This is the best Asian Cuisine in Pittsburgh's Southside by far. From traditional Chinese food dishes, to Japanese ramen dishes and other great menu items, this is a true Gem. The servers and other, Lin herself are excellent hosts and me and my partner come here once a week. I love the ramen and I have to remind myself to take more pictures. 5 stars for me.

though Carson st was supposed to be happening place and somehow it was but yeah it's okkkish for me. We were exploring the area, there's a nice riverside walk.we stopped here, empty it was, not sure why, as it was only 9 PM, and it had great reviews (ofcourse who goes to any restaurant without reading any reviews... wink ;)We ordered:Mongolian chicken - good. 4/5chicken Cantonese - good. 4/5Thai style fried rice - it was a little blunt in taste, but yeah 3/5overall food was good. you can definitely try a few items here. ambiance and service were great. The portion size is not that big, and prices are reasonable, considering you are dining in a good area.

Pretty tasty Chinese food from Lin's. I stood to the more classic food instead of the fusion items (there's quite a bit of 'traditional' American-Chinese food available as well). My order consisted of a chicken egg roll and pan fried pork potstickers/dumplings.The dumplings/potstickers were quite good. They had an ample amount of meat, and the meat was well-cooked. Not too doughy either. The order came with a nice serving of dumpling sauce, which was a nice balance of savory and sweet. Decent portion, and I can tell they were actually pan fried which is nice. Would recommend them. The chicken egg roll was a bit strange. The chicken inside has a very odd texture. It is minced into tiny pieces and quite dry. On the outside, the roll is crispy. It also includes the standard vegetables (mostly cabbage) on the inside. Pretty average. My order came with a variety of complimentary sauces such as soy sauce, duck sauce, and mustard sauce. The soy sauce went really well with the dry chicken egg roll. Also, they gave me a free fortune cookie as most places do.All in all, a nice spot for Chinese food. I stood to the classics and they were pretty good. I'd recommend the dumplings over the egg roll, though.

I was shocked to see that Lin's has such mixed reviews. I used to live directly across the street from here, needless to say I frequented it ALOT. It has always been extremely consistent! Service is always super friendly. The waitress that we had the last time that we dined in was so sweet and very present in making sure we had what we needed. Located on the southside, the front window tables are prime for people watching. Restaurant is always clean which is always a plus! We usually go for the General Tso's Chicken (with the sauce on the side because I like super crispy chicken and having control of the amount of sauce). It is always perfectly crispy; the Tso's sauce is super tasty and has ruined all other Tso's sauces for me! The egg rolls are great here too, really nice sized roll as well. The lo mien is a typical version, flavorful and a good portion size. It's exactly what you want if you're looking for lo mien. I had tried to find a new Chinese food spot since we moved further away and still haven't found one that matches up. I drive the distance to get me some Lin's.

My boyfriend and I ordered from here and were disappointed. However I don't want to entirely judge by takeout alone so may have to give another try. I ordered the chicken pad thai spicy. My critique is that there are maybe a few large chicken pieces then these giant curds taking up most of the entree (probably to cover the lack of much meat). Another issue I had is the largely chopped vegetables which outnumbered the noodles. There was virtually no flavor to the dish at all and it was edible, that's it. He got a beef and rice dish which was "ok." I hate to leave not-so-great reviews but perhaps their other dishes are better and I will give a benefit of a doubt but this was the worst pad thai I ever had. It was basically onions, peppers and tofu. Also like another review said, their tofu is too tough to even bite into.

I've had a few friends say this is their favorite restaurant in all of Southside. So when helping a friend move I suggested that we go here. Or maybe she's just suggested that we go there either or it was a good choice. We walked in and we got seated right away and we just missed the lunch special. While slightly disappointed the full menu was still available and it looked very good.My friend knew right away what she wanted since she has lived in the south side and comes here lot. I need the little bit more time to look through all the pages. I was pretty impressed with the different options that Lin's had. And I put it on my list to come again to try different options from the menu, after the food was tasted of course.I went with the eggplant tofu with a side of noodles and she went with one of the Bento boxes. All I know from her bento box is that she got some Sesame crispy tofu and it was delicious and I will be getting that the next time that I come.My dish came on a plate kind of like a fajita. It was very steamy and sizzling for a lot longer than I would have liked because it was so hot I couldn't eat it. And then I also felt bad because the steam was just blowing into my friend's face. She was a good sport and said that she liked it and she said it was like a steam bath with delicious flavors. But it still made me feel a little bit bad. The eggplant was cooked perfectly and all the vegetables were delicious. The sauce was light and did not overtake everything and didn't give me that sticky feeling of heaviness that some Asian sauces do. I think that I would have liked crispy tofu instead of just the regular tofu because it probably would have stayed together easier. But all in all the meal was very good.I look forward to trying more things on the menu especially their sushi and their bento box. And a little taste of that Sesame tofu has had me hooked and waiting to go back soon to get some of that. If you're in the Southside try it out.

We love Lin's!! We get the dinner combinations and they are so yummy and such a good price for such a good amount of food. My favorite is the D3! We also have gotten the pot stickers and wontons before, both of which were delicious. Sometimes ordering over the phone can be a little tricky, but any mistakes that were made have been correctly politely for us!

It was the first snow this year and what is better than Hot and Sour soup? I stopped in and ordered a big bowl. The server was very efficient and fast. I then ordered the basil shrimp and chicken sizzler. Very tasty! It was not spicy enough for me but I really like to sweat when I eat. So I requested a side of hot sauce! It was a healthy dish, very nice portion and presentation.

I've dined in and ordered delivery from here a fair amount of times. I haven't had issues until this point. Myself and my partner both ordered "super spicy" L9 and L13. It came with everything at inedible levels of sweet. I had to re-cook hot and sour soup with cayenne, red pepper and vinegar to try to salvage it, but it was still gross. Same with the General Tso, tofu, and mushrooms. Service has been fine the last handful of times, but I'm super disappointed.

The sesame chicken was so terrible- the texture was way too rough and the food look nasty right when I opened it.
