The pork shank and bread pudding were marvelous and the highlights of our evening! The shank was so unusually awesome because it was served surrounded in a lake of beans and greens which were packed with some heat. They were a perfect wow factor to the tender, fall off the pork! The bread pudding was fantastic, not your typical bland and soft wet version. I also had La Casa salad and also sangria which had a nice Malbec base. The salad was really not worth the add on. I almost forgot to mention that we had the chimmichurri flight as an app. Wasn't blown away by that but it was decent - glad it was half price for happy hour. Btw - This is perfectly located to visit here before a show at the Heinz Hall (catty corner) or the Benedum (one block walk). The last time we ate at this restaurant, it was still located in the strip. This has a level up dining atmosphere with servers and a bar. Server, Sarah, was great. We'll be back!

I Had some time before the opera and stopped by the Argentinian Grill--perfect location, right across the street! I grabbed a seat at the bar for happy hour, and it did not disappoint. The drinks were amazing, and the happy hour specials were seriously incredible.I ordered some food, and it was delicious--perfect bites to enjoy before the show. The atmosphere was super cozy and inviting, which made it a great spot to relax for about 40 minutes before heading to the opera. The only downside was the hostess, who was a bit rude and had an attitude I didn't love, but honestly, the great food, drinks, and vibe made up for it.If you're heading to the opera or just around the area, I'd definitely recommend this spot--especially during happy hour!

Really like Gaucho but I'm only giving 4 stars as they've taken a few rockstar items off their menu (please bring back the Arracherra Flank Steak!!)Recommendations: Provoletta or Camarones for appetizers. The Vacio house cut steak is chef's kiss, as is the Lomo but its significantly more expensive.Pro Tip: Get the Los Chimmis Con Tostado with your meal. This is all 4 of their homemade chimichurris. You can thank me later :) Also, adding the "carmies" (caramelized onions) to a steak is a great move. Finally, do yourself a favor and cut out of work early to make it to their happy hour (Tuesday 4-6pm, Wednesday through Friday 3-6pm). Half-price pequeños (appetizers) - bar seating only and $2.00 off drafts & wines by the glass - everywhere!

One last stranger in the world - Haley! We had such a great time at Gaucho today with Haley being such an upbeat and professional server. We all loved our beef dishes and the final flan dessert was totally amazing! Great vibes overall. We had just seen a movie at the Harris Theater and this last minute decision to come here was spot on. We hope to see you again.

FOOD & DRINKSRosemary Braised Beef Con Pan - The meat was alright. A bit more on the blander side. Since it was late, they had run out of the Ciabata Bread so I opted for a deconstructed version with a toast. The toast was pretty salty and oily in my opinion. The chips that came with it were crispy and good though!Iced Matcha Latte - Pretty decent! I didn't get anything to sweeten with it. The matcha was well dissolved and the flavor was good though a bit more on the milkier side.VIBES The place was super crowded on Friday evening. I came with a party of 8 and didn't have a reservation so we waited around 1.5 hours to be seated. They have upstairs seating as well as tables with swivel chairs and booths as well. Pretty loud and crowded. Lighting is on the dimmer side.SERVICE Service was great! Aside from there being no seating for waiting, when we were seated, everything came out relatively fast and our waitress was very personable!

The service at the upstairs bar was amazing. Great setting with music not so loud you couldn't talk. Chet was amazing and super helpful and patient with all our questions. We had the Provoletta as an app and it was amazing. Such unique flavors coming together. Vacío Steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. The Chimmi-Churr is perfection. A side of Papas Caseras satisfies the carb urge with delicious potatoes. Flan was a perfect dessert. Angel's Envy Private Gaucho Select, Bourbon was worth every penny.

Best steak in Pittsburgh in my opinion. Have to go with the ribeye. Other dishes here are solid but if you come here MUST get the ribeye. Chorizo is my favorite app by far. Corn is also very good. Empanadas are solid. A lot of the sides are just average like the roasted papas. Service is mostly solid. Definitely a fast paced place during busy dinner hours. Cook most things in that wood fired oven which looks amazing. Fan of the ambiance. Very open due to high ceilings.
