La Tavola Ristorante

Our first visit here after looking for a restaurant in the area. It was highly recommended by people I know so we were optimistic. Maybe too optimistic. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and tastefully decorated and the staff was attentive and helpful. I just wish the food was better. I was hoping to be wowed but I wasn't. Not that it was bad it was just a tad a boring. When the warm focaccias came out with seasoned dipping oil I was hopeful. It was great. Followed by a very tasty appetizer of Portabella Romano. Fried portobello mushrooms over spinach and red peppers with strips of Mozzarella cheese. Very tasty! The tossed salads were average that followed. But the entrées fell flat. My veal piccata was not tender and was simply veal medallions with capers on the plate. Not much lemon flavour came through. My friend had eggplant parmigiana which was huge and she thought it was good. My other friend had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. She said the noodles were homemade. My side dish of penne with marinara sauce was delicious.Maybe I'm too critical because I was told it was fantastic. But 3 stars is based on the food.

Stopped in for dinner while staying a few nights in New Stanton on an adventure. Found it on yelp and asked the desk manager at the hotel about it. He confirmed the positive reviews. Not that busy when we arrived. Sign on the door requiring proper attire and "no hats"! Just a little confused as what proper attire is as they were many people there in shorts and tennis shoes. I really don't understand the no hats policy with some restaurants. We decided to sit in the lounge is it seem to be a little bit more joyful. After reviewing the multiple menus, my wife and I decided on adult beverages. My wife ordered a glass of Pinot noir, and I their Manhattan. The wine was delicious and they didn't know how to make a Manhattan! My wife decided on their personal pizza, which was actually about plate size cut in four slices. It was absolutely fresh and delicious! I decided on their Cajun shrimp. It was an interesting flavor combination of some Cajun spiced shrimp on a bed of sautéed spinach with some balsamic vinegar as well. It was fairly tasty and interesting! As we will be here a few days, there is a high probability we will visit again.

Was there on NY eve. Limited menu but what we ordered was good. Will definitely try again!

What a fabulous place !Lovely atmosphere, terrific service , excellent food!!Calamari was done perfectly , not chewy at all!! The chicken Marsala was delicious as was the special , which was a white fish with a lemon butter caper sauce! Caesar dressing tasted homemade which is a rarity and it was amazing !!! The chief / owner walked around to each table to converse and make sure everything was satisfactory. Definitely recommend this hidden gem!

The food is Amazing!!! I hope you get a chance to dine here. It will not disappoint. There is a lounge side for more casual dining.

I had my two kids, three and 18 months, with me. They were getting hungry because the place we stopped at before didn't have enough waitstaff to get food to us. I looked up somewhere close and found La Tavola. Walking in I thought, "Uh oh, a little fancy for one guy with two little ones". But they were extremely welcoming and treated us as if we were family.The children's menu had spaghetti. My oldest loves spaghetti, but what about those white tablecloths? Our waitress said that they send them out to get washed every night and there is nothing my daughter could do that hadn't been done before.Ok then, spaghetti and a meatball for my daughter and chicken fingers for my son. They were very pleased with the choices. My daughter loved trying to twirl her spaghetti. I had the antipasto salad. You can tell they don't skimp on the premium ingredients. I still remember how good the provolone cheese was. Next time I'm in the area I will return.

If you are ever near New Stanton, PA La Tavola is a MUST DO.Lou is not only a master chef but a very personal guy who always checks with his customers to ensure they're happy.If you need to travel out of your way to dine here, do it. Old School and Top Notch!

Had a wonderful experience dining at La Tavola. Started our evening with a glass of wine at the bar before being seated for dinner. Excellent and friendly service and the food was spectacular. We look forward to returning again .

The six of us had dinner last evening and scored LA TAVOLA IN NEW STANTON -- 5 STARS -- ! Delicious food, wait staff very knowledgeable and friendly. PLUS the owner stopped to chat! A few at the dinner table are medical doctors and will definitely be making LA TAVOLA IN NEW STANTON our dining spot when schedules permit.HANDS DOWN -- EXCELLENT PLACE TO DINE!

This Michelin-trained chef is an authentic Italian American and his lemon piccata recipes are fabulous! We love his Virginia Spots, he had some excellent wines when we were there and he and his family and staff is delightful. Love going there and after writing this I will ask our friends if they would like to go tonight!
