I have been to Chinese restaurants up and down the East Coast, Ireland, UK, and mainland. This is a kind restaurant to be open late and to sell me hot and sour soup that was not too spicy and not sour (bland, really). the spicy dish was not spicy, and overall I found the experience to be less than I hoped for based on the other reviews. the front of house was ok enough. the price was reasonable. But there are far better chinese in state college and altoona, but perhaps it was not their night and they should have cooked the soup fresh. as I reheat it I'll add some spice.

Best Chinese food in town. Might not be the prettiest place, but the food and service are top notch

Ate here on two occasions during my four day stay in West Decatur. Broccoli with garlic sauce was very flavorful and was stir-fried with carrots, water chestnuts, snow peas, and baby corns, to which I was pleasantly surprised! The bean curd (tofu) with vegetables was just as good if not better. Tofu was ideally cooked where a slight outer crust forms. Accompanying veggies were broccoli, snow peas, carrots, water chestnuts, and mushrooms. The brown sauce is more on the brothy side but still coated the vegetables well. My dining partners enjoyed the chicken fried rice, chicken with broccoli, and sweet and sour chicken. Would definitely dine here again.

I've never actually been inside the restraunt but I have them deliver food to my apartment sometimes. First off, they are the only place in any town close to me that delivers food. Second, the food selection is great. I love love love their shrimp egg rolls the most. I recommend Main Won!

After taking a break during the pandemic, they have somehow gotten better with reopening. My garlic chicken is actually spicy and full of flavor, and the cheese wontons aren't overcooked - you can tell the fryer oil is new. Whoever is currently doing the cooking, keep it up!!

I was pleasantly surprised with this mom and pop chinese takeout eatery on front street. pretty good americanized chinese food, definitely better than I was expecting as there are not many options in this small town. low prices and decent food. decor leaves much to be desired. so far, tried the moo goo gai pan (chicken, mushroom and napa cabbage stir fry) and chicken lo mein. mainly takeout, but there are tables should you decide to dine there.

I've been eating at Main Won for a few decades and I've never been disappointed. The food is always delicious and fresh at a reasonable price. If you are not from the area, the restaurant is physically run down, I wish they would renovate. Don't let that distract you from the fact that this is a very nice family who cooks delicious food...best quality food in town, hands down.

The food was cooked well but the generals chicken sauce was watered down and tasteless also had a vinegar weird taste. The sweet sour chicken sauce was also watered down and tasteless. I was very disappointed. However they seemed very friendly but I doubt I will go back.
