Hotel Saxonburg - Dinning

Server was lovely. Food was great. Brussels Sprouts were outstanding, but should have been served with a serving spoon. I ordered hamburger on a plate, but it came with a bun. Wasted. (Also, even though we all ordered sandwiches, a basket of bead was brought to the table?!?)The food itself was served promptly and hot out of the kitchen.

I love the vibe of this place. I wish they had vegan options but the vegetarian offering was pretty good. I hear they have new membership since I last went a couple of months ago and that the dining area is beautiful. Also, there's a rumor that it's haunted so that is even more alluring and I'm looking forward to going back.

Atmosphere - Excellent! Set in a historic inn, the restaurant has a colonial dining feel. It has a very upscale yet casual vibe.Service - Very Good. Our server was very pleasant and attentive.Food - Very Good. There is a nice variety of meal options. I opted for a cup of New England Clam Chowder and the Pittsburgh Salad with grilled chicken. However, I declined to include the topping of French Fries. The soup was served hot and it was very good. The salad was fresh and the grilled chicken strips were tender and flavorful.Overall Value - Very Good. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and dine here. You will not regret it.

Three of us stopped for lunch on a Thursday and the place was fairly crowded. We were seated in the front room and provided a menu and a list of specials. There is a nice variety of salads and sandwiches. I settled on a Rachel, which I don't see often on menus and got a side of fries. We waited quite a while for our food, but when it arrived, it was presented well. The sandwich was filled with the perfect amount of items and was very tasty. The fries were very good and served nice and hot. Prices are a bit high, but I am guessing you pay for atmosphere.

A nice looking spot of long-standing. The service was friendly and efficient overall. The food is good, but not spectacular, and presentation could improve. It's priced a bit over quality delivered. It was okay, although I don't think I'd come much more often than infrequently.

Hmmm where did my previous review go. Well I will sum it up lousy drinks, food and service under new ownership. Just as the same as the other 1 star reviews said. And won't go back. What a shame for such a legendary place that used to be 5 stars for me.

We stopped for lunch today and found our waitress to be welcoming, pleasant and attentive. It was a comfortable setting and was well attended to. The food was amazing. The lobster bisque was the best we have ever had and we have tried it at numerous restarunats over the years. Nice menu selection for lunch that included a variety of different choices and appetizers . We look forward our next visit. Would definitely recommend.

Nothing enjoyable about dinner tonight at Hotel Saxonburg. We will never go back. I tried calling after we left to speak with the manager but she was so disrespectful and rude. She said that we took our food home so it had to be okay. We had a new waitress but she was not the problem. It took us 30 mins to get drinks, over an hour for salads after we asked for them. Almost 2 hours for our meals that then came out luke warm at best. The tables around us were never cleared, no soap in the bathroom, no locks on the stalls. They blamed homecoming but the kids were coming out as we went in. Oh and we were comped 2 drinks on a really expensive meal. Wow! We use to love it there.

Our party of 8 were ALL pleased with food, service and ambiance. We started at the bar while waiting for all parties to arrive. Our bartender was charming and helpful in giving us recommendations for dinner and appetizers. She was right! Our server was very pleasant and very attentive. everyone was pleased with their food. We will be going back! Especially for that LOBSTER BISQUE

Certainly not the Saxonburg Hotel. So disappointed with the food and service. Will not go back unless I see some great reviews. New ownership needs to step it up and bring it back to the wonderful restaurant it once was.
