Cool spot that serves some pretty solid American food. Much like numerous of the places on Mt. Washington, this place is primarily known for the great views, and not necessarily the greatest food. Still, I quite enjoyed the food I got here. It was a reasonable price and the service was nice. I got to try out their fried cod sandwich with fries as well as the raspberry cheesecake. The fried cod sandwich certainly quite crispy. There seemed to be too much breading for the fish, in my opinion. Bit too oily, made with standard/forgettable bread, and quite basic. However, I will say I quite liked the creamy horseradish sauce it was served with. That was really good. The fries were quite standard. But, they did come in a good portion, were well salted, and cooked well too. So, no complaints there. The raspberry cheesecake was good, but seemed to be cut strangely (small piece that didn't have even sides). I doubt they make it in house, but it was still pretty good. Quite creamy, not much of a fresh raspberry taste though. It was alright. The service was solid but a bit awkward. The views are really why you come here. It is all in all a fine place, but just know the food isn't anything too special.

Our group of 6 had reservations for 4pm on a Saturday in the bar area for drinks. The bar staff were super friendly, quick to take our orders, and always working to clear our empty glasses and dishes. Someone ordered the pulled pork nachos and they were pretty tasty! The pork surprised me. It was juicy and smokey. The view from the outdoor seating area is unmatched, night or day. It's beautiful out there and in the colder months, they have the outdoor heaters going. It's worth noting that if you're at the bar area, you have a 2-flight walk up to get to the bathrooms. There's a chance you could find street parking, but if not, there's a lot across the street that's $12.

A staple of Mt Washington, the views are incredible, and the food/drink is amazing. They are on the lower level of Coal Hill Steakhouse. A semi-upscale bistro and bar offering brunch, lunch and dinner. They have three floors, Grandview on one offering indoor and outdoor seating options. They also have a large bar and high-top tables to relax and have a great experience. The scenic views of the city are absolutely breathtaking, and you can enjoy them while having a great meal. They feature meals prepped by an amazing kitchen staff and their waitstaff is extremely attentive and knowledgeable. Had the Fall Sangria- which comes in a large wine glass and is delicious and garnished with tons of fresh fruit. The Half Roasted Chicken was served with garlic mashed potatoes and bacon scallion brussel sprouts. Everything was cooked to perfection. The steak tacos come in an order of three, they're marinated in chipotle lime served on flour tortillas with cilantro, pickled onions and cotija cheese. Incredible flavor combination. The cream Tuscan pasta with chicken was one of my favorites! It is penne pasta with red pepper, sun dried tomatoes and spinach in a Parmesan cream sauce. Highly recommend checking out Grandview Saloon whether you're celebrating something or just need a night out- the food and views are like no other!

This was (hands down) the BEST lunch/dinner we've had in a loooonng time. Everything was fresh. French onion soup was so good my mom ate every scrap. Ribs were huge (sry my pics were not of how it was delivered to the table). Garlic mashed were real, creamy, and she even brought extra DRAWN butter! Pulled pork sandwich was loaded with pork. Mac and cheese was amazing. Server was very sweet and attentive. The view is breathtaking. I'm puzzled by the 3 stars (I never check til after we dine). The prices were absolutely reasonable!! (Please don't raise the prices cause I said this ). We will certainly be back for date night!!

So I don't know why this place is getting such a bad rap in the Yelp reviews. We are visiting Pittsburgh for a week and this was on our list after riding the incline up to MT Washington. We went there today and it was really good. The view was stupendous. The food and the service were excellent. Yes you could pay a little less going someplace else, but that view was worth every penny! On a nice day you just can't beat it! Heather, our waitress was awesome and a lot of fun to talk to.I had the garlic burger and I asked for medium rare and that's exactly what I got. My wife had the berry salad with chicken and she loved it. There was nothing left on our plates and we're pretty picky. So I don't want to discount other peoples experiences, but ours was excellent and we would go back in a heartbeat. Do yourself a favor and give it a chance.

We came here as an option with better choices for my daughter's 13th birthday with ten of her friends. View was awesome. The restaurant is smaller with a more casual feel in comparison to the other restaurants in Mt. Washington. The service was top notch. Our server and corresponding staff was really good. The food was just ok. It worked out well for us, because my daughter and her friends were able to order things like chicken fingers, French onion soup, and burgers. I got Steak Tacos, which were just ok and left me feeling hungry still. The two best parts of the meal were my wife's pulled pork nachos and the nice piece of cake my daughter got on the house for her birthday.

Five star view dampened by 2.5 star restaurant. I'll start with the positive by saying that the staff did their best in terms of the service experience. This place screams potential but the lack of investment screams louder It is truly unfair to customers that this place continues to operate as is. From the moment you walk in it's clear that the restaurant is depressingly outdated. The menu tries but doesn't deliver. This place should either sell or hire a consultant because the view alone deserves better in all categories. The pictures of the food I've posted do more justice than deserved.

Being that we finally had some good weather, we wanted to have a Sunday brunch somewhere that we could have good food and drink, along with a nice outside atmosphere. Grandview Saloon did not disappoint. The brunch was delicious. The service was superb and the patio was so relaxing on a beautiful Pittsburgh day. We will definitely be back.

We decided to pre-game before St. Patrick's Parade day. This place has the view many restaurants would die for. We showed up and went to the basement where the bar is located. We met friends who, like myself, traveled into the city for some shenanigans. I ordered a steak (medium-rare). It was over-cooked, but I ate it anyway because I was hungry. It had great flavor. The service was great. Our bartender was accommodating.

Their website advertises brunch. Show up at 12:30 on a Sunday: no brunch. Another group came in -- they were there to celebrate one woman's birthday. They looked at the menu, looked confused. Asked the waitress about brunch. She went to the kitchen and after a lonnnng absence came back and told those folks that they don't do brunch. Haven't had it in a while. Protip to restaurants: if you don't want your weekend middays to feature a steady stream of people asking about brunch, take the brunch menu off your website. We wound up ordering from the regular lunch menu. It was fine. Like: airport restaurant fine. This place is clearly coasting hard on the fact that it is right on the side of Mount Washington, and directly next to the Duquesne Incline. The food and the service aren't the draw.
