I was scared by the bad reviews but our experience here was amazing! We stopped in about an hour and a half before a pirates game and although it was busy we were seated within 10 min (when everywhere else around was completely packed). Service was quick and friendly and OMG... the classic loaded Irish "nachos" (cheese fries) were to die for!!! There was so much delicious cheese sauce and queso and I added some extra buffalo sauce that really set it off. Would definitely come eat here before a game again.

It was a Pirates game night, and the fans were starting to roll in. We grabbed dinner before the game and were pretty underwhelmed. Service was very slow, with long lapses.The food was good- Philly Steak Nachos with Tater Tots ($16) and an Italian Deli Panini ($14) with Onion Rings ($3). Soft drinks were $3 each.Besides the service issues, we found the restaurant to be in a state of disrepair. The tables were very "icky-sticky". Oh, let's talk about the restrooms too. There are three paper towel dispensers in each restroom. In the men's room all 3 were empty. In the ladies' room, one was empty.Now in baseball 2 out of 6 equates to a .300 batting average which is terrific.But when it comes to availability of paper towels, that's an epic fail.

$10 charge for using a credit card that bartenders do not prior disclose to customers! Moreover, they do not ask customers if they want an open or closed tab & further charge them later. They won't provide you a receipt for your card transactions either. Very poor form! I am very disappointed in McFadden's, I typically enjoy this bar but these tactics are deceitful and dishonest. Will not be purchasing from their bar again.

I hadn't been to McFaddens in ages, tho we used to go often enough that they'd hand me my drink as soon as I got to the bar. Sadly, they changed their burgers (previously good) to smashburgers. I'm not a fan of those, so I don't know how theirs compare. I got a wrap and tho the chips weren't as good as before, the chicken in my grilled chicken wrap was perfectly prepared & very tender. The egg rolls were also delicious! Service wasn't great, even before they got crowded, but it was good enough. I was surprised that tho they remodeled some the floor is still the same horrible sticky floor that reminds me of a dive bar or gray party. They also have a bathroom attendant which I (& my allergies) hate. I'm allergic to perfumes and it was horrible. They did allow children in the dining area, which was a surprise and worked well for our group. I'm not sure if this policy (not carding at the door) is in place for games or even all concerts, so if you're dining with children before a game or show, I'd recommend calling to ask. The location can't be beaten when going to events at PNC Park. Still a very good option.

Decided to drop in after a ball game and wait for traffic to thin out. Was immediately seated and few minutes later the waitress stopped by to get our drink orders. The noise level was so loud because of the music that my friend and I could hear each other even though we were sitting opposite each other. Drinks arrive, and we're ready to order. My friend, a very picky eater, ordered a plain hamburger with mustard, pickles, and onions. I ordered the Cubano with tater tots. The food arrives, and since there are no condiments on the table, we ask for ketchup, salt and pepper. My friend's burger was perfect, a rarity for her. Usually, she has to send it back to be more fully cooked (she was not asked how she wanted her burger done. It just came out medium-well). Now this is where things went south. The food server, not our waitress, brought out a little condiment cup with some salt, two (2) paper packets of pepper and another condiments cup of ketchup. Something you'd expect at Arby's or Taco Bell, not a bar restaurant. I asked if it was Heinz ketchup because it just didn't taste right. Not bad but just not right. Turns out it wasn't. Who doesn't serve Heinz ketchup ? In Pittsburgh, of all places ?My Cubano sandwich was extremely disappointing. Probably the worst Cubano I've ever been served. Normally a Cubano is roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard pressed (aka, Panini). This sandwich was a little ham, Swiss, shredded pork (and very dry pork, at that), no pickles, salami, pepperoni, possibly a slight touch mustard (there may have been some yellow but you definitely couldn't taste mustard) pressed. Well, we tried McFadden's Saloon now and truly never expect to go back.

Food is horrible, I had a burger with bbq and the sauce was so hot I was breathing out flames plus everything was COLD, I returned it and in its place was extremely salty paddy. Hubby did not like his burger either.

Hello NateNation let's start this out by saying it is a Steelers home game day but this is also my second d time here and both times WAY understaffed so let's start there ... with that I mind the food slappppps -- the Irish nachos just aren't cooked but I really enjoyed them me lady was kinda impartial... Now the wings man butter me up and call me a shrimp dang those wings are tastey crunchy large bbq ugh yum so good - the other shining star, the Frieda holy freaking crap the fries - you know the fires are good when me lady doesn't need ketchup, have you ever heard that in your born life?! No ketchup for fries yes yes yes that is how good these fries our holy Mac and cheese wow. Me lady also got the beef brisket... it was beef brisket It was just that nothing special.Come here for the fires, the wings and the fricken PITTSVUEGH STILLERS!!! Wings fries Stillers baby long live mcfaddans I will be back.

In town visiting from Texas. Decided we wanted to go out to a bar/ club scene downtown. Good drink prices ( 2 for $15). DJ on Friday night played a great mix. We will be back for sure!!!!

This place is hit or miss but mostly miss. I've been here a couple times and it was okay and I've also been here a couple times and it sucked really bad.I'd say if you go here before or after a game it's not going to be a great experience because the staff can be rather rude due to it being so busy and it taking them forever to serve you food and/or drinks.But then again that should be the best time to go here and they should be on their A game because that's when they should be their most impressionable to make sure customers keep coming back due to having a great experience.Also, I have been here on just a regular weekday or weekend night and it's rather lame. TBH: the food is mediocre bar food at best and the drinks are your typical watered down mixers.Honestly, there are better places to go in the area but this place should be the best due to its size and location and you think it would want to do better considering the numerous bad reviews. New management would probably help this place flourish. Just saying!*Not recommended

Walked in... smells like a dive bar.... I mean there is a je ne sais quoi- about it... my wife asked for a wi e.... "We don't have wine- go to Hyde park"... a bit rude... went to Tim's watch bar- a lovely - pleasant place ....
