A lovely spot for a Sunday brunch with an unbeatable view, inside and out! The architecture is incomparable to anything else you'll find in Pittsburgh. I'd recommend being the first reservation, it gets busy and fills up fast. I'd put my things down at the table, then grab your plates and enjoy your surroundings. As far as options go, they have a wide selection of sweet and savory falling under breakfast, lunch and dinner. As far as buffets go, it was pretty good! They had a nice balance of made to order versus plate and go. The one complaint I had was that nothing was labeled. It would be nice not to have to do detective work to figure out the options, but beyond that it's not great for anyone with a dietary restriction! My partner has a walnut allergy and another person in our group is vegetarian. It limited their experience, especially with the nut allergy and no labels on the desserts.

Came here to celebrate a special occasion with my family...what an intriguing old building and what they've done to the main station space to turn it into a dining space! Service was attentive and pleasant, but the food was more on the average side for what it was.Fresh bread came out to the table as we waited for our drinks to arrive, a basket of warm rolls and seeded crackers. We ordered a plate of calamari which came with a sweet chili sauce for dipping. The squid was breaded and fried with a slight crunch, and not chewy at all.For a main dish, I ordered the parmesan crusted snapper topped with shrimp and served with rice and three small asparagus. Although flaky, the fish could have used a bit more sauce and the rice had very little of the coconut ginger flavor that was promised.Ambiance wise, this spot will blow you away, the food...not so much.

I must say, I was quite disappointed at the brunch today. Been here many times over the years, but our last visit was probably half a year back (traveling, trying other options, etc). Our reservation was at noon, and we arrived and checked in ten minutes early. We were finally seated at 20 after 12. It took the server another 10 minutes to show up. The breakfast station was poorly attended, the food...blah unkept...the first coffee served was hardly warm, the server far more unseen than attentive. Quite frankly, I don't see any value in the brunch and I wonder if they've started gliding on their long-standing reputation than current merit (or lack thereof). It used to be great, but if today was any indication it may have sequed to "Let's cram in as many people as we can (and for goodness sake, this isn't Walmart people...they need a dress standard here!), not have enough staff to keep up with them, and still charge a premium because we seem to be getting away with it!"Some decent desserts...so there's that. And my second and third coffee was warmer, as I asked the server to make sure it was.I think we may be done here.

Our recent family celebration at the Grand Concourse was marred by subpar service.Despite the delicious food, the evening began poorly with the table being set for the wrong number of guests. The server corrected the setting but failed to remove the extra chair, creating unnecessary congestion.Furthermore, one of our drinks was initially forgotten and had to be requested again. The service continued to falter when our main courses arrived shortly after our salads, despite a significant wait between ordering. This resulted in a cramped table and an unpleasant dining experience. To add insult to injury, my father was served the wrong meal - prime rib instead of the steak he ordered.Despite his insistence, the server initially insisted he had ordered the prime rib. After a lengthy wait, the correct steak arrived, but unfortunately, it was not cooked to his preference. While mistakes can happen, we were deeply disappointed by the lack of apology or acknowledgment from the server. At a restaurant of this caliber, we expect both excellent food and impeccable service. We were unable to speak with a manager during our meal, so I am posting this review in the hopes that this feedback can be used to improve the service at the Grand Concourse. At a restaurant we that is considered fine dining, you expect expectional service or at least acknowledgement of mistakes.

I'd give the Grand Concourse 5 stars for the ambiance and experience, but only about 3 stars for the food. Some of the food was quite tasty, but some was fairly average to even below average (at one end, the salmon was quite tasty but on the other, the churros served at the chocolate fountain were unpalatable and extremely stale tasting). We sat in one of the side rooms but thankfully got a nice window seat and could look out toward the skyline. The best seats, albeit probably the loudest, would have been in the main hall with the grandest decor. There were many other side rooms that would definitely be less exciting spots to sit. It's just the luck of the draw. There is a LOT of variety at brunch, but the stations are spread out and some are located in areas you may not even realize they are. I'm glad our server chimed in with suggestions and let us know to explore one of the other rooms for homemade donuts and waffles. This is definitely a fun spot to get brunch with a unique experience. There is a variety of food that should suit just about everyone's tastes. That being said if you are looking for the best brunch food, you'd find better prepared dishes elsewhere.

Attended my first Thanksgiving buffet with a friend. They certainly know what they are doing. Our reservation was at 3:30 and it was bustling. We were seated within 20 minutes of our reservation time and had a great table with a view of Station Square and the river. Our server greeted us promptly and took our drink orders. I got a mojito which was very refreshing. The serving stations were abundant from salads to rolls to a carving station to the regular buffet line to desserts to a pasta station. Items included turkey, prime rib, shrimp, freshly made pumpkin donuts, among all the rest. Our server checked on us without us feeling rushed. It was a very worthwhile experience in a classic architectural building. Oh, and they have valet parking. I wish I had known beforehand to have saved us a walk from the parking garage.

Came here for a staff holiday lunch. They had one waitress handle a group of 20. They probably should've had one more waitress help, but perhaps they didn't have enough staff to do so.I had iced tea to drink and what they brought out look like light-sepia colored water. And it tasted like it too. Later in the meal between the time they served the entree and dessert, they brought us a refill, and the tea had actually had time to steep. I don't know why their tea wasn't done in time, but they never should've served us that tea. The dynamite snapper wasn't quite dynamite. It was OK and the crab meat was probably the best part of it. But again there was nothing dynamite about the fish. The sides were an uninspired and flavorless, mashed potatoes and green beans. The dessert look good, but I couldn't eat it because of my dairy intolerance. I brought it home from my girlfriend and she said it was good. A little disappointed in what used to be a really special place to have a meal.

First off, this place is stunning. I love the details and the historical touches. We started with the almond crusted baked Brie. Greta taste with the topping on the cheese. Loved it. I ordered the scallops with dynamite topping and hubby ordered the mahi mahi with the dynamite topping. Both our entrees were excellent. Sides were just ok but how great can you really make mashed potatoes and asparagus. Dessert we shared the bananas foster crème brûlée. It definitely was a unique taste, while I didn't love it, I also didn't hate it. Service was a little slow but we were in no rush.

We had the most delightful birthday lunch on Saturday at The Grand Concourse. Our waiter, Neil took the time to make sure everything was perfect. He did not rush us and was very knowledgeable about the food and the restaurant's history. Neil offered to take our picture and even provided us with a loaf of the restaurant's famous sour dough bread. If you are going to The Grand Concourse, ask for Neil, you won't be disappointed. The food and service were excellent.
