I've been wanting to go here ever since I discovered how amazing their roast pork sandwich was through Insider Eats so we went on Saturday! The inside is super cute and there's a few two person tables in the front and plenty of more seating in the back. There's an iPad that you order and pay at and our food came out very quickly. The roast pork sandwich was just as good as I remembered (the pork is so tender and flavorful!) and the tres leches cake was rich but perfect for a hot day. The owner came out and chatted with us after she prepared our food and she was lovely to talk to! Also of note, the prices were incredibly reasonable and I got four things for myself (I'm not sorry) for about $20 even with tip. I took home about half of each empanada and ate them cold later because I was too lazy to use my air fryer and they were still delicious!

I ordered Uber eats for this meal right before they were closing. They were the only Puerto Rican place on the app!! I enjoyed it very much for my first time! The pork was flavorful and it was a good amount for under $9. It also came with rice and peas. The empanada was crispy and soft $3.75. I got a side of red beans $5 and I was a little disappointed because I was hoping it would be on the side but it was piled on top! No biggie I still ate everything. Also got a side of sweet plantains $5! It was cooked perfectly! I will definitely eat here again because they do have lunch specials I saw on the website!!

I've been wanting to try Puerto Rican cuisine for a while now, and there aren't too many options in Pittsburgh. When I saw Flavor of Puerto Rico was offering a $6 discount on an online ordering app, I was definitely interested. Tonight, I ordered the baked chicken sandwich, sweet plantains (maduros), a beef and cheese empanada, as well as a slice of tres leches. It was a lovely meal at a great price. The sandwich was simple, but very good. Their chicken is roasted perfectly, and incredibly tender. They give you a pretty good portion for the price, too. Pan de agua, or water bread, is homemade and soaks up the chicken juices. It's great! There's also a bit of cheese in this sandwich, which was a nice touch. This was my first time trying maduros, so I wasn't too sure what to expect other than a sweet flavor. These were definitely sweet, and they are generous with their side portions. Maduros are caramelized on the outside and quite soft on the inside. I'm not the biggest fan of maduros now that I know their flavor, but these were clearly expertly made and still worth trying. The empanadas (or pastellitos) are an absolute must try when you visit this place. I got the beef and cheese, which was sooo good! The ground beef is juicy and flavorful, while the crust is light and crunchy. I didn't find any cheese in this empanada, though.I was a fan of their tres leches. It was very well soaked and creamy. It's topped with a nice coating and a dusting of cinnamon (the cinnamon flavor is not very prominent). The dessert is not too heavy, either. I do wish the portion was a little bigger. All in all, this is a hidden gem in Mount Oliver. There are only a few Puerto Rican places in Pittsburgh, and this surely excellent food which seems quite authentic! Now they have a more consistent menu, too, instead of just daily specials. Definitely worth a try for anyone who's curious about Puerto Rican cuisine.

Nice little restaurant on the top of mount Washington. Very colorful and decorated restaurant. Tried a bunch of different food that was very tasty. Food was appropriately priced with good portions. Server was sweet too and contributed to the comfy ambiance.

So I Had the food delivered and it came promptly and well packaged. I debated on ordering from here but read most of the positive reviews with a couple bad ones. As we all know bad reviews could of just been a bad day.I received my food and I tried everyone's dish. The empanadas are okay. The shell was great but the filling was very basic not like you would find in authentic Puerto Rican empanada. Chicken empanada was basically left over pollo guisado and you could taste that freezer taste. The Beef was just that beef no onions, olives, peppers fresh herbs. Got the pan de agua with butter didn't realize it was going to be toasted but by the time I received it was pretty hard. Would be nice if it was Mallorca.Tostones were good still warm only gripe I have is it was doused in too much salt. Entrees so we got Bistec encebollado y PernilBistec encebollado I've never had it like this with braised beef. Its pan fried with sautéed onion extremely disappointing. The pernil usually you get a piece of chicharrón but not here. The pork itself was okay definitely didn't take me back to Puerto Rico. So we got one side of rice and beans since I was sure entrees came with anything but it did with rice. This is an embarrassment to even call your store flavor of Puerto Rico using uncle bens long grain rice. This was beyond horrible and the beans are absolutely not Puerto Rican either. I remember a review talking about the rice and I couldn't believe an establishment that claims they do Puerto Rican cuisine could mess up rice but they sure did. So if your looking for authentic Puerto Rican food this place is not it.

I just went there to try their vegan empanadas since that was the only options they have. Lentil empanadas was good. Wish there were more options.
