Pepperoni Rolls!

Went here over the holiday break with family. Casual, fun, and cheap -- recommend if you like bowling. Food: pizza is like cardboard, but they have the local specialty of pepperoni rolls which are surprisingly good considering it's a bowling alley. Beer: Yuengling on draft at a $1/cup -- soda was $1.30 tough call! How do they make money at these prices?

To be honest, I love bowling, and this place gets a lot of my business. However, it's very expensive if you go just during "regular" hours. I dropped just under $15 to rent shoes and bowl three games, when I could go on a Wednesday/Thursday night and do the same for $4.However, it's a nice, large venue with good service. I've never eaten the food. Beer is cheap.I've always viewed Hillview as a very well-maintained bowling alley.

Why are there not more decent bowling places in Westmoreland County? Stopped in here after trying Main Bowling Lanes (which was a little shadier and not as clean) and was pretty impressed. Bonus: Wednesday and Thursday nights, bowl for $1.25/game! It was definitely crowded when we went, but not enough that we had to wait for a lane. Food left something to be desired... but it's a bowling alley! What do you expect?

Hillview is always clean and neat. They have fairly decent lanes, this is where we have our bowling league. There are a few lanes that are notorious for having the balls get stuck, etc. though. The snack bar is a nice addition--lots of stuff for low prices. I usually get some popcorn and a coffee.

Love bowling, hate the workers. If you plan on going midnight bowling don't get your hopes up. As opposed to what their hours say my friends and I were turned away because they didn't want to do it that night. We've also had lanes quit working half way through a game and then instead of fixing the problem and letting us finish the game we were forced to quit and leave. There are two other alleys in the area and I'll be going there for now on.

I really used to like Hillview. That is, until my fiance called to find out what time their Thursday special started ($1.25 a game). He was told it started at 9 p.m. We get there at about 9:05 and are told, no, the special doesn't start until 9:30. So we decide we want to bowl so we go sit in their little snack bar and have some popcorn. At 9:30, we go and ask for a lane. The guy behind the counter tells us, with major attitude, that it will be another 15 minutes at least. I understand their leagues were finishing up, but there were AT LEAST ten open lanes. What a waste of my night! We should have gone to main bowl...never had a bad experience there and they let you start bowling while their leagues are finishing.
