THE BEST last minute road trip stop. Came across this place when traveling along 80 and it far exceeded our expectations. With a mini van full of toddlers through grandparents - all left full and happy!A salad bar, sandwiches, hot pizzas and pastas ... and the bakery! We easily could've spent $300 and had no regrets, but sadly we had to get back on the road. Amazingly nice staff and even better food. Would gladlyGo back!

Yelp Review for Jimmy's Italian MarketJimmy's never misses! I've been coming here for a while, and it's always a treat. This time, I grabbed the Reuben brick and the cavatelli to-go, and both were phenomenal. The Reuben brick was perfectly crispy on the outside with all the classic flavors packed inside, and the cavatelli was rich, hearty, and flavorful--just what I needed. The quality at Jimmy's is consistently top-notch, whether you're dining in or taking it home. The staff is friendly, the ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are authentic. If you're craving Italian comfort food or something unique like the Reuben brick, this place is a must-visit.

I found this place on accident when in the area for an event. I made a wrong turn and this place appeared so glad it did. This is my new favorite place just wish it wasn't over an hour away. It is a marketplace, bakery, deli, cheese shop and eatery all in one of Italian specialties. You walk in and greeted but the most delicious looking case of cannoli and tiramisus. They also have a grab n go hot case, that has hot foods like pasta, pepperoni rolls, pizzas, subs. There is a salad station and counter to order paints, subs and dinners. Deli and cheese counter plus fresh made pastas. The frozen section offers these items to take home as well. I only wish we lived closer we could try more or take items home. I've been here 2 times since finding it and will be back for more. They have a whole side of the shop with tables to enjoy your items as well.

At Jimmys with Linda picking up the two Osso Bucco I ordered. But, I figured if they fell out of the car, I'd be sick. So made the snap decision to eat one. With the plates and plastic forkery they handed over. Seriously, the veg are cooked perfect, the seasoning has that taste that makes you think "where the #### do they purchase or how do they make this seasoning?" And those veg were just pretty fricking awesome, especially considering they were in a steam table. And the carrots were firm and the yellow squash was firm and the red peppers were perfectly cooked, and then it was all assembled. So all of the veg were perfect individually. And when I opened my container in the dining area they were still hot. Everything was hot. The mashed potatoes are yellow from the butter! And the pork shank itself is absolutely spot on couldn't be any better perfect. Oh, and it comes with some really rich thick gravy. But it ain't gravy, it's demi glacé and I have not had gravy this good in so long I forgot how good great gravy is. And then it was all placed in an aluminum tray, sealed, and wrapped with plastic wrap. .I could not make this. You may be able to, but why when you can order it at Jimmys Italian? And let me be really really emphatic about this. The pork shank was as advertised. One meal was more than enough for Linda and I. Easily. Two orders would feed a family. The shank was cooked perfectly. It was fat free. As in, your run of the mill pork hock will be loaded with fat and cartilage. In some dishes involving pork hock you enjoy the fat along with the meat. A lot of fat is lost, but you just suck down any fat you come across. Think crispy skin German or Austrian shchweineshaxen. Now, where osso bucco diverges is, no skin left on. Also it's a smaller hock. These were still an easy 1.5+ lbs. and it is braised usually, for a long time. And with the ones Jimmys prepared, totally I mean nearly 100% no fat, and not greasy AT ALL. The texture was perfect. We ate ours with plastic forks and knives on paper plates provided (Jimmys don't got table service) in the dining area. And cut servings off of the hock with that. And then poured the demi glacé that was packed in plastic cups with lids over the pork and the mashies. The mashed that were just buttery and perfect and scratch made and not over seasoned and not over whipped. Real potatoes. Jimmys does not do that instant potato shortcut type think with any of their meals. Or pies cakes cookies etc. and I still have that 2nd osso bucco meal packed and ready to open and eat. Sorry, this review is all over the place. I'm just stunned that the wife and I got stuffed on gourmet quality food for under $30. And I'm including the two cannoli. As an example, I love Vernon's and Alberinis. Mary's in New Castle. If I had gotten this at any of those restaurants, plated all pretty and served, $50 total before desert tip and wine. Oh, Jimmys has a nice wine selection too. Can't drink it in the place. Not like PA. But a big jug of Campbasso Is right there. For grandpa. Get yourself a nice Chianti. And a couple pastry. This place has sfogliatelle. Great sfogliatelle. If you live within 30 miles it's worth a drive. Especially when it gets nice and they open the patio. The tall metal fenced in patio in case you were wondering. And they also have one of the best Italian subs you can get, anywhere. They bake their own bread. It's got the best chew. And it's actually better than Mancini rolls. There are so many reasons to eat here, stop here, shop here, meet your friends here, play dominos on the piazza here. Just go here for a special like this was, or something on the regular menu. Pasta, greens, oriachette with greens. Pizza slices and salads. Just check the menu. Which doesn't tell you all the cookies and cakes and cheeses and wines and sauces and imported salame and cured hams this place has. I'm not even going back to spell check, just gonna post this puppy now and hope someone stops in and says "Are you kidding me? All this time and I never stopped in here at Jimmys?!?

I was not expecting to find Jersey level integrity at an Italian Deli in Ohio. Bravo! What do I mean by this? Well, on my first visit to Jimmy's, hanging right on the front door was a very good sign. Actually, it was a sad sign that announced escarole was not available at the moment, and Jimmy's was compelled to use frozen chopped spinach for their famous greens. 1) That's some incredible transparency right there. Did I say "Bravo!" because, Bravo!2) It show's that Jimmy's understands this is a serious enough issue for its clientele to post the information before you even enter the doors. Salud! But I came here as a pit stop on a road trip, and I would not be deterred. I strolled up to the sandwich counter, and got the pollo diavolo brick, and asked them to add some of those greens into the mix. Even with frozen chopped spinach, that extra 50 cents was money well spent. Bellissimo! My travel companion got the meatball sub and was very happy. We haven't found meatballs like this in the midwest. They may not have been Providence level meatballs, but that's a very high bar indeed. It happened to be an unseasonably warm day, so we took our sandwiches and sat in the sun on a stone bench by the parking lot. The outdoor dining patio was sensibly closed for the season. After the sandwich, we were compelled to venture back inside to check out the pastry case. The lobster tail was properly enormous, and could have easily been split by a family of four. What I already know for sure is that is going to be a regular spot for us when driving across Ohio, and I look forward to many happy returns.

A Youngstown hidden gem! Once they are sold out, that's it! Make sure you get there early! Our favorite is the brick, don't forget a side of sauce to dip it in!

This used to be a favorite to get things like the meatballs and deli meats. Lately, it seems too crowded and I purchased some antipasto salad and the cheese had mold on the edge of them. I called the store just to let them know and the lady was not to nice. You might as well go to Giant Eagle and get the same over prices items.
