Frankie's Extra Long

Just stopped in today and had a good experience! I had the hot sausage dog and got the meatball sub to go! The Prices were decently fair for the amount of food it is. I'll probably go back soon!

Simple but very good Hot sausage , meatball or hot dog with or without cooked onions, simply the bestI've been eating there for years now, they got it down to a science

We passed this place on our way to our place and decided to go back and have a foot long hot dog. It was Soo good! The bun fit the dog and they made it just like I like it with onions, yellow mustard, relish and some pickles. We also had the meatball sandwich. That was good but the hot dog stole the show! The ladies behind the counter were so nice and helpful! You can take out or eat in. They have a small area in the back to sit and eat.

This was one of my wife's childhood favorites. So we went to see if it still had that old thang. And to me it was really good. We both had the foot long and a hot sausage, both were hot fresh and well topped. Served up super quick at the counter and the staff was very pleasant. My only complaint was my hotdog bun was not as fresh as I expected with the amount of business that comes thru. I'd definitely comeback if I'm in the area.

When you order a meal that aligns perfectly with your craving at the moment, you end up with a winning combination. I really could kick myself for not getting here years ago, but will definitely be back to try some other options.The hot dog itself was perfectly crisp and hot inside, but it being a footlong, I was surprised that it came with a regular sized bun, which seriously restricted the amount of onions I received. It was still delicious, but the rub was that for 1 hot dog, 1 small bag of chips and a 20 ounce soda, my total was $11. Not significantly overpriced, but I was certainly still hungry afterwards.

Our recent trip to Pittsburgh took us on a little adventure through Lawrenceville and that's where we stumble upon Frankie's. We wanted to immediately visit because it reminded us of the restaurant in "The Bear." Staff was friendly and accommodating with Yinzer charm. We split a foot long with kraut. The lady serving offered to cut in half and add whatever condiments we each wanted as a topping. It's a no frills, old school, 'Burgh joint. Even with its trendy neighbors it's nice to see Frankie's still chugging along. Support local and go!

Small hole in the wall place, in Lawrenceville, which is in proximity to the fancy Giant Eagle Market Place storeBeen around 75 years, I don't know how I never heard of this place You can have anything you want, as long as it's a footlong I had mustard and relish, my nephew had the New York dog, brown mustard, onions and kraut I'm definitely getting the chili cheese woofer next time (sucks to be me, as I live Maryland, northwest of Baltimore)The two ladies working could NOT have been nicer, and one even cracked wise with a "that's what she said"Supposedly they have an actual parking lot, we just parked out front as the entire episode was less than 10 minutes Awesome sauce!!!!!

Genuinely good food and amazing service. So friendly and welcoming! At such a reasonable price, I highly recommend to come here if you want a good hot dog and some amazing service.

I come here every time I am in Pittsburgh. Old school place that serves the best tube meat around!!!! Staff are great!

No frills little slice of Pittsburgh history. I had the hot sausage, my son had the footling chili dog.We both loved it. My sandwich just melted in my mouth. Soft bun, great flavor. Really sweet ladies behind the counter, divey atmosphere (in the best way possible!) Sure, you could have a fancy frank up the street, but this place is worth a try if you like old-school authenticity. I'll definitely be back.Update 2023: this place still rocks. It rocks my socks off. Had the meatball hoagie for the first time, it was great. I will always crave the hot sausage, though. A meatball hoagie and two beers only cost $11.50(!!!!!!) I can't believe I'm not here all the time.
