Stopped in again to quench my Mexican cuisine appetite. We arrived and were sat right away, our waiter got us our drinks and chips and salsa right away. The jumbo margarita was very good. Not the best or the worst Marg I've ever had. Would recommend. This time I changed my meal order to the Carnitas fajitas and I was kind of let down. There size and quantity of the food was great but I only got 3 tortillas for so much food. So many veggies, meat to veggie ratio was way off. Will be back soon!

This is a very difficult review for me to write, because I really dislike leaving negative comments. I always try to be as positive as possible. I'm going to be completely honest. My husband and I visited Los Mariachis on an overnight stop in Morgantown on our way to Florida. We were excited to try this restaurant and very open-minded despite some less favourable reviews. We were seated immediately by a very friendly hostess. Our waiter approached us very quickly and took our drink orders. He returned within a few minutes with our margaritas. The margaritas were okay. Mine was the jalapeno, but it had zero spice. After trying some of the 'jalapenos', both my husband and I realized it had green pepper slices in it. I actually ordered a shot of tequila to add to it after tasting it as it seemed to have almost no alcohol in it, but I honestly wasn't bothered about that. My husband ordered the chavela margarita, which was quite good! For dinner, I ordered the shrimp salad and the elote corn. My husband ordered the mini taco sampler. He was very happy with his plate of food, although it really needed salt. The sauce with it was delicious and the portion was huge. My shrimp salad looked amazing and the first bite was good, although there was no dressing at all. Regardless, I was really excited to try it and took at bite of all the components. First bite wasn't too bad, although it again lacked salt. Unfortunately, the second and third bites were not good as there were 2 raw shrimp. I ate one, which I regret. The other one, I took a bite of and left the rest on the plate. Then I found another raw shrimp, so I gave up and put it aside. My elote corn was lovely and hot with plenty of cheese. However, when I took a bite, it was black inside. I took another bite to make sure and there was even more black inside. I told the waiter and when he looked at it he said "that's just the colour". I asked him to take it away and I told him I didn't want another. He didn't say anything, just took it away. When I mentioned the raw shrimp, he said nothing. He just got the bill. The corn was removed from the bill, but the salad was not. When we walked to the cash register and paid for our bill, I told the lady (the same one who had seated us) what had happened. She was genuinely worried and upset. She told me that I hadn't been charged for the corn, but had been charged for everything else. She said if I had told her earlier, she would have removed the salad from the bill as well, but I told her not to worry about it. She apologized again and that's the only reason this is a 2-star review instead of a 1-star.

Restaurant is nice and big. I was seated right away. Chips and salsa are very good and brought out right away. I got the Chori Pollo dish which was tasty. Came with rice and beans and flour tortillas. Price was a little more expensive than similar dishes at same type of restaurant. Portion size was big. Overall I'd come back if I lived in the area but I'd probably look for other places with similar quality and a little less expensive.

All I have to say is free tequila shots for the table if you are celebrating a birthday. Granted they pour it straight down your throat, a shot is a shot. In any case the margarita towers provide more than enough drink for 4 people and I suggest getting them frozen because it will melt before you finish.Either way the mango and strawberry are delicious! The portions are huge, so be prepared to take some food home. The restaurant is large and it gets busy on weekends, so be prepared for a party and busy staff. Regardless the servers are attentive and will accommodate you as much as they can. Large parties are great here and are typically seated in an covered porch area.

Large portion of fajitas. Service was quick and fast. Seemed to be a newly decorated place, Mexican theme for sure. Would certainly go back.

Food and service is great! I had a really good chimichanga with shredded beef and refried beans and rice. Excellent. My wife had the honey Chipotle Shrimp. We were both very satisfied with both the service and our meals. Eat here. You will be happy you did!

We were in town for an event at Mylan Park. This place is very close by . When we asked locals for a Mexican restaurant recommendation, over and over we heard, "Los Mariachis ".The food was delicious and the drinks were top notch!Service was great. Such a huge menu; something for everyone and reasonably priced. My husband had the veggie burrito and he said it was the best he's had in a very long time. I had the fajita burrito. It was fabulous. My son ordered the queso dip with chorizo and loved every bite. Absolutely would visit again!

I've been in San Diego and Mexico for 16 years, so this review is based on what I know of countless trips to Mexico and San Diego Mexican food which has a large variety of different types. Due to that, please note that is why some things I'm a little bit more of a critic about. Here are a few things I did not like about Los Mariachis:CONs:1. The salsa tasted like tomato sauce. I sincerely think they used tomato sauce. It did not taste like an authentic salsa. We asked for a second salsa that is spicier and it was a lot better.2. I ordered a top-shelf jumbo margarita. It was hardly anything but top-shelf. It was extremely sweet. It tasted like it came from a pre-mixed bottle of margarita mix, low quality. I couldn't even finish it. I also got a headache afterwards; cheap alcohol possibly.3. We ordered a Chimichanga and it was far from being crispy - not baked and definitely not deep-fried. It still tasted like a burrito. In fact, this would fall under the category of a wet burrito, not a chimichanga.4. Our table also ordered quesabirria tacos. The birria tacos were not that bad. What I did not like about them was the Consume (the soup). This should be hot, not barely warm.PRO: - The service itself was great. This is what saved you from receiving a one-star review. Your waiter, Cruz, was awesome. He provided a really nice experience and conversation with us. You should really give Cruz a raise; he does an excellent job!A note to the restaurant:Salsa is one of the biggest staples, if not THE biggest, to an authentic Mexican/Hispanic food. You know this I'm sure, so please know that the experience of Los Mariachis has to be better for me to come back. From the beginning, a really good salsa keeps people there and heightens the appreciation of the food about to come out. It really tells people what type of quality of food you're about to provide. At least that is my perspective. If your salsa is meh, the rest of your food will normally also be meh.
