Le Petit Cafe & Grille

This is a cute little neighborhood cafe on Pittsburgh's south side. There are only 8 tables and you order at the counter. We came at noon on a Sunday and didn't have a problem getting a table. The menu has classic breakfast and lunch items--omelets, salads, burgers. The salads were very fresh, large, had French fries on them (pittsburgh classic!), and very good rib eye on one and grilled chicken on the other. We also got a burger and the rib eye sandwich (like a Philly cheese steak, but better!)And the French fries were very good!They also serve tea and coffee and a small handful of pastries, and had many to go orders going out the door.I'm a hot chocolate fan and they serve "gourmet hot chocolate". I was skeptical, but it was one of the best hot chocolates I've had!Definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun breakfast/lunch spot!

Ate here on a Sunday morning at around 10:30AM. This area is a ghost town at this hour. Which was odd considering all the residential nearby. Had no problem getting the window table. Breakfast was pretty good. The standard breakfast with toast, eggs, potato's and meat, and a couple of pancakes. No complaints on the food front. There was an interesting situation of note however. We also ordered coffees. Since it was our first time here, we didn't know exactly how it works. But we got two "large" mochas to go with breakfast. They were delivered to our table in coffee mugs. Not "large" coffee mugs, just your standard home mugs. Which I believe are 8 ounces? The large coffees on the menu were supposed to be 16 ounces. We didn't know if we got a refill or what. Seems like we would've got the same mug if we had ordered and paid for a small mocha too. We didn't feel like chasing down an answer on this so we left it. Something to consider when dining in though.

On a scale of romances to documentaries, La Petit Cafe & Grille is a small-town love story such as Of Literature & Lattes by Katherine Reay. This scenic shop offers a great menu, wonderful service, and a lovely space to chat and eat. While they didn't have a few items available, they were able to offer substitutes for the meal. I took my Chocolate croissant and iced chai to go, but I hope to return soon to dine-in! Paid parking is available on East Carson, but you may be able to find a free spot on a back street.

Quaint little cafe on the Southside. Tasty fresh prepared food with nice options like turkey bacon and sausage. Serving great La Prima coffee drinks also. Very pleasant staff.

This place is a neighborhood gem. Delicious food and excellent service. I had the signature breakfast and coffee, and have also tried the black and white pancakes. I'll be back to try out more of the menu.

We went there for breakfast over the weekend. We had to wait for the table a little bit but it was not a long wait. Foods came out pretty quick. Both of the foods we ordered were good. The portion and price were fair. I deducted one star because the staff didn't tell us that it would be $0.5 extra for each ketchup and jams. We were surprised when we see it on the receipt. Eh....maybe I ordered wrong? Maybe it was an off day? I don't know, but I don't really get all the rave reviews. I stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday. There were a few patrons and no one at the counter. After a while, someone came and said they'd be a minute. Another while later, he finally came back, finished a to go order, delivered a meal, and then took my order. This is yet another place where you have to order at the counter and they ask for a tip before they've actually done anything at all. I sat at a table, and waited for my food. I overheard another server telling people they were short staffed. She was friendly, but other than delivering my sandwich provided no service. I had to get up and grab a hot sauce from a nearby table. Then again because I wasn't given silverware or a napkin. The $9.63 (plus tip) sandwich was the classic breakfast sandwich. I suppose ordering a "classic" should have tipped me off that this sandwich would be basic, but I was hoping for something a little more tasty. It was substantial, but essentially an overcooked omelet on two slices of dry toast. I added some hot sauce to try and liven it up, but it was bland and boring and dry.

Came here for lunch during the week! The cafe is adorable and makes it feel like you are not in Southside! They serve breakfast all day and have an extensive lunch menu as well. I had a iced caramel toffee coffee and the greek salad. The greek salad was delicious! It consisted of gyro meat, fries, feta, tomatoes, cucumber, olives, and a nice herby dressing. The salad was huge! Will definitely be back! Great to grab breakfast, lunch, chat with friends, or do some work.

This place is a little hidden gem! We are only in Pittsburg for a week but we've already had breakfast here twice. The coffee is delicious, the eggs were perfect, the pancakes are the nice and thin tender ones, not the thick, tough kind. The potatoes are flavorful and cooked perfectly, and the French toast was actually soaked long enough in the custard so they weren't dry. The only thing...there's mold in the basement and/or bathroom, so if you have reactions to mold, don't go to the bathroom here.

Super cozy decor. Absolutely amazing food and great service. Super convenient location! Absolutely love this place!
