Marty's Original Bar & Grill

My husband and I came here for breakfast around 8:15am on a Friday morning. We were the second couple in the dining room and we chose to sit by a table with a heater as it was quite chilly in the building. Our waitress came over and took our drink order right away. After awhile we placed our order. Our son was with us so we hoped to get in and out as quickly as possible. The dining room began to fill up. After about 20 minutes we still did not receive our food. It was clear the waitress was trying to keep everyones drinks filled to kill time. Another 20 minutes went by and we still did not have our food. Our son was getting ansy as was I! The waitress claimed it was "The Marty's Way", as in it was normal for such slow service from the kitchen. After about an hour and ten minutes we received our food. By then, I was not happy and I took most of my food home as our son was no longer cooperating. I had ordered the western omelet, toast, and homefries. Our son had chocolate chip pancakes. The food was all delicious, but the experience we had was really unfortunate and does not make me want to return. The prices are so good that if you have all the time in the world to sit and wait for your food, then you should give it a try.

Great!Pork chops were as good as any high end restaurant and the accompaniments were awesome also!Every morsel of food and drink served were wonderful even if you had to wait for a while to receive your food. Marty's has a reputation for the best breakfast in town if you have time to wait!! Their food is worth the wait.Oh yes, Pam! She is a gem! She flutters around the large dining room by herself and keeps everyone happy as they wait! She makes it a great experience.

Old school bar and restaurant. Smoking allowed bar side so it's super gross.Always seem to be short staffed. Waited 1.5 hours for a burger and fries.Disappointing because this used to be a cool dive place with good food.

In summary, the only positives about this place was the personable service, and as a smoker, the freedom to have a smoke with a drink.Went here on a Sunday for lunch.Showed up around 12:45, and received a breakfast menu. Inquired about seeing a lunch menu, and was told lunch doesn't start until 2pm. Say what now?The reason given for lunch not starting until 2pm was that the only person cooking was the owner. Not sure if that means the owner doesn't know how to cook burgers/use the fryer etc. but I digress.We were told upon ordering it would take longer than usual for our food to be prepared; again, because only the owner was cooking.No joke: 1.5 hours later we received our food which consisted of:1) a ham, bacon, and egg sandwich with hash browns2) eggs, sausage, hash browns, and pancakes.My wife said her food was awesome. My sandwich was, well, a sandwich. Meh.Probably the only reason I'd go back is to have drinks and freely smoke inside. Again, the bartender was nice too, so as a bar this place is probably good. We'll see - I'll follow-up if/when we go back.

This place is a gem. We've lived in Zelie for 5+ years and have dined here often.Their menu is robust and includes a variety of dishes you'd find at fine dining establishments. And, they nail them, for half the price.Tonight, we had veal parm and the chicken Romano. Because of the large portions, we'll be having the same tomorrow night. Both came with one side and a choice of salad or soup. My wife had the Cali veggies and I had the pasta with my veal. Everything was delicious.For what it's worth, their hand breaded fried fish dinners with fries and mac & cheese are always great. We've had that dish a few times. And, like tonight, always enough for another dinner.Truly, we are always happy after dining here, whether indoors or as carry-out. In short, highly recommend.

Truthfully this wasn't what I expected. On Christmas Day I had to fly back to Seattle and my family wanted to go dine out one last time. I had warned that with Christmas many restaurants would be closed, and bless my mother she thought that since the Internet said it was open during a cursory search that it was open not noticing the print that stated "Please double check for holiday hours". We arrived in Cranberry and found that nowhere she thought was open was open. It led us to calling every place that popped up and when all hope was almost lost Marty's Suburban confirmed that it was open, so off we went. The outside was a little dated and no windows on the exterior made me feel real hesitant. We bypassed the first door and went to the second and entered the dining room and then that is when confusion hit. I was expecting a dive bar, not a quaint little dining room. But there it was - a quaint little dining room complete with Christmas tree and Christmas music playing in the background. We were seated very quickly and handed holiday menus. My parents ordered the fish - a breaded cod complete with cheese - and I opted for the turkey. The serving sizes were gigantic! I swear there was a pound of turkey on my plate a variety of dark and light meat covered in a delicious gravy. It was terribly tasty! The water was not tasty, so I would have to recommend drinking something other than water here. Both of my parents had sizeable portions as well and commented that it was super tasty. I am not sure what the regular menu is like but everyone there was friendly and checked with us frequently. We left feeling very full and delighted at stumbling across this place.

My first time here. I was hesitant because of mixed reviews. The atmosphere isn't great, service wasn't good either, but I had the best batter fried fish dinner that I've ever had. Mac and cheese was flavourful and pierogies were awesome. I can't wait to go back!

Great food!! Takes forever but portions and value make it worth the wait. Only coping you have time to enjoy your company. It is a minimum of 45 min wait for food Even with only 3 tables. But again the food is the story here.

Absolutely Horrible for BreakfastWaited almost an hour for my order while people who came in after me got their food. Finally told the waitress I had to be somewhere and to box up my order and give me the check. I paid the bill and continued to wait for my food until I could no longer wait. Left without never having breakfast or my order.
