Johnny’s Seafood Shack

I stopped by Johnny's Seafood Shack on Friday and ordered the fish and chips. The fish tasted very fresh and the fries were hot and crispy. The slaw was good too, but overall I'm just not that big of a fan of slaw. The fish and chips came with 4 decently sized pieces of haddock and a bunch of fries. Honestly, this could be a meal for 2 people if you're not extremely hungry. It was kind of expensive, but worth it in my opinion due to the quality and the amount of food. I would go again. I'm interested in trying their lobster rolls after lent is over!

this food truck is attached to the Western Edge seafood outlet in the heart of wexford, both of which just opened the last couple days...my first time hereinside they were offering some free samples- i had the clam chowder, mini crab cake and mini haddies (icelandic haddock), all of which were greatthe clam chowder was one of the best i have had- with a different but tasty, smoky flavor (from bacon i was told)...plenty of upbeat staff, who answered all of my questions...the interior is what you would expect from a seafood outlet...lots of fridges and freezers displaying all the goods...many many seafood options to choose fromat the food truck, i got lobster rolls- chilled lobster meat mixed with mayo and veggies, on a toasted mancini's bun- to me, it looked like a lobster salad on a bun, in terms of the presentation...not too much mayo or spices to drown out the lobster flavor, but just enough to add a nice flavor complementkudos! i will be back!

I've heard good things about this food truck and tried it on Friday when I was t my Grandpa's nearby. Their lent menu is a little more trimmed down than their regular food truck menu I have seen before. I got the fish sandwich, hush puppies, and a large side of lobster mac and cheese. It was a little pricey, $31. The lobster mac and cheese was as much as the sandwich for a container the size of a to-go soup bowl which seemed like a little much. There weren't that many lobster pieces for the price, like 3 or 4 decent-sized chunks, and the mac and cheese itself was pretty bland. The fish sandwich was the best part but I still wasn't wow-ed; I was also charged $1 for one slice of american cheese. I'm fine with paying extra for things, that just seemed excessive. The hush puppies and fries were clearly just frozen, and the fries were cold. For the price, I wouldn't come back here during lent but may visit the food truck at a different time to see the bigger menu.

Really impressive options for seafood. They are offering attractive options that are just not normally available from food trucks at the restaurant quality level.I have been eating there at several food truck events since the spring and just saw that they have a Yelp page....During the summer, I usually ordered the shrimp tacos with fresh made pico de gallo. They are light and refreshing in the warm weather. Recently my favorites are the scratch made lobster bisque and white clam chowder. And I know friends who go crazy for the lobster mac'n cheese.Pretty big menu which also includes some non-seafood options like chicken tenders.

Johnny's Seafood Shack has an amazing variety of options on their menu. My favorite is the lobster roll, lil haddies, and their mac n cheeses. What really makes this lobster roll amazing is the bread and butter they use. The lil haddies are also amazing! We love to buy a bag to keep in our freezer. A very quick and easy meal, but also delicious. The lil haddies have the perfect amount of breading on them. They offer 2 different types of mac n cheese, lobster mac and scallop and bacon mac. Both are very good and creamy. Another nice thing to keep in your freezer for a night you don't want to cook. The staff was also amazing at the outlet store. Handing out free samples and making sure they were answering any questions customers might have. I love the graphics on the food truck. They are very bright and inviting. I also love the paintings on the windows. It gives off a perfect seafood atmosphere. Would definitely recommend taking a trip to Johnny's Seafood Shack.

The lobster roll was FANTASTIC! And on Mancinis! So Pittsburgh! I can't wait to go again and try something else!
