Hollidaysburg Hometown Market

When you think of neighborhood market you can't get more neighborhood than this. This grocery is definitely tucked into the neighborhood. When I was told I was coming here I did not expect there to be a through street that was part of the parking lot. This place kind of gives you the nonconforming vibe. On all accounts it is a grocery store, but it plays by it's own rules. This place doesn't seem to rely on gimmick sales, there's really no need for that since they have a loyal customer base. It's always easier to walk to the local store than it is to drive to the super center up the highway.The only setback is that they don't have every single item you can think of. So if you want that expensive imported item, you will most likely have to make a trip elsewhere.

got a homemade hoagie today. so disappointed. we spent 10 dollars for a hoagie that was all bread. for a whole hoagie we got two small baggies of lettuse, and 1 almost nothing in it bag of onion and tomatoes. there might of been 4 very small chuncks of tomatoes, and a few onions, not even enough to put on 1/4 of hoagie, the lettuce didn't even go to half the hoagie. we use to make special trip to get a hoagie from hometown, the bread bun was thin and soft, the meat and cheese a hoagie, you could taste the meet over the bread. alot of lettuce, onion and tomatoes to fit the whole hoagie. all you tasted was bread. will never buy another one here again. its pretty bad when you don't even get enough of fill ins for your hoagie. you need to go back to the way hoagies were made about 2 yrs ago. i raved to others about these. this one, i wouldn't give it to anyone. its mostly all bread and i didn't pay 11 dollars to taste just bread, with hardly any lettuce, tomatoes or onions. that really topped this off.

This place is fantastic. The fresh meat is the best anywhere. The deli is excellent and they have great takeout meals. They are very helpful and will do anything for you. Good prices too .

Prices are the best in town. They don't have everything you may want but what they do have makes you come back for more. The deli is awesome but sometimes you have a lengthy wait. Not because the employees aren't doing their job, it's just that everybody stocks up while they are there.
