What a great night at MCG Jazz! First time attending. Start to finish, so well done. On sight parking with guards ( email day of show explains with a map), lovely space inside with an art gallery and cafe. Comfy seating in acoustically wonderful theatre without a bad seat. Electronic ticketing. Friendly staff. Couldn't be better.

Incredible organization. My wife and I have been here on several occasions, and we have always been impressed with the quality of the musical talent that MCG Jazz attracts. The latest show was the World Music festival - 4 sets, and it was amazing! The artists were extremely diverse, ranging from a French hurdy-gurdy virtuoso to a cuban jazz ensemble. The auditorium is incredible, with unbelievable acoustics - there are no bad seats in the house, and it is a very nice venue to be able to really connect with the musical performances of these great artists.MCG was founded in 1987 and its mission as a promoter of Jazz, a provider of career training and instruction in the arts is commendable - it's great to be able to support such a great cause while also enjoying world-class Jazz music and other artistic endeavors in their gallery. We will certainly be coming back for more!.

The number one Jazz venue in Pittsburgh. It's also a wonderful gallery space and an arts enrichment studio for high school students. I've seen many Jazz performances here, and the artistry, acoustics, and production values all add up to a spectacular evening. There's also a recording studio that produced the Grammy Award winning Nancy Wilson's "Turned to Blue.,"

Our second trip here was to see Marcus Miller. Oh my word! Outstanding performance, great sound system, polite and helpful ushers, free parking onsite. Theater is cozy and intimate. We saw Marcus Miller and band three rows from the stage and were as happy as could be with the entire experience. There are free self-serve coat racks and a bar. Know, however, that you can only take bottled water into the theater.

Attended the concert of new jazz artist Cecile McLorin Salvant. Wonderful concert this young woman's vocal range is incredible.Pros: The MCG is wonderful, I love the concept of showcasing local talent and everyday people making changes in their neighborhoods and the MCG is dedicated to that . Their 'Being Good' photo exhibit is beautiful, if you have a chance you should check it out. http://mcgyouthandarts.org/photo-exhibit-shines-light-on-good-work. Small intimate theatre and no matter where you're seated you have a great seat and view of the stage; you're literally right there front and center. They have a wine station situated outside the theatre's doors and you can peruse the other exhibits while waiting for the show. And there's a parking lot w/off-street parking which is free (not sure about prices during the day or weekdays). Cons: The theatre seats are not butt-friendly! It feels like your packed in there, definitely for smaller folks.
