Lucchesi's Bar & Restaurant

I swear, it gets better every time I go. The appetizer mafalda is the one of my all-time favorite dishes, I dream about this pasta dish. The Lobster Romano is simply of the best meals I've ever had, it melts in your mouth, absurd amount of deliciousness. I also had the veal done like their hot chicken Parmesan, sweet and spicy, I liked it a lot. Didn't take as many pictures as my last visit over the summer, but I do really look forward to returning to this gem.

I was recently in Monessen, visiting my mom and decided to have dinner with two of my best friends, so we went to Lucchesi's. The food was excellent the best crème brûlée I've ever eaten however, when you're spending money like that and you have to constantly chase a waitress down for another drink I feel is unacceptable. I live in Palm Beach Florida where I'm very familiar with restaurants of that caliber, the difference is their service is impeccable they'll bring you a cashmere sweater. If you're cold, you shouldn't have to chase anybody down for anything.

Disappointed sauce was too sweet. Overcharged us for bottle of wine since didn't have one we asked for and never told us it was double. Said it was the same. Was double.

To Lawrence WApparently your name does not end in a vowel. Next time get a Chicken Parm from Burger King so us Italians can appreciate the fine food we ARE willing to pay for.

We ate here yesterday for my friends birthday. It was a limited menu because it was Valentine's Day weekend. This is a very small place with about 10 tables. There is also a bar with limited seating. I would definitely make a reservation, in fact, it may be required. That being said, we had a reservation for 730pm and didn't get seated until around 820. It is family owned and run from what I understand so it has a very friendly atmosphere and the wait can be understood. The decor is quite a bit dated but everything was very clean. Street parking with meters but it seems like no one was feeding the meters. Our server was very nice. While there was a bit of a wait for our menus when we were seated and before our orders were taken, the food came out pretty quickly after that. I highly recommend the marinated peppers which are served with havarti cheese. I want more of this now! Entrees come with a salad which was good with then house dressing but a little lacking as mine consisted only of lettuce and a tomato. The option of crumbled blue cheese was available. For my meal I had the Black Sea bass topped with crumbled lobster. This was cooked to perfection with lemon and for this reason, was light and delicious. I opted not to have capers. My husband had the veal and wine which he said was very tender. Everyone raves over the cheese garlic bread but I personally was underwhelmed as I tasted no garlic but lots of butter. Don't get me wrong,I like butter, but I also like garlic!The prices for the entrees are around $35-$68 (this is the highest and lowest of what I saw). My husband and I both ate for $110 which included our entrees and app and 2 glasses of wine. I did thoroughly enjoy my meal and would like to come back when the full menu is available. Very satisfied!

Was in town for a golf outing and tried Lucchesi's. Not what you would expect in a small mill town. Everything we had was excellent, pasta, appetizers, bread and salads. Even the pleasant and classy old school ambiance was a surprise. Only 2 drawbacks, wouldn't be great for kids since time between ordering and meals was quite a while, (and there were only 3 tables occupied), and the prices are not for the meek, they are, shall we say, a bit salty. That said, I would probably try it again, but separate checks! LOL

Went here last night for the first time in about 9 years. It was perfect then and it's still perfect now. The Veal N Wine is the best veal I've had anywhere. My father had the Veal Parmesan and it was the best he could ever recall having.Highly suggest you start with the peppers and cheese appetizer.Understand they are now open only on Thursday - Saturday nights. Think this is because Les ( owner/chef ) is now in his 80's and slowing a little.Get there while you can; it was and still is my favorite restaurant in SW PA.

All around amazing!! Loved the relaxed atmosphere that we didn't feel rushed through dinner.

Best kept secret in Monessen, PA.I drive by every day and never knew it was there. This place was highly recommended by a co-worker and it did not disappoint. Had reservations for a Saturday night but it was not that crowded. Veal was spectacular. Lobster and Crab was the best. Limited menu and bring your wallet. Not Cheap but well worth it!

Dined here last night with friends and our meals were delicious. They are doing 5:00 and 7:00 seatings due to Covid and we chose 7:00. Our server was Dana and she took great care of us and couldn't have been more pleasant. You'll need reservations and when you call, tell them you would like to have the deep fried angel hair appetizer. They need advance notice and its fantastic. We will certainly be going back to Lucchesi's.
