La Gourmandine is such an adorable bakery with so many delicious options -- all nearly too pretty to eat! There are sandwiches and pastries and bread as well -- I got a raspberry almond torte and a pistachio cream pastry and both were perfect. My husband loved the mini baguettes. Everything was reasonably priced and there are a few tables and chairs to sit and enjoy your items!

I don't know how this tiny French pastry shop has the best almond croissant I've ever had in the world, but it does. Everything in this place is made with care and is truly the best French pastry bakery I've ever been to, including Paris. On top of that the people who work there are kind And have helped me out on numerous occasions.

What can you say but num num num!Parking was a bit tough .. it was a small lot and they were getting a delivery of some sorts. But...As soon as you walk in you are greeted with a beautiful display of fabulousness! Transformed from PGH to France! The staff was super nice and patient as I looked over all the goodies to choose from. In the end .. selected the almond croissant (OMG! Where have you been my entire life) and a Gourmandise which I selfishly ate in the car on the drive home refusing to share .. hey don't judge. Def going back and maybe the new Xmas morning treat for the family moving forward.

If you ever sat outside at a Paris cafe people-watching, you will love this place.Pros: everything I have tasted is just better than anywhere else around Pittsburgh, unless you compare it to La Gourmandine's downtown location haha. Their croissants are straight, meaning it is made with butter, and every type of bread I have tried tasted so good. And don't get me started on the pastries!Cons: I wish we lived closer and it was easier to get to...Summary: best bakery in Pittsburgh, without a doubt.Pro-tip: save yourself the pressure being overwhelmed by all the choices at the bakery by ordering online...

The shop is amazing, the location not so good. 5 star to other locations. Mt Lebanon is a horrible place.

Let's start with this: There has never been a disappointment with anything I've bought at La Gourmandine. For holidays I pre-order, but on Saturday, I naively thought arriving at 9am I would avoid the rush. Wrong! There was a line out the door. The parking lot was jammed (it is small). But I did make my way to the front quickly and they had the quiche Lorraine I was seeking. It was delicious and rich, but anyone considering it should expect to pay a little more for that goodness. I would have loved to buy more and will return when it's less busy. If you order in advance, there is a side door where staff will hand out your pastries.

I ADORE this little shop. The pastries are all incredible and made with so much care. I don't think I've ever had anything that was dry, soggy, or bland. It's all so delicious! And the sizes are perfect. Not enormous, but not pathetically tiny either. The gourmandise is one of my go-tos whenever I come. It's like a croissant filled with cream and bits of chocolate. Absolutely divine. 100% recommend. The shop itself is quite small and narrow, so I'd recommend coming outside of regular breakfast or lunchtime because it fills up very quickly with customers. The staff is super efficient, though, so you don't have to wait long before they take your order and get you what you need. Hats off to these employees for sure! La Gourmandine, merci beaucoup! Je t'aime et je continuerai a revenir vers toi!

Fellow Yelpers, thank you so much for writing your reviews about this business so that I would become a customer! La Gourmandine is a French bakery that has a few locations in the Pittsburgh area. This location in Mount Lebanon opened in 2014. Menu items include baguette sandwiches, pastries, danishes, breads, and cakes. These items are available in-stock in the stores and as special order at least 48 hours in advance. Upon my check-in through the Yelp app, I felt happy to see an offer for two free chouquettes with purchase. The employees spoke very kindly to my husband and me, and they were patient while we decided what we wanted to order. The price for each of our pastries was about a few dollars. Here are my reviews for the three foods that I ate:Tarte aux pommes - 5 stars - (Please pardon any misspellings, because my software wants to "autocorrect" my French words!) This apple tart had a crispy crust, moist filling, and sweet and tart apples. Delicious!Macarons aux fruits - 5 stars - This macaron was large, and it was filled with tasty lychee mousseline and fresh raspberries. I would definitely order this pastry again!Eclair au chocolat - 5 stars - This eclair had both a chocolate filling and topping. It was extremely chocolatey. Here are my reviews for my husband's foods:Croissant amandes - 5 stars - This pastry had an almond flavor. Abricotine - 4 stars - This pastry was fresh and flaky. It was topped with vanilla cream and a chunk of apricot. Panier framboise - 5 stars - This pastry was topped with crème brûlée and fresh raspberries. My husband did not provide details about these three pastries, but he seemed to really enjoy eating them.

Finally got a chance to stop here at this unique find. We really enjoyed our visit. This is not your typical bakery offering tons of sugary cakes and cookies. Our visit took us on exploratory trip showcasing fresh breads, sandwiches, desserts and other baked goods. We selected several options and enjoyed the butterscotch dessert the best!Everything was very light and fluffy with the cream filled items not at all sugary sweet and buttercream heavy however; all still satisfying to the pallet and to your sweet tooth.Pricing for each pastry around $3.00 or a little more. The location was a very busy, local hotspot. Check it out.

Love this cute little place. There are a few tables for 2 indoor and outdoor. I look at the foods as if I'm at an art exhibit they are beautiful. They are as tasty as they are lovely. Soups change out daily. Today was red pepper and Gouda...delicious! The baguette that goes with the soup is perfectly made and such a good size Our spinach quiche couldn't be tastier. We took croissants home. Service was friendly, warm, and efficient. Be mindful of the travel patterns in and out of the corner spot.
