Good tasting food, large helpings, satisfying. The parking area is recently paved, so watch out for icing. Very busy during Lent! The fish dinner is awesome. Get there early so you get a table.

First time to Hill House. Came highly recommended for homemade food, price and service. Located in an old house on top of a hill gives a unique parking lot - be prepared to use muscle to open your door or keep it from hitting the car next to it. Walking in is easy to want to turn around - lack of decorations or character- but you do immediately notice tables full of regulars and smiles. The wedding soup was noted as being awesome by my mother (who recommended to meet up here for lunch). The rolls are fresh, soft and homemade. The fish sandwich was large on a fresh hoagie bun-fair to say they made the bun there too. The topper with "steak" covered mashed potatoes. The portion size was large. I didn't taste it but got a thumbs up from my son. They had fresh baked pies which we took home to enjoy later. Nothing to look at but food was really good, portion size was large and had service with a smile.

This place has THE most authentic German food! One bit brought me back to my days living in Tier. Come to find out, the chief studied culinary school in Tier. If you are in search of the perfect German currywurst, weisswurst and beers, do not pass this place up!! This place will forever be on my list of must stops will in Big Bear.

Yelp has let me down. Normally I don't like posting reviews like this, but I need to be honest. I ordered the seafood combo, green beans, Mac n cheese, and peach pie. I was very underwhelmed to say the least. The food was served not, but very under seasoned. The service was good and everyone was friendly.
