First off. Let's just get this out of the way. It's bad chinese food. Not bad as in make-you-sick, but bad as in "American" chinese fold. It's the usual panda kind of stuff but has more variety. I ordered beef lo-mein and broccoli beef, sweet and sour chicken and a soda. The order came out quickly and it set me back $20. They take credit cards, but the server said he doesnt get to keep any tips. So dont bother leaving one if that's how things are gonna be. The food was really good as far as this kind of food goes. Nothing was over-salted or sickly sweet. They sweet and sour chicken was crispy and not over breaded, and the broccoli was fork tender and the beef not too chewy. Overall I would say this is a good "hey hun let's get some chinese" on a rainy weeknight kind of place. Will repeat. An appropriate 3 stars.

Extremely poor customer service. Very rude, inpatient and sarcastic. Slammed his hands down on the counter several times because he couldn't get me to add additional items that I did not want. Very dirty, outdated dining room. Ceiling tiles that are falling down, what I could see of the kitchen it appeared as though it has not been cleaned in a while. I would not recommend anyone to come here.

This place has the best cheese wontons. Seriously if you think you don't like cheese wontons, try them from here. Super crispy, bursting with filling, not too sweet. They are just phenomenal. The broccoli and beef and lo mein are also very good. We have never had a bad experience here.

Under new ownership after the previous owners retired. The food used to be very good, but just short of great, the downside was the place was absolutely disgusting and they tended to burn noodles and veggies a bit.I ordered today for the first time with new ownership and it was absolutely amazing, food was cooked using what seems to be the same recipes but with more care. Random pieces of char on veggies and noodles were gone leaving a VERY good flavor. I liked them before, and I REALLY like them now

Lo mein is very good. Fried rice was full of almost raw onion...yuck! Grill 'em first not last if you feel the need to put them in! Also they use the really small rice... I like mine made with big white rice. Hot and Sour soup was so vinegary we couldn't eat it. But the food was made fresh to order, which is always the best. As we live across the street, I'm sure we'll be back.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We ordered Pepper Steak and it smelled rotten. We also ordered chicken fried rice and it was absolutely horrible. Best thing was the fresh fortune cookies. The food was so bad we did not even eat it. We threw it all away in the garbage.

We wondered what it meant that half the staff was peering out the window as we drove up, then quickly scattered as we neared the entrance. We were the only ones dining in on a slow evening after Christmas. I will say the staff was very very friendly and the place was very clean. Service was fairly quick. My brother-in-law commented that you could judge a Chinese restaurant by their moo shu dishes. Unfortunately he announced this one was in the running for one of the worst. Our moo shu vegetable was heavy on cabbage, with little other veggies that we could tell. Happy Garden must love its cabbage as our spring rolls--which to their credit were quite substantial--were bursting with it, and not much else. I strongly suggest avoiding the cashew chicken...not only was it bland, it was very fatty with a gel-like substance in it. (We even decided against bringing it home to our dad, who likes practically everything.) The broccoli in garlic sauce with added tofu was the best of the bunch with the most flavor and a slightly spicy finish. My sisters remember coming here over 10 years ago, and we saw a steady stream of customers picking up take-out, so they must be doing something right to still be around. Next time we are visiting the folks in C-burg though, we will probably try one of the few other Chinese restaurants in town.

My go-to weekly game night takeout place!!! I've never had a bad thing from here and I've been ordering from them at least once a week for over a year now. They are also very accommodating for my food allergy.
