Gatsby Restaurant

We had a great time with Betty the waitress at Gatsbys last Saturday. We could tell the wait was going to be long so we sat back and enjoyed. I got the fried shrimp with fries and green beans. The green beans did not look or smell great and Betty immediately took them back. She ended up bringing some fries for the table! Everyone liked what they had and we would all go back for a dinner while at the casino.

The steak was really good the pizza is horrible. Service is slow, we never even got plates because sh forgot about it. And never brought me my condiments. I probably won't come back because of the service. Update: the pizza was so bad we had one slice and threw the rest in the trash

We got seated right away. Ordered. About 3 more tables were seated 10-15 minutes after us. We were still waiting on our food. Waitress comes out with two huge trays of food and everyone else got their food before us. We were the last ones to get it and the food was cold. Mozzarella sticks cold with a half of cup of shredded cheese dumped on them. My husband's fries and chicken sandwich were cold too. We didn't say anything because we didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for food. We would never eat there again.

Went to mountaineer for the first time, suggestion to eat at Gatsby and get the philly.First let me say that the hostess/supervisor was beyond rude, her name is Sam. She looked at us several times and ignored us for seating, once we got to the table we told our waitress that we knew what we wanted and ordered drinks and our entrées.After waiting 35 min, and with any offers for refills on drinks our subs came out. They were the saddest looking phillys I've ever ordered. It was more veg and cheese than meat. There was easily less than 3oz of meat on the sub and the buns were cold and wet and not juicy wet in a good way but wet like soggy gross.I would not recommend this place to anyone.

ALL YOU CAN EAT CRAB LEGS FOR $21.99? Someone wake me up from this amazing dream! I mean, it has to be a dream right? Step aside Red Lobster, Gatsby is gonna take it from here! Who can pass up that kinda deal? Certainly not Ray Ray! Oh, and you can bring the kiddos for only $9.95. Most restaurants located in a casino are a no go for families. BUT, they have made it so you can bypass the casino and come as a family if you wish. Came here to celebrate the big 2-1 for someone special in my life and this buffet was really the entire reason we came. We kept seeing the sign for this deal on the side of the highway in Akron and decided there was no better way to ring in the true measure of ones adulthood than to stuff our faces with crab legs and clarified butter. First, the service here was VERY good. Which, I have to say pleasantly surprised me. Plenty of staff and all of them very attentive. Full plates didn't stay long on the table and they were quick to refill drinks. Second, this place was also clean. Floors, tables, plates and the buffet line were well kept, not greasy and presentable. Kudos to you Gatsby staff!Now, onto the REAL reason you come to a buffet. The food! The crab legs are HUGE and are FRESH. Seriously, the wait in line is well worth it. This isn't some cheap crab that is gross and soggy. The clarified butter is also extremely good. Not the fake crap out of a big jug. The other food I tasted, however, was just ok. Nothing to write home to mom about. Average, run of the mill buffet food. EXCEPT for the pumpkin pie which was awesome! We will definitely be back for more of this Slap Yo Momma goodness!

A bit pricey for breakfast compared to other casinos I have been to. They only do brunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays - but I honestly prefer ordering off the menu anyway. The omelette and home fries were good, but again not exactly a bargain. Server was friendly and helpful. For me the endless, inescapable country music playing on popping speakers was really irritating. What did I expect at "mountain" casino...?

We have eaten here before and liked it, but this time was a disappointment. We waited to be seated until one of the bus ladies put down her tray to seat us. We should have gotten a salad, but the dinner was served and I had to ask what happened to the salad. The potato wasn't baked long enough; the chicken Alfredo was great, but I never got the spoon I requested so I could eat it easily, or a plate for the rib bones, or a wet cloth for sticky fingers.We liked the original Gatsby restaurant, but this one is trying to make a buffet area into an elegant dining experience...NOT!In the past, they do have a great breakfast...with good wait staff. Hopefully it still is, but we didn't take the chance this time.

For $13 you can't beat this breakfast buffet. Got a salad bar carved meats and your normal breakfast food and if you time in right so your there just before lunch . They open up the dessert bar also !

Located inside mountaineer casino. Service and food was very good. Only mistake server forgot to bring my salad. They were also out of the first 2 things my wife tried to order. (Reason for 3 stars) would have been more understandable if it had been later in the day, but they had only been open a couple of hours by then and they weren't all that busy.

I had the opportunity to meet the staff member Caralee while ordering some to-go food. She was super helpful and very kind. Keep up the great work and kindness!
