Luna Azteca

I chose to stop here for a weekday dinner this week, because it was convenient and I had never been inside before - I have to be totally honest here and say why - their front door is always dirty. It has streaks and handprints that are visible from the road as you pass by, and it actually deters us.The food was okay. The chips and salsa were good, but we were not asked prior to dinner orders if we would like any guacamole or queso, but we chose to order queso anyway after our main food order was placed.I chose a 'bistec' (thin flat steak) with an adobado sauce - which when I asked for a description of, (thinking it was a version of adobo?) I was told by my server they had not tried it, but 'did not think it was spicy'. I am okay with some spice to my food, so I ventured for it. It was indeed spicy. I was able to enjoy it regardless, with the accompanying avocado / mash / salad..My dinner companion ordered a different dish altogether, and it was covered in the same sauce (not disclosed on the menu) - she would have liked some sour cream to accompany, but never again did our server visit the table until it was clear we were no longer eating. I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying the place, but I was not impressed.

Overall, really solid Mexican option in Johnstown! There are a couple Mexican options in town; in comparison, Luna Azteca is a good option. Service here is consistency speedy and courteous. The menu is quite large. During my most recent visit, I had a heck of time deciding what to eat. I eventually decided on the Guadalajara special. I knew it was a mix of a bunch of things and chicken. Overall it was good. Not great. It was just an overwhelming amount of food. So much so that I ended up taking over half of it home. The tortilla chips on my plate were so saturated with food they quickly got soggy, and as expected, the food I took home was not ideal to reheat. Word of caution: The alcoholic beverages are not cheap. Corona will rack you $6. Mixed drinks and margs run up to $12-$15 (depending on what you order.) For the area, the prices for drinks is steep. Overall though, the homemade chips and salsa is excellent, the taco salads are great, and food prices are quite reasonable.

The food at Luna Azteca is really top notch compared to any other Mexican restaurant I've ever been too. The service is satisfactory, it could be more inviting. It's something to work on. The ambiance is good, I typically enjoy the music they play it covers a wide range of styles from traditional to modern Mexican music.

Updating my review. We eat here almost every work day. It's good for the area and better than eating Sheetz every day! Food is cheap and fast.

Food was delicious and Jason's service was excellent. Very pleasant, attentive, and efficient.

Just paid 50 dollars for take out get home and missing an entire meal called repeatedly only to get solid busy signal

Wonderful food! Served fast and HOT. Reasonably priced and the staff was knowledgeable to describe the different dishes. I will be back again.

why are you charging 1.50 more on customers eating there on top of your increase on price of foods dishes, i feel this is not a good business practice,plz do not does this makes me not want to go there anymore.
