Great Wall Chinese Restaurant

Staff here is friendly. They serve your typical American Chinese with regional flavors. I am not a fan of this restaurant just because their flavors are bland for my taste. We have many options within 15 miles of here so they are low on the list but occasionally we will get something. If you have a craving for Chinese food I would look for the buffet 2 miles away. Better selection and food is usually prepared with more flavor.

What can you expect from a Chinese American take out joint in middle of Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland County, Pa.? About the same menu options and food quality as almost any other Chinese American joint anywhere else in North America. It's not authentic, and it's not creative, but it is edible and even adequate to satisfy a hungry man on a late Saturday night. The Wonton Soup was hot with genuine beef bouillon and thick skinned dumplings stuffed with dark ground semi-spicy meat food. The Scallion Pancakes tasted pretty good in the small pieces that arrived in the take out covered dish. It's overall oiliness was nothing that a paper towel could not sufficiently absorb. The BBQ Spare Ribs arrived off the bone with that typical red amber basting sauce. The taste was right, although the pork was a little tough; the better for heavy mastication. All that glory for under $12. Enough for 2 meals, or even 3 if I wanted to extend the experience for another day. Great Wall. Take a look at the friendly owner working behind the counter and taking the phone orders, and you know the real story of its success. Definitely, a world wonder.

My absolute favorite Chinese takeout in the area and even surrounding areas. We used to live close and now we live 40 minutes away from here and we still prefer to drive here rather than order from the places around us. They are always quick and efficient and the food is always the same consistent taste. I've never had a bad experience with any of my food here. It is always perfect. And the service matches the food!

Our go-to when we need a Chinese food fix. As far as I understand, they're the only one who delivers in Mount Pleasant (could be wrong). Pretty standard fare with good prices. They're fast and friendly and that's what makes them stand out!

Terrible service! Love the front lady that works there! She's amazing! However, when I called to order I got my order taken by a guy this time. I ordered general tso and SHRIMP lo mein. When I got home I had noticed my lo mein was plain. No shrimp, no veggies, just nasty noodles. I called just to get a solution. The same guy was very rude, I've never been talked to like that as a customer! Immediately being told I was wrong. No solution, nothing. Literally said "your fault you don't order right." Basically yelling at me on the phone. So I hung up and took the loss. Very disappointed. I ordered almost every Monday, will not be going back.

Food was OK. My only real complaint was that the lo mein was too fishy tasting. Watch the bill, though. I was overcharged by over $2. When I called later to question it, I got some lame explanation about a phantom $2 up-charge, which still didn't account for all of the discrepancy. I won't be back.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. I would give it 0 if I could. They gave me the wrong order. I didn't notice until I got home. I drove back 20 minutes to get the right food and they made me give the wrong order back. I hope that they didn't give it to someone else. That would be a major heath food violation. I will never order from there again.

We ordered a vegetable lo Mein and it was absolutely fantastic. It was freshly cooked and the spice mix was delicious. 5/5 I will go back here if I ever come back to mount pleasant.
