We were ecstatic when we heard this place was coming to our town; finally a Teppanyaki/hibachi place close to home. Well, we have been to many of these types of places in the US and I guess we were expecting more. I am not saying this place is bad, and we will continue to go here, but they could be much better. First off, they use decent steak but are super stingy with it. Go with the filet for a few more bucks. Their ribeye is ok too, but when they first opened they chopped it up thin like a Philly cheese steak. I'm pretty sure they changed that though now after all the complaints, but we just get the filet as it is cut into cubes like traditional hibachi. Either way you will get maybe 3-4 oz. of steak at most. You might get 5 oz. if you order just a filet dinner and not a combo like steak and shrimp. They are pretty stingy with all the proteins for the most part. On the plus side, their shrimp are decent sized and very good, so the filet and shrimp is my go to; the teriyaki chicken is always your best budget meal if you are doing a cost/benefit analysis :) Where they really lack here on getting you full is the rice and the veggies. The veggies are mostly onion and zucchini chopped way too small. No broccoli in their veggies unless you order a side of it. You will get a very small portion as well. Same goes for the rice, and I'm not sure why since rice is cheap and this is usually where hibachi places fill you up. Don't get me wrong, you will get a full plate of food once everything is on it, but at most places we would have extra to take home with an overflowing plate, not here though. The salad and dressing they have are really good, but the soup is basically hot water with hardly any taste or texture; they are really lazy with the soup. We do like their sushi though. Their spicy tuna and spicy crab are our favorites; they will make them extra spicy if you ask. The only reason we don't go here very often is every time we went, their portions got smaller and the prices got higher. They only have 3 or 4 tables that hold 10-12 people each. This doesn't matter though as they only seem to be busy on the weekends at peak times. They do take reservations which is great, but you can usually walk in and get a seat if it is not peak weekend times as previously stated. All in all, they are not bad, but expect to pay $25 or more for a steak and shrimp hibachi dinner that probably won't fill you up unless you are a light eater. Give them a shot, but I would say you won't be itching to go back for a while after you get your bill and are not full. When they first opened it was pretty good, but they have gotten very cheap unfortunately, possibly due to rising costs or lack of customers - not sure. It is sad because we were their biggest fans and told every one to go here in the beginning. Every time we go here there are less people it seems. Another thing we noticed is they really don't put on much of a show, especially when they are not busy or the table is not full. In the end, if you are expecting a full-on hibachi steak house, you may be disappointed unfortunately. The food is good though for what you get. Extra white sauce please :). Almost forgot, you do not get low-mein noodles, you get fried rice, but pretty sure you can order it as a side. They have Sopporo beer and sake, but no Sopporo light or Kirin, and the sake is never hot enough. I think that is the only Japanese beer they have. Happy dining...

1.) It was dirty. It's partially due to the area it is in, as other Kobe restaurants are not this badly cared for.2.) They don't cook in front of you. What is the point of going to Kobe again? I was at another location just a week prior and they did cook in front of us.3.) Portions appear to be lunch/small dinner sized. The price you pay to have a large snack is ridiculous, and wrong. They need to lower their prices to accommodate this until they cook in front of you again.4.) The bathrooms were a mail in the coffin for me personally. Filthy, smelly, and nothing like a higher class hibachi. Disgusting.I will not be back again unless management changes, wises up to what a real hibachi experience is, or ... well I'm not sure I'll be back at all. It's been a while since I've been this disappointed.

Probably one of the worst meals we ever had. Definitely the worst hibachi experience. The restaurant itself was very dirty. The chef absolutely phoned it in and had a terrible connection. The food is overpriced and very insufficient amounts compared to other hibachi restaurants. I ordered the scallops and got 4 scallops. Yum Yum sauce was terrible. There was six of use in our party and three of us had hair in our food. They automatically add 18% to any party size so you know the service would suck and it did. There is a hallway that goes back to the bathrooms and they leave the food carts sitting out in that hallway so anyone walking by could touch the food. When our waitress asked us how was everything, and we responded with our complaints she all of a sudden didn't speak English. Save your money and go elsewhere. Life is too short.

We decided this place wasn't worth our money maybe a year ago. Tried it again tonight.... I would say it was significantly worse. The soup was only okay. The salad was only okay. The teriyaki chicken was only okay. The sushi was absolutely horrible.. even worse than grocery store sushi. We ate about 2 pieces and then got a box to be nice but threw it out on the way out the door. The 1 Star is for the adorable & funny waitress. She was great.

2 hours later and I'm still weirded out by how bad this place was. Flat pop, Salad had a funny taste w/ brown frozen like dressing, watered down yum yum sauce. Soggy sushi rice. Cold food! I can't believe it! Please try somewhere else. I'm only writing a review b/c I feel bad for ppl that would waste their money. I spend 140$

This was the freshest sushi and sashimi I've eaten. I've eaten these in New York, Houston and across the south and in Pennsylvania at various places. Am I a Japanese food expert? No. But I will make it a point to eat here as often as I can. Every piece was just perfect. Clean as far as I could tell. Soup and salad was fresh and delicious. I ordered the sushi platter #1. Not disappointed in the least.

We came for lunch and ordered sushi, miso soup, and some other appetizers. The appetizers were alright. Nothing steller. The sushi (which was over $90 for lunch for 3) was not worth it. The salmon was slimy, tuna was bland (tough and been sitting) and the rolls were alright. I have lived in CA and when I pay money for sushi, which is fine it is a premium food, I will pay. This was not even something that should be considered. The sushi tasted like it was frozen and thaeed several times. The rolls (Lobster tasted like imitation and this was $13 which would have been fine if it was good). Especially with the prices they charge ($2) per piece, I would stay far away. In addition to sushi, they have hibachi but after this experience I will never be back.
