Herb Brittner's Smokehouse has two locations--this one in Cranberry Township and another one in Zelienople. The business first opened in the 1940s and is family-owned. According to their website, they sell smoked meats (e.g., beef jerky, boneless ham, kielbasa, and bologna), beef sticks, bacons, cheeses, hotdogs, beef (e.g., NY strip, t-bone, and chuck roast), pork (e.g., baby-back ribs, pork chops, and ham loaf), and sausages. When my husband and I parked our vehicle in the parking lot, we had no idea where the store's front door was! We decided to enter the Baseball Card Castle store next door, and from there, we saw Herb Brittney's Smokehouse in a room to the right. I am not sure why these two stores share one entrance.Anyway, this Herb Brittney's Smokehouse contained a freezer of meats and some seafoods, a few refrigerated display cases of meats, and shelves of non-meats (e.g., seasonings, jams, and noodles). My husband had expected a larger selection of meats, so he chose nothing. I purchased some ham and bacon. Two employees promptly greeted us, rang up my purchase, and thanked me.My husband and I cooked and ate the ham and bacon at home, and we enjoyed their flavors very much.

I almost missed this small place. Connected to a card collecting store off of Rt 19, its easy to pass, but don't.Not ostentatious at all, they sell both ready to eat and need to be cooked meats from broad glass coolers. Everything is vacuum sealed and keeps well. Bacon, ham, beef jerky, rashers, meat sticks, canadian bacon, if its meaty, they have it there. Everything is sold by the pound and you can get bags as cheap as about $2.50. I tried some of their canadian bacon and smoked ham hoc along with some of their award winning jerky. Everything tasted good, great smokey flavors, good texture on the meats. Will definitely stop in again for a charcuterie plate base.
