Hard to find a good salad bar around anymore. Huge selection including salad, soup, nachos, bread and of course a nice dessert bar selection. Every time we visit our service is consistently good. Nice and friendly staff. The restaurant is clean and has a local Pittsburgh atmosphere with local sports and city pictures. Parking is convenient. It's located right on Route 22 In Murrysville. It's a good idea to go in hungry to save room for all the variety of flavors available. The flat iron steak and the crab cake dinner are two of my favorites. If you only order the salad bar by itself it's a great deal! Highly recommended. We'll return soon!

My family has been going to Hoss's for years. Like, to an excessive extent because it was always such a good value and high quality. My parents and I went last night and it was easily the most disappointing experience we've ever had a Hoss's in 40 years. The restaurant was not busy, so we were immediately served. Our waitress was not the problem- she was good! But we quickly found the Salad Bar was poorly maintained - no bread, soups were empty (broth only), chips and croutons stale, hot dips/sauces were dried out and crusty. Then, my parents both ordered the sirloin tips, medium. It took at least 45 minutes for them to come out to the point that they had finished salad/soup and were just sitting around waiting. When they finally did come out they were overdone to the point of being soo chewy. I've never seen the tips look so pathetic and dry. My dad said "I paid $19 for this?" The server offered to bring a new one, but we declined since we didn't have the time to wait another 45 minutes. Ultimately, she said she'd let her manager know and then gave us a discount. The manager never came over to speak with us or anything. This Hoss's seems poorly managed, and I hope they get things straightened out because it truly is one of our family's favorite value restaurants, but it may be awhile before we return.

4.5 stars. Hoss's is a casual restaurant chain that has most locations in Pennsylvania and one location in West Virginia. It is well-known for its steaks but also serves seafoods, chicken, sandwiches, etcetera. For over a decade, I have been a frequent customer of this Hoss's in Murrysville. Please see my attached photos for its menu in July 2024. As you can see, prices are reasonable. For example, their filet mignon costs roughly *half* the price of upscale steakhouses' filet mignons.During my most recent visit, our waitress made very friendly conversation and promptly took our order. My husband and I both ordered the 6-ounce filet mignon with one side and access to the salad bar for about $33. In addition, my husband ordered a crab cake for about $9. Both of our steaks were supposed to be cooked medium, and the chef cooked them properly. The crab cake was large and meaty. Our sides of mashed potatoes and a loaded baked potato tasted very good. The salad bar had different salads, soups, and desserts. We appreciated that the waitress gave us drink refills, promptly took our payment, and sincerely thanked us.

Something very nostalgic about an evening at Hoss'! Excellent service, salad bar just as I remember it from the pickled eggs to the peas to the ham cubes. The sides in there like the broccoli salad and potato salad were extra tasty this trip. French onion soup is still a solid broth. Bread and nacho bar just as I remember it growing up plus a queso option. Ordered the stuffed steak which was solid value for pricepoint. Desserts enjoyable. Chocolate option on the soft serve has been eliminated but I think I'll survive. Tasted just like my childhood! lol

Cleaver Cut Sirloin was about 35% gristle and that portion was not not edible. Rest of the streak was okay. When the server mentioned this to the manager he said that's just how those steaks are. Didn't even come out to tell me himself. Service was good. Baked potatoes and broccoli was fine just a bad steak and bad attitude from the manager.

We came here for lunch today with our family of seven and a few friends. We actually come here about once a month after church on Sundays. It is a go to spot! Our kids love the Buffet as do we. We've gotten things varying from chicken to steaks to burgers to shrimp, and everything is great. The ladies who serve the tables are also really nice and take good care of us. They set up tables to meet our needs and are just really sweet. They keep the Buffet stocked as well, it's just great general service! The restrooms are always clean and smell good. It's just a good atmosphere. No complaints! It does seem that it's a place that mostly old people go, and I think young people could find it could be something they like as well.

Hoss's is more than food; it is a lifestyle choice. You come here for the fun family friendly atmosphere. You come for the wood chandeliers that have not been updated since you were a kid. Oh the memories. The dining hall has probably not changed much since the last time you were here. There is a picture of the Steelers Super Bowl team from the 1975. Sure, there is now a modern flat screen TV above the fireplace. I don't know why the TV was not on. At the very least, they could have had reruns of NCIS on. The ambiance just has a Hossome feel. The salad bar does not have any of that hipster arugula. Nope, just lots of tasty iceberg lettuce and some kale. Is it organic? Who knows? Multiple varieties of salad dressing are suitable for all tastes. Please remember to take a new plate with each trip. The bread bar has changed a lot. There used to be many different kinds but today there was lukewarm garlic bread and some cinnamon bread. I miss the days of yore when the cinnamon bread had warm icing but we are in the middle of a pandemic, so I am not complaining.I had the whitefish sandwich. What is whitefish? I do not know. Maybe it is a compilation of several fishes. The filet itself was wafer thin, dry and hard as a rock. Some people may complain about this, but I just figured they overcooked it to be sure there were no germs -- safety first at Hoss's. It may not even be digestible so it may even serve as fiber substitute (didn't need that arugula anyway) Hoss's cares. It reminded me of those Gorton Fish fillets my mom used to make in the oven. It just felt like home. Was it awesome? NO. But it was Hossome. My whitefish sandwich was accompanied by onion rings. I choose to remember these. Let us not think about the bad times with the whitefish, but the good times of the onion rings. I could get behind these onion were tasty but the Ketchup was Hoss's, not Heinz. Listen, there is no ketchup but Heinz. Why would Hoss's do this? It was like they are punishing me.Capped the whole meal off with a sundae. Just vanilla ice dessert in this case. No chocolate. But they did have hot fudge and peanut butter sauce. No reason to go to dairy queen when this included in the salad bar.So to conclude, you come to Hoss's for the experience but not the food. It is a place where you are truly safe from avocado toast and kombucha. Step back into the 90s and enjoy those onion rings, just bring your own Heinz ketchup.

Hostess is a horrible, old, miserable woman. I get short staffed is a thing in restaurants, however it also doesn't give the right for some miserable old woman to be abrasive to customers before even seated. Hopefully this is not how the rest of the visit will be.

13 people sitting in the waiting area. Zero hostess. Gave it five minutes. Four customers left the queue. I looked over the divider and counted 12 clean, and open, tables within my limited view. Still no hostess. To the Chinese Buffet.
