Deluxe Antipasta Salad was good
Bread was amazing!!! Get some. It's the Yeast you can do!
Philly steak on their own roll. It was delicious. I know because I ate the half the wife couldn't finish.
Lemon pepper cod with angel hair and green beans that I could have made a meal of on their own.
A big bite of cappelini in oil, touch of garlic, and some delicious mushrooms. A first for me. Great!
Lemon pepper cod w/green beans almandine and capellini with mushrooms. Got it two weeks ago and today and still great!
Wifey's salmon almandine (delicious) with greens and pilaf. I'd get it next time. Or anything on menu I'm thinking...
That is the best calamari I have ever had. When folks say "best", you know "one of the". But in this case, "the best calamari we ever had".
Salmon almandine on a bed of greens with perfectly seasoned rice pilaf. It was great.
Homestyle Wedding Soup didn't have Noods!
My cod loin with the angel hair, and haricot verte () . It looks great, and it tasted better!
The house made bread. Full stop. The kind you butter both sides and the edges. It was also kind of freaking great.
Yeasty bread brushed with butter, garlic and parmesan.
Shared the fettuccine alfredo.

Gallo's. Great food. Great service. And the ambiance was welcoming. I'm a jerk when it comes to food, I don't post what I think of the place if I don't like it. I don't believe in a lousy review anymore. I try to only post after I've had a good meal. And in Gallo's case, Linda and I had really good meals. I was a bit concerned about a couple of reviews. Hunh, it was like that? And you're Italian too? But... Gallo's menu online has a few kinds of fish. And the apps looked good too. Will my Sicilian wife let us eat there? Because she is like that too. Lot of folks are. The meal has to hit the sweet spot. Which is usually Sunday sauce cooked on one of those basement stoves for hours, along with a meat course, a soup course, a big plate of baked bread. And then Grandma passes, and now what? If you can still get that at home, I am seriously jealous. If you can remember and really want that kind of meal, Gallo's hit what we had like boom. Just freaking great! Wifey got the Salmon almandine with greens, rice pilaf, and wedding soup. I got cod loin. With angel hair in oil and garlic and mushrooms and I had never had pasta like this before. It was sooo good. And my veg was green beans almandine. And wedding soup. And this review isn't about how much Mrs. Lucido-Lehtonen and I loved the ###### #### out of our dinners. Or how I told the waitress we wanted a nice slow meal, and Kazmere (Like the Zeppelin song, kind of) just had that clock running perfect. We had a meal that came out hot. On warmed plates. Full of delicious food. It came with a warm loaf of some unbelievably great bread. That i buttered and had with the soup, the hot bowl of just delicious wedding soup full of greens (endive i think) and them there little meatballs. The stock was chicken-licious. Sorry, couldn't resist. We also had, before the mains came out, a plate of the best calamari I have ever had. And I've been to Italy. A few times. Aviano Air Base in Pordenone region specifically. Near Venice. So, while I'm definitely not a chef, and am not lucky enough to have been born Italian, I'm pretty sure I know the tastes and smells of the fare in that area. And this dinner at Gallo's was so darn good! So. Not going to go on about how perfectly prepared and plated the dinners were. Or how torqued I am at myself for not coming here earlier. And the waitress Kazmere being, like, perfect. What I am saying is, this food was great. I loved it The wife loved it. And she wasn't kidding because she was talking later that night about; when are we going back? My wife, who I can only get to go to an Italian restaurant if there is steak on the menu. Sorry, I mean salad. So I guess I am giving a solid YES to should I eat at Gallos again with the wife. Like I said, not a review. It was our experience here. And we enjoyed it immensely. Now, if someone could tell me where I can get cannelloni, with veal filling not cheese, I'd appreciate it.

New Castle Italian in a casual atmosphere with Rock Star service. There were about 20 of us arriving at 4:30p for dinner (many old people were amongst us, lol). The staff was amazing with taking orders, refilling drinks, clearing plates and drinking the food. Great job team! Thanks for hosting the family minus one!The bread was one of the best dang breads I've seen in a restaurant. It was crusty and soft and HOT AF at first which was awesome. No problem with the butter on that stuff. The Wedding Soup wasn't my favorite as there were no Pepe's in it. I don't know about you, but I prefer my Wedding Soup with Pepe Noods instead of just meatballs and greens. The broth was good, but put dat Pepe in there! The Deluxe Antipasta Salad was ok. The lettuce was a rough chop of iceberg and the meats just seemed like they were hormel out of a bag. Some of the other dinners I saw others order looked pretty good. I was just trying to have a light snack and my "snack" items were pretty filling.

Everything was delicious. We had salad, soup, pasta, ravioli, and chicken. The bread was hot, soft, and good size. I would take a photo, but it's gone. Haha The sauce is on the sweet side. Perfect for my family. I will definitely return.

The amore roma pizza was great and I'd get that again. The lasagne fell short for me. I'm used to meat in my lasagne for one thing and the filling just tasted like a ton of ricotta with a lot of dried parsley mixed in. Also I have to agree with another reviewer that their veggies taste like they came out of a frozen food bag. The manicotti and meatballs were good. The hot stuffed peppers also were disappointing - I make them much tastier so probably going forward will continue to order their pizza!

Food wasn't good. I picked my food up so there is t much to say service wise, but just know their spaghetti was bad. The spaghetti was all clumped together like it was kept in a fridge or pot too long and dried out. And the sauce was just slapped on top. Not to mention everything wasn't even moderately warm. I'm not picky but at least let the food be somewhat warm! If you want some pasta in new castle, save your money, tastebuds, and stomach by going to mangino's.

I'm a trained chef, not a cook, a chef and Italian, so I am especially picky about my food and almost never try Italian Restaurants when I can make the tastiest Italian food. My first visit I tried the Scampi Primavera, since Scampi is one of my favorites, I thought I would give it a go. The vegetables were from a frozen food bag of mixed vegetables I would bet you dollars to donuts that is a fact but I am speculating and can't be 100% sure. The flavor? What flavor? No garlic and if any was sauted in the order I had, it was scant or garlic powder or worse yet, garlic salt. A chef once threw a container of garlic salt at me for daring to pick it up and look at it. Just sayin. So, flavorless, hard and mushy veggies, how one does that is a mystery to me. The Tiramisu was outstanding and the coffee was weak. The bread, this seemed to me like some aweful pre made garlic bread one buys in a market premade and ready to pop in the oven. Just aweful texture and flavor. The server did a good job. My last visit, there will not be a third, I was running errands and thought I should give them a second chance, I rarely do with prior experiences with food venues. My choice was pasta with meatballs, a salad and I skipped the bread right outa the gate. No self respecting Italian, chef or not, would have served this meal to anyone. The marinara was tasteless with hints of Speghettios, I swear that is what my palet responded to as an assessment of the flavor complex or lack thereof. The meatballs, dear Lord, an insult to meatballs. How hard is it to make meatball? Lean ground beef, saute in onions, garlic, sesoned bread crumbs, parsley, S&P, an egg, some Pecorino Romano or Parmesan, fresh darn it, and parsley. THat is it, simple, roll, cook either on stovetop or in oven, drain fat and put in your marinara for an hour at minimum, serve over al dente pasta with a side of fresh Pecorino Romano. THis was awful, the salad was lettuce on a plate with a packet of some name brand salad dressing. How hard is it to make homemade Italian Dressing, I felt like grabbing an apron, going in the kitchen and ordering everyone to move aside and let me teach them basic cooking skills. I skipped a drink, desert and the coffee, left the waitress a good tip and let her know that was the poorest excuse for marinara and meatballs I had ever tasted short of my best friend who once served me pasta with ketchup as a joke. Whatever poor sods who think this place is an example of good italian food needs to get their taste buds tested or get the bar up ten notches to expectations. For Shame serving this under the guise of Italian Food. For Shame.
