Mama Lucia Pizza

Best NY style pizza in Pittsburgh. Thin, crunchy, very delicious. Too bad Dave Portnoy did not visit for a review. Definitely an 8+ score on the Barstool scale. Peroni on draft is a nice bonus. 5 stars

Cryin'' the blues about the service is silly, it's all about the PIZZA, which is dynamite. And I for one think the service is just fine: We order a pizza, they make a pizza. It's always ready on time, always great and the garlic knots are amazing too. Sorry if they're not warm and fuzzy enough for ya' but if you're in the market for a new "bestie" maybe a pizza joint ain't the place to start.

Pizza PizzaWe came, we saw, and we ate.We ordered 2 pies (1 for there and 1 to-go). The gents serving us were not the most emotive. Not happy, not sad, not mean. Just take your order and move on. They were not extremely busy either.We ordered a half meat lovers / half pepperoni pizza. We noticed that the pie was cooked all the way (hot) but did not have the upper burner affect - pepperoni's did not curl and develop the crispy edges.The first slice - - crust was on point - passed the stand test.- cheese was stringy like you want to see- pepperoni was meh- sauce - had good flavor but was a little acidic for my tasteThe second and third slices (because of the oil / grease) did not pass the stand test and became a little more gummy. This place sells individual slices. I bet these are really good because they are all fresh. While our pie was fresh, it just did not hold up.This was not a bad pizza and is based on my preference. Check it out and develop your opinion. I bet the slices are really good :)

Without a doubt, they make the absolue BEST New York style thin crust pizza in the Pittsburgh area. Although we've heard their thick Naepolitian is great too, we haven't tried it because we can never pass up their standard thin crust - it's perfecto. Are their employees overly friendly? Nope. And I don't care. I'm not there to make a friend. These guys are artists....and focused on their craft. Once you eat here, you're search is over.

The Sicilian pizza they make is one of my favorites, so pizza wise... a 5 star. The pizza is costly, I mean over $16 for 6 slices so cost wise would be 1 star.The solution is you have to get a loan from nearby banks to pay for it.

I read the reviews and it looked good enough to go grab a slice of Sicilian to take home. The reviews were not wrong. I wish I had gotten more than one slice! The reviews were also not wrong when it came to the friendliness level of the employees. It's a hard world- a simple smile is helpful, more than ever. Thus only 4 stars.

One of my favorite pizzas. We have been getting mama Lucia's pizza for a long time and it never disappoints! The thick crust is amazing and their soft serve thin is very good too! On the pricey side for pizza but very worth it!

Great pizza especially the Sicilian/ I order it half baked and finish it at home! The toppings are amazing!

I am not able to rate the quality of their food because they haven't been open the two times we've tried to go. The first time, I looked up their hours on their website which states until 9 PM Monday through Thursday. We went around 7 PM, and they were closed. Today I CALLED and asked what time they would be open until and was told 7/7:30 PM. We arrived at 6:30 PM to locked doors and had to put our two year old back in the car crying that he wanted dinner. Very disappointed because I was looking forward to trying their pizza!

The absolute BEST pizza in Pittsburgh without question. The closest to New York I've tasted. Why three stars? Because the employees are miserable. Will I come back? I do every other weekend and will continue to do so because it's that good! If they could only get their heads out of the clouds and focus on customer service...
