The food is outstanding. The service is excellent. And the restaurant itself is located in a very cool, early 1800's structure, with hand-cut beams and wooden floors. The atmosphere is casual, warm and welcoming. This is a great place to bring company. BYOB. Reservations are recommended. For starters - try the soda bread with honey-walnut cream cheese. The falafel cakes are wonderful. My personal favorite is the Filet Mignon (Saturdays only). The Parmesan Crusted Ranch Chicken and the Meatloaf are amazing. And you can't miss with the home-made cookies!Oh, and they do have a speaker series on local and world history, during the summer. We've gone to one. It was a fascinating discussion on local archeology. Highly recommended! I would call or go on Facebook if you're interested.

5 stars all around. This new gem is on Main St in West Middletown (Rt 884) right near the Cross Creek entrance. True farm to table establishment- read up about Marsha's background and her local farm on the website. Restaurant is cute and quaint and has a small dining area, back deck, and offerings from local vendors, including Bedillion's Honey. The menu is packed full of something for everyone. I got takeout today- the winter salad with chicken and sweet potato fries. WOW the food was amazing. One of the best salads I've had! Truly the definition of a "big beautiful salad." The ingredients were so fresh and paired well with one another. I never would've thought to add squash into a salad but it was so good! It also included some of my favorite salad ingredients- dried cranberries, candied pecans, and seeds. The homemade ranch was to die for! The sweet potato fries were also thick, fresh, and delicious. This is an amazing little spot. I'm so excited to see a restaurant like this in the Avella & Washington area! Check this place out, I highly doubt you'll be disappointed. Already planning my next visit! :)

There is a hidden gem in Avella! Have y'all tried Marsha's on Main in West Middletown yet? It's small but the deck is lovely, the food is outstanding and beautifully presented and the small touches all around just let you know you have stumbled on something special. You walk through and can see the open kitchen on your way to get seated on the deck. There are racks of homemade jewelry and the salves Marsha makes herself across from the homemade pastry case . Look hard enough and you can even find a cookbook created by Marsha! The crostini appetizer, spicy pasta and ranch dressing are all out of this world. It's byob which is nice sometimes. Without the alcohol markup it is a really affordable, delicious, and relaxing night out. And being right next to cross creek, it's super convenient to pick up a lunch to eat lakeside. I'm from the area and it's so exciting to see a restaurant of this caliber so close to home. If you are asking yourself is it worth the drive, the answer is yes!! Good luck Marsha! Please keep up the good work, everything was delicious and I can't wait to return!

Stopped in for a late Breakfast on 12/9/23 and I'm sure glad I did! The restaurant is extremely clean and very festive for the holidays! I was at ease knowing that every menu item was made fresh and sourced locally. Both of my over easy eggs were done to perfection with an extremely rich center. I travel to many places around the world and most restaurants cannot come close to the quality and taste of the eggs that are served at Kitchen on Main! As I ate my breakfast it was impossible not to notice how much love and effort the restaurant staff has put into Kitchen On Main to make it what it is today! The place has a charm to it and it pours into every plate. It takes a lot to earn a five star review but this restaurant checks every box " even the bathroom was top notch clean!" I'll definitely be back!

Delicious!!!Fresh, tasty, well seasoned and healthy food! This place is a welcome and needed addition to the area. We had the salmon with broccoli which was perfectly prepared and seasoned. The portion size was generous too. The clam chowder was one of the best we ever had and the salad and Mac and Cheese were both tasty. Marsha's restaurant has a warm welcoming feeling and cozy atmosphere. Our server, Heather was outstanding and will definitely include the Kitchen On Main in our regular group of dining choices. Call ahead to reserve your table. You'll be glad you did.

What a great find! Marsha has one of the best menus in the area, if not the best. A healthy gourmet menu at reasonable princes . I haven't had a bad dish. She made the best omelette I ever had. Soup and salads will not disappoint! Outdoor dinning on a deck in the spring, summer, and fall. And a beautiful drive out, past rolling hills . Definitely check it out .

What a charming place! This place has two cozy dining rooms and an outdoor deck for warmer weather days. The décor throughout shows the thought and care put into every detail that brings this historic building to life, including local art, several antiques and an oil lamp collection. The menu features a nice variety, but isn't overwhelming. I had the classic grilled cheese with tomato soup and fries. Hubby had the reuben with fries. You can taste the quality, fresh ingredients. I especially tasted it in the soup and fresh-cut fries. Friendly staff, reasonable prices. Check it out!

We had lunch today and let me tell you it was absolutely amazing!!! It truly took me back to the hometown feel when I was a kid. Eating in a 200 year old house with fresh food made to order was an incredible experience. We had hummus appetizer - grilled cheese with tomato soup and my husband had a hot Italian hoagie both came with fresh cut sweet potato fries. Absolutely delicious! Please take a beautiful drive out to West Middleton, enjoy the vast beauty of the land along the way and enjoy the dining experience at this little gem.
