I'm not really sure what happened. I would run to Grandma Ann's for the Poppyseed Bread as often as I could. Craved the stuff. So did my wife. So did any guests that we had in for any occasion. Moist. Tender crumb. Loaded -- really loaded -- with poppyseed filling. Absolutely the best poppyseed bread/roll/kolache I ever ate. Then something happened. I'm not really sure what it was though. Back in May, I zoomed up the road to get a Grandma Ann poppyseed bread. No company coming. I was just craving some. Got it home, cut it and it was bone dry. Oh well. This had never happened before, so maybe just a bad day in the bakery. In June I went again. Couldn't wait. Brought it home and my wife and I couldn't believe it. Loaded with filling. Beautiful to look at. And again, bone dry and stale tasting. Happened again right after Independence Day. Then it happened again this past week. I was told that it had just been baked the day before. Impossible. Dry crumb. Stale tasting. I'm not sure what is happening at Grandma Ann's. What was once outrageously great is now consistently --four times in a row -- really bad. Did they change the recipe? I don't think so since the ingredient list is the same. Are they over baking it? Can't be. It's still too good to look at. Are they just now selling stale product? If so, at least have the decency to code date the stuff. Maybe it's the weather? But I'm pretty sure that accomplished bakers can handle that. Nope. I am not sure what happened. Other than I just ordered a gorgeous looking poppy seed roll to be shipped to me by a bakery in Youngstown Ohio.

Very good baked goods. Reminds me of what I used to have when I was younger. I especially love the apricot roll and the nut horns. A little pricey but worth it for the freshness and taste.

This tiny shop is a perfect stop for homemade bakery items. However, if you like to bake and are good at it, I don't really think this place can substitute. But that's just my opinion.Definitely worth it if you don't bake or are in a hurry and need something to bring to a gathering, to add to a cookie tray perhaps. Also good for gifts I'm sure.Prices are reasonable, considering it is homemade. I might return if I was in he area to pick up a different flavor to try. Got the regular nutroll today but I would like to try the raspberry jelly roll.

This place is amazing. It has everything, all made fresh and delicious. It has the taste of things, that remind me of good old fashioned home baked goodness. Every time I walk into the store, the smells hit my taste buds and I can't wait to eat all of their goodies. This is a must visit place.

Stopped and picked up 3 things. Pecan cranberry biscotti, nut horns and apricot horns. With the wealth of places around here that make biscotti I would judge these biscotti as less than average. Icing on biscotti masks the pecan and cranberry flavors. The apricot horns were dry (had they been refrigerated too long or frozen?) and seemed to have a slight taste of anise that had found its way in during the process. Probably the weakest of the three. The nut horns were the star and seemed worlds above the other two. Fresh and great flavor. Upon further inspection I notice that both the biscotti and apricot horns were made at a Bakery in McKees rocks called Theresa's. Grandma Ann's made the nut horns. My advice check the packages carefully and stick with the actual grandma Ann's stuff. Wish I had noticed that before buying.

Delicious nut bread. Just like my Grandma use to make. Great gifts for house warming and holidays. I have to buy one for everyone in my family at Christmas.

We stopped by Grandma Ann's Nut Bread shop today and found several goodies. The Nut Horns were absolutely fantastic! Pure deliciousness! We also purchased the Pumpkin bread and it was absolutely devine! We have a couple other items to try and can't wait! Definitely stop by this unique pastry/bread shop, there aren't many as tasty as this one! The gentleman was so kind and helped us pick out treats to take with us. We will for sure be ordering these items to be shipped to Cali! Enjoy!

Every time my wife is in Gibsonia, she comes back with nuthorns and nutroll. I grew up in a Polish-Hungarian household and know good food and desserts, cookies, rolls, etc. Grandma Ann's nuthorns are by far the best I've ever had - sorry mom! Their nutroll is pretty darn good as well. Highly recommend this place!
