Leila Jo's Cafe & Bakery

Absolutely phenomenal pastries. Be prepared to pay the price though it's worth it! Check first, because they are not always open on a regular basis.

This little Cafe & Bakery is a hidden gem. They not only have the most amazing cupcakes, but their pizza is one of the best in town. We got the BBQ chicken medium pizza and it was simply out of this world. So if your in the are stop in and get some cupcakes and try something from their menu. You won't regret it.

We are from Buffalo, and take an off-beat road trip to the Punxy & DuBois area ever few years. This time around in Punxsutawney, we came across this newer establishment. Both the outside and inside of Leila Jo's are very inviting. We were in town on a Sunday, when much of the Punxy main drag is closed, but Leila Jo's was still open later in the day, which was also a nice touch. So we went in for a sweet treat break. The bakery case had a variety of cookies, cupcakes, brownies and danish. Our son had a double-chocolate cupcake, our daughter a cookie sandwich, the hubbs a lemon danish and me a white almond cupcake. Both kids were happy with their sugar rushes. I adored my cupcake; I asked if it had an almond extract flavor, and they assured it did--and boy did it! I love that cherry'esque candy'ish flavor, and both the buttercream frosting and pastry cream filling were booming with that delicious taste. The hubbs appreciated that his lemon danish was stuffed with filling, something you don't always see with fruit danishes. But unfortunately that made the underside of the danish under-cooked dough. He was able to eat most of the large danish though, so still very satisfying. This cute little bakery was a pretty solid hit with our family. Even with a minor kink, we enjoyed our treats, the atmosphere, and the very reasonable prices. All of our goodies, plus two bottles of water and a soda were just $15. The next time we're passing through to say hey to Phil, we'll surely stop by to say hey Leila Jo again too. :-)

Super cute "Philling" and phantastic surprise. We we cruising through enjoying Groundhog snd then we were awakened by this locally owned creator and chef. Just down the Chamber shop and mural. Great stop!

Awesome service and food. The owner was so accommodating for the food allergy. Made an awesome plate of egg whites with ham for Sandy. Daughter had a bagel sandwich and me a sweet roll. Later we are coming back for pizza. It's clean, it's cool, it's good.

We got the new chicken bacon ranch pizza and a meatball Stromboli, both delicious. The staff was super friendly and very clean inside. Can't wait to try the homemade sweets from the bakery!

Great new bakery/pizza shop in town. Professional staff and a very clean restaurant. Perfect for eat in or take out. Check out the Sunday morning pastries. Be warned, they are addictive.

We visited Leila Jo's food truck this weekend in Canadohta Lake. We had a bit of everything - donuts, desserts and pizza. They even had cauliflower pizza! It was all amazing and the staff was just so nice and accommodating. Definitely recommend! Wish we lived closer to the Bakery, but the food truck is a great idea for those who aren't close to the storefront.

I traveled far on a Saturday at noon just for this place to be closed! Even on the door it says open until 7Pm. It's so disappointing that business's can't be true and open when they say. I will never come back and never recommend!

If I could I would give this restaurant 4 1/2 stars. The place was small and it seemed a bit awkward to eat there. BUT the food was very good. We got pulled pork and it had a mustardy sauce; different from any pulled pork sandwich that I have ever eaten. I enjoyed it. The owner was friendly. The place was clean including the bathroom. Unfortunately, we did not try the desserts.
