This South Hills spot has been a great experience every time. The food is good and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the fried pickles, Cordon Bleu Melt, and Short rib this visit. You can also have unlimited samples of the various rum that they have for sale. I love that they have local craft beer on tap. This time I noticed Old Thunder, Eleventh Hour, Monday's brewing, Hitchhiker and Cinderlands. They offered some excellent mocktails including a Sweet Tart Swizzle with Lime juice, pomegranate juice, grapefruit juice, Zombie juice blend, cinnamon syrup, chocolate and rhubarb bitters. There is plenty of seating. We went on a Friday and it wasn't overly crowded. I also love that there is always parking in the lot.

Keep your eye out for their sign, or you can easily drive right past it! I was a little confused when I pulled in, but there's a parking lot around the back. The building was quiet and dark when I walked in, but once I headed upstairs I realized I was in the right place as I was greeted by the hostess. We were one of just a handful of tables on a weeknight, and the servers were friendly and attentive. They have an extensive drink menu, including many local options. The food menu has some unique choices, and I went with the Cordon Bleu Melt. It was delicious! Also, the portion size was huge, and I had leftovers for another meal. My only complaint was the smell, which is the typical distillery smell, but if you're sensitive to scents, this could affect your experience.

Was so impressed by this space! From the outside, the building looks like a regular warehouse space. They have transformed the inside into a cozy and inviting tasting and dining space. The service was great from start to finish. We were greeted by the host who also made us aware of the ability to do a rum tasting at any point of the night. First 3 rums are free and any rum after is $1 to taste. We experienced the same friendly service with our waitress who was prompt and helpful when we asked some questions about several of the cocktails. My friend and I both ordered the wild mushroom soup and the farm burger with fries and homemade ranch. The food was amazing. I will think about that soup until I can have it again! The best part is that it's included in the happy hour menu. It's a must try. The burger was mostly good, but the bun didn't hold up for me. It was falling apart and pretty mushy halfway through, but the burger itself was juicy and flavorful. The fries and homemade ranch were a perfect pair. The ranch was very fresh and creamy and the fries were perfectly crisp and lightly seasoned. I tried the painkiller for my cocktail. I didn't love it like I thought I would. I've had many painkillers on vacations over the years and this was nothing like what I have experienced or expected. The drink was served in a short glass with a huge ice cube. I'm pretty sure it was 90% liquor. If you really want a chance to appreciate the deep flavors of the rum, I think this drink is for you. If you're looking for a traditional painkiller with fruity flavors and a splash of coconut milk and a dash of nutmeg, you aren't going to find it.

Maggie's Farm was a wonderful experience and only a short drive. Finally we have some more choices in the area. This place serves as a rum distillery primarily but also has a beautiful restaurant, bar, and tasting setup. The service was super friendly and the food comes out pretty quickly. The menu is a one pager with enough choices to satisfy just about anyone. We had the avo crab dip to start which was deadly! I probably could've eaten 4-5 more. It comes with some delicious bread as well. For mains two of us went with salads +chicken and one went the burger route. Everyone was happy. I ordered the beet salad with chicken. It had amazing colour and was super fresh. I might ask for a little bit of extra cheese next time, but it was still delicious as it was. After our dinner we did a rum tasting which was a great way to end the evening. We grabbed a bottle of the 50/50 for the house. Can't wait to come back.

On a snowy winter day, my hubby and I stopped at MF Rum on McLaughlin Run Rd., In Upper St. Clair. The building is has an unassuming industrial-looking, with parking and entrance in the rear of the building. We were uncertain if this was the place for us as we are not rum drinkers. MF Rum is a super addition to the South Hills. The bar and restaurant is on the second floor. Large windows give a view of the distillery below. There are ample tables and the large horse-shoe shaped bar has loads of seating. The bar menu offered many cocktails featuring rum, spirit-free cocktails, wine beer, soda, and coffee. The food menu is not large but offers interesting options. Salads, burgers, sandwiches, soups, starters, desserts and options for children.Today was visited a little after noon and sat at the bar. Liz provided excellent, friendly service. We enjoyed Old Thunder and 11th hour beer. The cheese plate was delicious and plenty for two to share. Food arriving at other tables looked great and we will be back soon.

Very impressed by Maggie's. They were busy on a Friday at happy hour, but got 3 if us in at the bar, which was still plenty spacious. We were very well-attended to, the staff was hustling! I tried the Strumming my Pain(killer) and Painkiller, I have to say I would prefer the Painkiller because I liked the similar flavors with the coconut cream and nutmeg. As a rum and coconut lover, I don't think I could've dreamed a better combination. We also ordered food which seemed to take a long time, but understandably so, as you go to Maggie's primarily for the drink experience! However, the falafel in wrap form and gyro fries were well worth the wait! It's hard to find a place that can do it all as well as Maggie's. I can't wait to go back and order some rum for a Father's Day gift!

Ordered the chicken melt and it was very yummy. Served with hot fresh fries which we also enjoyed. The pain killer was also delicious. Not what you would have in the Caribbean but good enough for Pittsburgh. They have a couple of local beers on draft. Lots of indoor sitting. Not ready to replace my bottles of Caribbean rum but if I run out before we can make a trip back out there, may have to give this place a shot.

Back in the day you could go zest limes at Maggie's and they'd sling ya painkilla after painkilla and you'd walk away feeling like you contributed to the good of the order and feelin' GOOD. At the new south hills location, I can confirm that Maggie's is still making you feel good but they are also leaving you no space in your belly. I took my mum here and we both got the same thing which was their farm burger with white cheddah, rum spiced bacon, pickled shallots, marinated arugula, dill aioli and side salads (the croutons are out of this world). I have a soy allergy so I couldn't get their fries (soybean oil fryers) but they looked good at the other tables. They also had a poutine special that I couldn't have because of it and that also looked incredible. Our server was very nice and accommodating as much as he could be. Everyone was friendly. Their menu is awesome. If there is one thing that Maggie outshines the rest in, it's their cocktails. We had the rum old fashion, ginger has nice mangos and the house drink. All incredibly tasty in their own way. Couldn't pick a fave. This is going to be such a fun spot in the summer as it's elevated and has garage doors for windows. It was a little dark and gloomy and too dimly lit for the winter, but that should not deter you from going. I can't wait to go back!

We went here on a Saturday night and it was very busy. We sat at the bar and had dinner and drinks. They have a good bar drink menu and we all enjoyed what we ordered. The beet salad was very good and a generous portion. It's a cool atmosphere and there is ample parking. The staff was friendly and very service oriented as well. Will definitely return to try some different drinks and food.
