I went here for breakfast a few months ago and it was great. I really love what they're doing and how the proceeds go to stopping hunger and they have information about local charity drives. They also have vegan options and you can tell it's run by families. They did get my order wrong but it was still delicious so I didn't complain and they were out of juice but hey. That happens. Be flexible. Everything was delicious and I felt like I was surrounded by great people.

What a wonderful place to stop for a bite to eat! Was out today with a dear friend and she wanted to stop here as she knew the owner but hadn't been by. Turned out to be a great idea!I think the phrase is a "labor of love". A quaint and very well kept restaurant in downtown New Kensington. Plenty of parking. Outdoor seating as well as dining inside. Mind the limited hours...more of a breakfast/lunch spot depending when.Very friendly staff, and we were seated quickly, opting for a spot outside to enjoy the sun. One orders inside, and they bring the food to you once it's prepared. This is a "suggested price but pay what you can" concept restaurant. Fresh local and on-site sourced food. The food? DELICIOUS! Oh my just the cheesy cauliflower mac and cheese is enough to draw me back! The veggie Greek pita though? OMG good! My friend had some sort of fried baloney sandwich she thoroughly enjoyed. Looked panini-ish, but stacked with meat and goodies...very well presented!I hear they have salmon, so I have to come back with my 13 yr old salmon expert son...and if this first experience of mine is any indication, he'll love it, finicky a bit or not.Go here. No, seriously...stop here for the delicious! The delicious!!!

I finally made it to my community restaurant and it was a wonderful experience. I ordered the chicken pesto wrap with potato Gouda soup. The ingredients were fresh and wholesome. The pesto flavorful the chicken was moist topped with tomatoes and greens wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla. The soup had chunks of potato and Gouda cheese and was oh so creamy. The drinks were complimentary. The cafe is ambiance is warm and inviting the decor is colorful and bright made from repurposed items. This is an definitely an asset to our community! Bravo!!

I love this place so much, and I love the work that they are doing! I work in New Ken and frequent Knead weekly (sometimes multiple times per week). The food is delicious and the prices are great. They post daily specials on Facebook each day, but they also have a standard menu that changes with the seasons. The staff (mostly all volunteers) are so kind and helpful as well. Knead hosts events during the year as well, including a monthly dinner for all to enjoy. If you are ever in the area, come share a meal at Knead- you won't be disappointed!!

So proud. This is a pay what you can type of place. I've always heard about these things but never experienced it. They gave set prices for food but if you can't afford that you can pay what you can afford. If you can pay more, it goes towards a donation. If you can't pay anything , you can opt to volunteer and work off your meal. Regardless no one is turned away. The Knead Cafe is newly renovated and very nice inside. The food is normally locally sourced. They seem to have a steady menu but they do switch it up seasonally. The daily specials are very creative. Trust me they have daily regulars. My only wish is that the hours were longer, but breakfast and lunch seem to be what they specialize in. It closes at 2pm. I'm very proud we have this in our community. Pay them a visit. It's a hidden gem for sure.

Great food, for sure! The best bonus is the owners feed those in need w a free meal. You can ask for help and be fed, pay for your meal, or you are welcome to overpay to help those in need. Many volunteers make it work. Wonderful outdoor and indoor setting!
