws and cole slaw. All on a Cellone bun! Tasty! You can make your own six pack, have a ton of cold selections and can always advise you if you are looking for something in particular. A great place for beer (and dogs!)

Found this Pittsburgh gem via Untapped, and we loved it so much that we became regulars! The beer selection is fantastic, and there are always new and unique beers. The beer is always fresh, and with over 700 beers, anyone can find something they like. Multiple promotions are regularly available for larger brewery beers. Bill is fantastic and has a wealth of beer-related knowledge! Also a great place to drink a few beers, have a hot dog or two, and play some Keno. This is truly a gem in the Pittsburgh Untappd scene, and the Pittsburgh beer scene! I would highly recommend stopping by if you want to have a unique beer or get a great 6-pack to go!

Great beer, and great hot dogs. Hidden in a tiny strip mall, great selection of beer and rotating taps. Menu is limited but the hotdogs are superior to most other hotdog shops.

One of the few places around where I can find pumpkin beers that aren't available most places. When I am looking to try something new I always stop in. My husband prefers hard cider and they have a good selection available for him too. They have drafts to try in store and bottles to go. The only downfall is that the parking can get a little bit crazy when Amels (next door) is busy.
