Maria's Country Store

Quaint little gem that just pops up unexpectedly. Stopped in for some macaroni salad, ( dont want any grandma brand ) she has homemade mac salad and she had a wonderful broccoli salad. All made there. Gonna try her pizza next. She also has lottery, candy, you know, anything you need. You have to stop if your in the slippery rock, grove city area. Thanks Chef

I've had four things from here and three were fantastic. The fourth was the pizza. Actually, make that five things. Back to the pizza. It's a thick crust and heavily seasoned. Too heavily seasoned. I don't care for it, but it reminds me of pizza I've had years ago, and a part of me is feeling nostalgic. There's not really a dining area. There is a bar counter with stools and that's where all the candy, cash register, and lottery stuff is parked. There's a table with 4(?) chairs in the back beside the bookshelf, and it has a few games, and a bunch of books (to distract you from your phone! Put it away and enjoy the moment.)You can get whatever you order to go, and it's excellent. But what I would recommend is parking yourself somewhere at that table, helping yourself to a drink from the fridge and relaxing. You're in someone's home and you are her guest. Back to that pizza. She brings it out and it's on a Corelle plate and she gives you an actual fork and knife. *Like real silverware. Not plastic!* And that's when I figure out the pizza. The pizza with that awesome, thick, homemade crust. It's my aunt's pizza, seasoning and all, and that's why I'm nostalgic... I'm sitting at her kitchen table. The only things missing are the photos and magnets on the fridge.Next time I'm going to ask her to fry me some eggs. If they're almost entirely black with pepper, I'll know she's the reincarnation of my aunt. I'm joking about all this. The pizza is wonderful, especially the dough. This place is great. Take an hour to jump off 79 and just go hang out with that wonderful cousin that you didn't even know you had and let her cook for you. You deserve it.

5 Stars - for this category. Not sure what this category is however. Maria's has everything...they got great food...they got lottery tickets, and they also have stuff to buy (like putting on your shelf stuff).And there is a friendly community atmosphere. Nothing fancy here just a group of regulars who are willing to engage in conversation. It was like being around family as I ate pizza. This was a great pizza (kinda tasted like the pizza my Aunt Gloria used to make).More interesting is how did we find this place? Well we stopped for gas while driving up I-79. I was adding gasoline to my car and started talking to the guy next to me (also refueling). He was a local and when the discussion turned to food, he suggested Maria's.It was a short way from the highway and easy to find. After living in the Phoenix desert for the last 20 years, it was a beautiful tree lined drive.Check out their Facebook page and see the great food prepared by Sarah and Carol every day. If you go to the facebook page you may not notice the tables located in the back...Great place to eat, relax or buy some snacks.

Tried the square pizza and chicken salad so far, very good! Homemade crust that comes out with a slight crisp, and super tasty sauce on the pizza. The salad are loaded with all kinds of fresh veggies! Despite its exterior appearance this place has some legit good food. They also have a small ice cream selection and a large candy selection. As well as many other random items that you may find your self looking for.

Wonderful little country store. Ordered a pizza and it was absolutely fantastic! We got a bacon, chicken and ranch large pizza. The pizza was huge and we are definitely going to have leftovers. I highly recommend this place. The store has a little bit of everything, kind of reminds me of the old fashioned country store. Owner was very friendly. A unique feature is the little library. A wide selection of books which were all free and we were invited to take as many as we wanted.

The best local store you will ever encounter. The food is awesome and you can buy just about anything you need there. The homemade food is great and if you're feeling in the mood you can purchase some lottery tickets.
