Laurel & Grouse is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of Johnstown! Upon entering, you are greeted with smiling faces and helpful hands. The servers and front of house workers are pleasant and eager to help. The restaurant is rather small with very little seating and a small bar. I had a group of 7 for our Supper Club and they took us shortly after opening so that they could better serve us. Our waitress was super helpful with suggestions and answered any questions that we had about the menu. She was helpful and accommodating, not to mention patient with all of our questions! We indulged in multiple appetizers, different entrées, and even dessert. Here's my review of each part of the meal:Smoked Chicken Pierogies: These pierogies were different and delicious. They were super flavorful, but they were unique and worthy of trying!Foccacia: I cannot say enough good things about their foccacia. It was perfectly soft and plump and included 3 unique dipping sauces that blew me away: red pepperonata, whipped ricotta pepper honey, and pomegranate molasses. I couldn't believe how good all of it tasted!Mustard Glazed Salmon: This dish came with butternut squash hummus & grains. The salmon was cooked perfectly and flavored well with the mustard. I didn't love the grains and the hummus was underwhelming, but it was a unique dish.Blackberry & Pumpkin Crepes: These Crepes were flavorful and delicious. The pumpkin was not overly spiced up so this was a perfect light dessert to end our meal. The blackberry Crepes weren't as flavorful but delicious and nice to try.Other people in my group had the fall lasagna, diver scallops, pub burger, and bolognese, and all dishes got rave reviews!I also had a Pumpkin Espresso Martini. The flavor was great. I was disappointed in the overly salted rim and the lack of espresso beans on top, but I'd drink it again because it was delicious overall. This place was a welcomed surprise and the flavor combinations were unique and different. This place is definitely something to talk about!

Excellent. Just excellent. We had seats at the bar and enjoyed shared appetizers, drinks, and awesome entrees. I'm looking forward to going back soon - really soon! - for dinner again

OMG! This food is absolutely OUTSTANDING!! My husband and I have eaten food from different countries and many different restaurants. Honestly NOTHING compares. The service is beyond excellent. We tried 6 of the different small plates because everything sounded amazing and it was. The drinks were exceptional!!! If we lived 600 miles away I would drive the distance just for the polenta fries with shaved Parmesan!!! If you come here you will never want to go anywhere else. Loved the new owners, the atmosphere, and all the smiles!! Made our 20 year anniversary epic!!
