I stopped by here this past Thursday night with my wife for dinner. Every other Thursday our neighborhood has food trucks come in and on this night it was Evil Swines turn. Since it is a food truck, there isn't too much to say about it other than it looked like your normal truck. Inside there were two workers, one taking your order and expediting with the other one cooking. Since this is a BBQ place, I am always interested in the meats they have available as well as the sauces. On this evening they had pulled pork and chicken for the meats and a single red sauce. The sauce ended up being self serve from a single bottle which pre-Covid probably wouldn't have been a big deal but was something that I definitely noticed. What did make this food truck different than many of the others that have visited our neighborhood is that they seemed to push out the food a lot quicker. For dinner on this evening I ultimately decided to have the chicken sandwich while my wife went with the pulled pork nachos. Our wait for our food was approximately 5 minutes and then our name was called, I grabbed some BBQ sauce and we headed home, food in hand. Whenever I tried my sandwich, I have to admit that I was somewhat disappointed. The chicken was fairly dry and I didn't get a smoky flavor from it and the bun wasn't toasted. Since the chicken was dry I dipped it into the bbq sauce and while it wasn't bad, it wouldn't have been my first choice if there were other options. My wife did seem to like her nachos a bit better and the pulled pork that I tried was definitely better than the chicken, so maybe I just picked poorly? The bottom line for me is that I probably wouldn't head back here again in the future. Nothing was bad per se, but the food didn't excite me and I can certainly get much better BBQ for the price in Pittsburgh.

Was at Nova Place and found out Evil Swine was set up. Was told they are usually there on Wednesday. It must be a hit because the line was a little long but worth it. Even though the food came out fast we were in line for about 30 minutes. Before we got to order they erased the chicken off of the white board menu. Had the pulled pork with cheddar and slaw with a side of Mac & Cheese. The pulled pork was very good...nice flavor with a little of the bbq smoke flavor and tender. The Mac was very good and it seemed to have just a tad of red pepper to give it a little heat to go with a creamy cheese. There are two bottles with sauce, a Alabama white that is very good with some spice and a red. If you are in the area, stop and try it out.

First time trying.. I ordered the pulled pork nachos $8.00 with Cheese, Sour Cream and Jalapenos and a side of Mac and Cheese $3.00. I didn't have to wait long for my order. I then went to the area where the sauces were on the left side of the truck. There are only two different types of bbq sauce - red and white. I asked for a little to-go container (little cup) to take some sauce with me because I didn't want my nachos to be soggy when I got back to work.. and was told they don't have any and to just put some in the corner of the container? These little cups are cheap too. I was surprised they didn't provide them. So I had to squirt the sauces in each corner of my container under my foil? Then I looked for napkins - no napkins? - provided on a bbq food truck!? This was a first. What was provided was little napkin inside plastic utensils that wasn't even suitable or large enough to wipe the mouth of a newborn baby. Arrived at work - excited and ready to enjoy my nachos and mac and cheese.. so opened the container of the nachos and was it was then I noticed the tiny portion size for $8.00 ? It was smaller than an appetizer portion even. There was a lot of extra room in the container. The red sauce was too sweet and the white sauce was a little better.. but it was hard to know for sure since there wasn't to-go containers.. they mixed together in my container. Onto the ... Mac and Cheese. .. the color was different.. lighter color yellow than expected.. but figured maybe different cheese was used.. but no that wasnt the case... it was very bland. I had to put salt n pepper on it-- still no good - then put some bbq sauce on it and was then edible. I wish I hadn't ordered and paid $3.00 for small side of bland mac n cheese. It was a below average lunch for $12.00 total. Luckily here was pizza left over from a meeting since I was still hungry.

Tried their truck in truck Park at Millvale. I ordered rack of ribs. It was cold and was underdone for my taste. Went to them and asked for another entree. I was treated royally and kindly. I got a pulled pork sandwich. The comfort you expect from that... 4 stars for the rib mishap 5 stars for treatment. Keep up the good work.(As i was writing this, a couple sitting next to me was also examining their rib and one of them was trying to decide whether to partake. Made me feel less fussy :) must be a matter of taste)

The food truck came to my work place up on Beaver Avenue. It was a nice treat for lunch. I got the pulled pork sandwich with Monterey cheese and put regular BBQ sauce on it. Was a very filling sandwich. Next time I think I'll try the nachos - which looked so delicious as well.

I have never been able to try this BBQ because it's actually not a food truck, it's a call ahead catering service that brings prepaid orders from days before to where they will be "to serve nobody that just walks up." So, I've tried to get them several times and somehow never end up on the right email, right list, and I'm not going to try to plan this truck for anything ever again.Good luck, with 2 mediocre reviews, honestly I don't have high hopes or will to put in the effort anymore anyway.

Cannot review the food...they set up to come to our company for lunch time. At 11:45 they closed up and then left stating there was not enough business. Lunchtime is at 12 noon...if you come for lunch and leave before lunchtime what do you think the outcome would be? A real shame they did this to the employees of the business and surrounding businesses who were depending on Evil Swine BBQ for lunch. A real disappointment

Today, 9/22 they were supposed to be in our neighborhood in the West Hills at 430pm. We have scheduled food trucks for the past couple of months in our plan and was looking forward to Evil Swine. We get tons of people at these events from our plan and the ones on either side of us every week. The food trucks we have had have sold out before the crowds were gone. Today the TWP was paving our streets and were to be done at 5pm. At 445pm the truck packed up and left!! Two guys there, the one said they had been there for 45 minutes and no one had showed up. It didnt start till 430 and it was now 445. They vendor was bitching about the road paving being done even tho we had informed them that morning that a road crew would be here and finishing up around 5pm. 99% of the people who come to our "Food Truck Tuesdays" walk to the event. There were about 10 to 12 guys on the road crew working who were looking forward to eating here also. These people were horribly RUDE and extremely unprofessional. Reading a few of the reviews here I would NOT patronize them no matter where they might be. We have had some outstanding vendors here over the past Tuesdays, maybe this was a good thing they left, the reviews aren't exactly epic! I dont think they'll get invited back! There are too many great food trucks (them not being one) to fill the vacancies.Evil Swine.....get over yourselves..... from the looks of the reviews, you might want to work on both your cooking (or lack of) skills and customer service. If you see them in a crowd of vendors....PASS THEM BY !!!!! Everything else is sure to be a better meal!!

I booked Evil Swine to come to our business for lunch today. We had a verbal agreement for them to stay from 11-1. At 11:45, they packed up and left because there wasn't enough business - who leaves a lunch service at 11:45? My suspicion is that they got a call to go somewhere more lucrative and left my employees as well as the other employees in the RIDC high and dry. Don't expect them to honor a commitment if you do business with them. As for the food, the people who managed to get served today reported that it was good at best, but other BBQ food trucks we've had out were much better.
