I have stayed here years ago and was amazing. However this visit was horrible. We went there last March for a weekend. The power went out while we were up at 7 Springs, so when we got back about 2:30am, we had no lights, We figured we'll keep each other warm, so we pulled back the sheets and well.... When we turned our phone lights on to find our way around, the sheet had mice droppings on it. Realizing we were rolling around in mice feces, a great night turned to disgust and I showed the night guy who kept apologizing and assured us the manager would call us. We were fortunate to find a bed at Holiday Inn Express at 3:30 in the morning. I wanted Log Cabin to compensate the stay at Holiday Inn Express due to the circumstances. I requested to speak to Eric the manager, called 8 times and always requested he call me back, but could never get a call back. Every time I called and talked to someone, all I did was mention the room number and they all said "Oh, you're the mouse dropping people. We'll tell Eric to call you." Still waiting........

I highly recommend this cute place to stay! Living Treasures Animal Park is on-site and a quick drive (about 10 minutes) to 7 Springs and Hidden Valley. Such a gorgeous area--I love the Laurel Highlands!Very clean and rooms are spacious. We had such a wonderful weekend here!

My daughter and I stayed here for a night on our way home from a college move. We loved it! The decor in the room was absolutely gorgeous. If you aren't fond of the outdoors or rustic atmospheres, you probably won't like it here, but I love the outdoors, so it was great! Everything is handmade and beautiful. The Wildlife Park is also here, but we didn't get a chance to check it out due to rainstorms. We did get to see some monkeys and sloths in the gift shop, which was a plus. I am considering a return with a few friends for a girls' weekend and want my husband to bring me here for my birthday this fall! So much to do in the area! Never realized how much there is around this part of the state, and I've traveled through here tons of times!

I love this place and we stay here anytime we pass through the area. The "suites" are made to make you feel as though you're staying in a log cabin which is super fun and unique. The beds are cozy with themed fleece blankets and everything was very clean. Didn't use the fireplace as it was summer but it looked nice. The cost of the room was $110 before taxes and let's be honest. You can stay hardly anywhere for that price anymore. Plus you get half off admission to the Living Treasures animal park on the property and 10% off the gift shop. Can't beat that! I do miss the lion roaring that you can hear from your room . It's been a few years since we've been here and he has since passed. The female lion was transferred to another facility. Hopefully they'll get another lion or two someday. This place is such a gem and I totally adore it!

Just got back from a one night stay before visiting Fallingwater. What a fun place to stay. We stayed on the second floor so we had vaulted ceilings. Rustic decor but super clean (actually spotless) with a small microwave and fridge which a nice touch. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the place is heated by a gigantic wood burner out back and we were unable to regulate the temperature in our room. It was really really warm so we were up and down opening the door all night to try to cool off.

I've decided that even though I don't live too far away, I will be spending an overnight in the Laurel Highlands area every summer for some outdoor activities. I was pleased with Log Cabin Lodge and Suites location and price at first and was pleased again with my room and stay once I got there so it seems this will be my go-to place. I booked a stay in a simple room for one night. My primary focus was cost and location, but they do offer a few perks like discounts at Living Treasures. They also offer free breakfast, though it's not that impressive (mostly cold cereal, some yogurt, toast). Luckily there are a few places nearby for some good coffee. My room was comfortable and cozy and I had a good night's sleep. I only heard the animals when I went outside the next morning (I'm not sure if my room location had something to do with that since I was farther away and closer to the road). The bathroom was well stocked. I enjoyed the outdoorsy lodge motif as well. Cell service was spotty, though, so free wifi would definitely be a good addition.

With Jules and I heading back to Western PA for a long weekend on something of short notice, we had to scramble to find somewhere new to stay, as our usual haunt was sold out for the weekend. That led us to a Hotels.com reservation at Log Cabin Lodge out in Donegal, not too far from the numerous ski resorts of the Laurel Mountains. And, while our four night stay there wasn't anything particularly bad about our stay, it wasn't particularly great either. When we arrived, Log Cabin Lodge seemed almost deserted. Mind you, we arrived the Wednesday after Labor Day, so I can imagine that most of the rooms were empty simply because we were in an off-season time. The staff was amiable, though the biggest issue with LCL comes to the fore immediately: the hotel seems to be an afterthought. You see, Log Cabin Lodge shares a property (and ownership) with a wild animal park which adjoins the hotel property. And it's that section that the staff and ownership have focused their efforts. Everything in the area is built to sell tickets, sell merchandise, and to focus on the animals, rather than the hotel itself. Now, the hotel rooms on their own were more than passable. Featuring rustic, log-walled rooms, the ceilings were high and lofty, and the rooms smelled of the deep woods. Things were clean and generally in good quality, though we did have a few caveats. The walls are fairly thin between rooms, and the air conditioner is notably loud. As we found out after the second day, there is *no* maid service, unless specifically requested at the front desk/gift shop stand. If you want fresh towels, if you want the trash taken out, you need to ask for that specifically at the front desk. That seems really odd to me, and only further reinforces the idea that the hotel is an afterthought. We did have one strange interaction with the staff, however. When making our Hotels.com reservation, we weren't given the choice of what kind of room we wanted (in terms of king vs. queen vs. full beds); when we arrived, we found that we were given two full beds. When we asked at the front desk if we could, perhaps, change for a queen or king room, we were told that since we made our reservation through Hotels.com, that wouldn't be possible at all. Strange, I thought, especially considering that the lodge was all but deserted. All told, we probably won't be back to Log Cabin Lodge. While our stay wasn't bad, we have other, similarly-priced options that are not only closer to our usual haunts and with more of the things we look for in a hotel.

Not deluxe accommodation by any means, but the staff is nice and the rooms, though shabby, are clean, and COVID protocols were taken seriously. Great place to crash prior to visit to Flight 93 National Memorial.

Clean and comfortable. Bunk beds for the kids. 1/2-off petting zoo on site. I chose this place because we wanted to see Fallingwaters, the super-cool Frank Lloyd Wright house, on the way back from a Michigan to New Jersey road trip. This was a perfect spot off I-76 to see the house and jump back on the highway the next day. The price was right for a family room with a queen and bunk beds. The employees carrying baby wallabies and kangaroos in the gift shop was a bonus that you won't see at the Holiday Inn Express. The small town of Donegal offers a few restaurant choices. The husband found a place to run on one of those rails converted to trails nearby.

It was a great place to stay except for the mouse or rat that was running around our bathroom and when we asked what could be done they offered us mousetrap!
