Falbo's Restaurant & Lounge

My father was in the nearby hospital and my mother, sister, and I were looking for somewhere in the area to eat since we aren't familiar with anything around here. We stumbled upon this place and given the rather emotional day we had, this place was pretty delightful. We all really enjoyed our food...for like a couple of days..the portions are huge (we love that..being big Italian girls) Many options to choose from on the menu as well. The parking situation was a little hard but we lucked out with a decent spot on the side of the building. (I imagine during peak hours parking might be an issue, so I'd go early)

It's been almost two years since my last review of this restaurant. Falbo's is still my favorite place for thin crust pizza and will remain my first choice, but I was a little disappointed with my most recent visit. My husband and I stopped in for the spaghetti special on Monday evening. The food was good, but the service was a little off. I understand that the offer of a daily special may make things a bit busier and bring out regular customers. First, we were told by a server to sit anywhere in the lower section of the dining room as the other was closed. There was only one table that had two chairs and it was in an awkward position under a tv and in the traffic area of the other tables. We sat down there and waited to get our menus and drinks. The two servers flew passed us while waiting on other people. The bartender came over and asked for our drink order and asked to take our order. We explained we hadn't seen the menu. He left and came back with menus. In the meantime, other people were coming in and were allowed to sit in the upper section. After looking at the menu, we told the bartender that we had decided on two orders of the spaghetti and meatball with side salads. Also I requested a serving of the cheesy garlic bread. The bartender said he would tell the kitchen and our food would be out shortly. He brought our drinks, then returned to the bar which is in a separate room entirely. So we waited. No one checked on us. After about 10 minutes of watching people who came in after us get seated in the roomier section and receive their food, I got a little annoyed. I don't care if they were "regulars" or not, I feel that if we came in before them, we should have been treated with more consideration. In the end, it took 20 minutes for us to be served two spaghetti specials with salads and cheesy garlic bread. The food was good, but we left disappointed. I will continue to order takeout from here, but as far as coming in to dine and have drinks, that is not an option. The interior could use an updated look and the lighting is very dark. Three stars because of the food and sentimental feeling I have for the place, or it would be definitely be two stars.

If you're looking for a great college beer bar, this is your place. Pat the bartender is awesome and will give you a free drink on your birthday. He even stays late and keeps the bar open for your 21st at midnight. However, the place is very outdated. The bathrooms are disgusting and the floors are always sticky and covered in popcorn. The food just doesn't seem very fresh and I wouldn't recommend it. Stick with the bar. 3 stars because Pat the owner is so great.

Love this place but was quite disappointed tonight. Our waitress seemed quite put out by us. Never got a refill on my wife or I drinks and had to go get our own box for her leftovers. My wife's dinner was outstanding and mine was dry and bland. Chicken was supposed to be grilled but seemed more baked or possibly even microwaved. We will be back just hope they get back up to their normal standards.

Food was awful. Salad bar wasn't terrible but not the freshest. Ordered a Chicken Pasta Meal... no chicken to be found in the dish. Was told the meal would be taken off the bill come to find out only $3.50 was taken off for the missing chicken. Steak and Crabcakes was not appetizing. Steak was tough and gray. Crabcakes were a frozen variety deep fried. Chicken Marsala had canned chicken. Will not go back. Was there with a large party, the staff did the best they could but were definitely overwhelmed.

Great pizza. Pie style crust. Best house Italian dressing. My wife's favorite wings. Ask for Justine. Awesome service and personality. Tony's Torture sauce is maybe 8/10 on heat scale. It's awesome that they play Italian dinner music. Great atmosphere.

The food here is average. But that's the highlight of Falbo's, average tasting food. What absolutely destroys this restaurant is the terrible service. It is so terrible that it actually became comical. I wanted to visit Falbo's because I remembered eating there as a child in the 1980's. I was excited to eat there when I was visiting Latrobe. I now live 1500 miles from there. It began when we walked in and we were told that we could sit anywhere. I saw a 6 top table in the corner. Before sitting there I asked if it was ok since we were only a party of 2. The waitress said, "you can sit anywhere except the top level." That was fine. So we sat at the 6 top table since it was on the lower level. We sat for about 10 min without any acknowledgment from the waitstaff. Then, another waitress said, "you are going to have to move because this is a reserved table." I told her we had already asked about sitting there and had received permission. She said we could absolutely not sit there because it was reserved for reservations. We got up and moved to another table. More than an hour later when we were finished and leaving, not one person had ever sat at that table. The waitress was rude and absolutely made it that I will never return. Picture of the "reserved" table is attached. Waitstaff is very inattentive. We waited long periods of time for drinks. We ordered a Chianti and then were told that they didn't have Chianti but had something "similar." I asked what the wine they had was. They didn't know. The pasta is cheap and the sauce is relatively tasteless. I would give FALBO'S a hard pass. Average food at best and terrible service.

Ok, went to eat their for dinner 3-7-21 and the Bartender Pat actually used the the quote "how the fuck would I know" when i asked him about the wings. True class. Why would you go there??

You have found the place for authentic Italian American comfort food. One of the finest marinara sauces in southwestern Pennsylvania. It is scratch made and reminds me of my family's Sunday gravy. The salads are made with the freshest of produce and the homemade house dressing is delicious; take home a bottle or two if you're not local. The staff and service are constantly spot on, in spite of these trying times. The atmosphere is simple, clean, and cozy. Falbo's is a locally owned and operated small business that consistently earns our business. Give them a try!
