Joe's 58th St Grill & Tavern

Dry is the word of the day I'm afraid. Had a slice of pepperoni pizza which was virtually sauceless, but perhaps that's just their style of pie.The reason why, for the two stars, was the dryness level across the board. Crispy but dry fries. And the pound of boneless wings I ordered were heavy on frying batter and super light on sauce. See image. Only the very center of these wings featured any moisture, and the side of ranch/blue cheese wasn't enough to remedy the situation.Seem like nice people. But dry dry dry food on this Tuesday evening.

The food is always very tasty savory and something that hits the spot. Definitely a great option for to go food. It's a good food option to have with a few beers. As far as the bar goes, the bartenders are not very attentive and it's sometimes too crowded. Other then that it's a fun dive bar experience. They do need to do something about that haunted painting by the women's bathroom. Bad vibes. :) But I will definitely return once they open back up. I might bring some holy water or wear a cross for my trips to the restroom. Lol But overall still a fun place! :)

The yellow pizza is AMAZING!!!!! I was told, not by an employee or anyone associated with Joe's, that the Altoona Hotel pizza recipe was purchased after the A.H. fire. Rumor or not....it's absolutely delicious. Kyle and Evan are fantastic bartenders (I'm also a bartender, so I know what service to expect). And who can forget about Dan Dan the bartending man!!!!!

This is a nice bar, with good food, great bartenders, and a nice place to hang out. It's close to my house which is nice, but it's got the bar, but also booths, and large tables. There are tvs all over, so you can see the game from anywhere. It allows smoking, which I'm not crazy about, but it has an open patio that connects it to another bar that is non smoking. I just like the smoking side more, because people my age hang out on that side and I'm friends with the bartenders. Great place, check it out! Order a pizza!

I was really hoping I had found somewhere that made really good wings. But, I had asked for them to be extra crispy and they weren't, I am not sure where the garlic was. I saw the butter but no garlic. The Spinach Artichoke dip was cold. Like pulled out of the fridge cold and put into the bag and delivered to me..... I paid for extra ranch ( btw since when did it become 90c's for a plastic co Rainer of additional ranch?). So this will be a no for me from now on. Won't be back.

Was told my ID wouldn't be accepted, although I am of age. Was denied service because my "ID was sketchy," even though it was my legal drivers license. Won't be back.

We love the Cauflower pizza. My husband believes it is the best sausage pizza in town. He gets fresh garlic and sausage pie. Worth the cost!!

Stop in and visit Kyle, Dan and Evan, the best bartenders around! Great food, reasonable prices and you're free to light up a cigar! A great place to spend a few hours! I'm there every week!
