This place is so cute! We always see it on the way to and from Triple B so we finally decided to stop today. We were able to park right on the street. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger and My husband had the bacon burger. My daughter ordered the chicken tenders. You pick up your food right at the front counter. The burgers were so good. I would definitely order it again and again and AGAIN! There are plenty of tables to sit at and bathrooms. There is also a fenced in play space for kids making it super family friendly. Reasonable in pricing. Can't wait to stop here again!

My husband and I have been wanting to stop here for some time now. It didn't disappoint. We both ordered burgers and fries. The burgers were awesome! The fries were wonderful! They had seasoning on them and had an awesome taste. The only downfall was that we picked a freezing day to go here and even though they have their outside eating area covered with plastic siding right now, it was still cold lol. Nice and clean though.

We heard about this place via a local newspaper article and decide to give it a try.Cool little rail car building. Wasn't too keen on the "faux" wallpaper-like covering on the outside of the building. I was hoping for something a little more authentic. But still cool nonetheless. And your kids may like the "Minions" subtheme they have.Think of it as an upgrade to the Red Caboose located a little further south on Route 51. The Express has a covered pavilion with outdoor tables (including bathrooms!), "new" country music playing over a loudspeaker, and an outdoor TV screen that was (when we were there) showing a video as to how the development of the building came about. There's more picnic table and counter seating next to the restaurant building. The menu is pretty simple and the prices are reasonable. My go to sandwich is the Rail Dog - ¼ lb angus beef hot dog with sweet jalapeno spread, queso, and slices of jalapenos. Do yourself a favor - don't bastardize it with mustard, ketchup or anything else. Eat it as is. It is reaaalllllyyyyy good.We also had the BBQ Bacon Burger; again, it comes with its own sauce - also very good. I've had the Mushroom Burger - think I'll stick with the Rail Dog. Several times, we've ordered a side order of fries with cheese - the one time they forgot the cheese so I had to go back up, but no big deal. The fries were seasoned really well,...but for $2.75 with the cheese, we only wish there were more of them. Try it with the queso cheese. Finally, the milkshakes. We've had the strawberry shake, the cherry milkshake, and a seasonal pumpkin shake. All were fantastic! We needed a bigger straw for the strawberry and cherry shakes because the chunks of fruit kept getting stuck in the straw.Couple of things that we didn't like - hats off to the young lady cashier for wearing a mask when COVID was at its peak; more recently, the cook and current cashier wasn't wearing them. And, during a slow period at our initial visit, someone (whom we assume maybe was the owner), went and left some beautiful dogs out of a nearby building to "do their business" close by. So if you go, watch your step. No trace of the dogs on later visits.Biq question - would we go back? Absolutely! We have and we continue to every time we pass through Elizabeth. Food was good, people were nice, and it's a nice downtown atmosphere.

Nice little take out place that is in an old train car without the wheels/undercarriage. Small but nice menu. There are a few tables in from and a covered patio behind the diner with restrooms. Also, a small fire pit. Friendly people, delicious burger and a great place for a quick meal. My BBQ bacon burger was very good and a very large burger. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by and get yourself a tasty meal.

I stopped on a rainy afternoon but there were still a number of patrons. A couple of the owner's dogs wandered around, a Rottweiler and an Australian Shepherd, but they were well mannered and I'd rather have dogs around than pigeons any day.I had the mushroom bacon and pepper jack burger and fries with cheese on the side. The burger was nicely sized and everything was fresh. The fries were nicely seasoned and the cheese was a white queso (instead of like a nacho cheese) which was refreshing.I left full and felt I got good value for my $10 + tip.

This is a nice railroad themed addition to the area right off of 51 in downtown Elizabeth. They have an heated enclosed area in front of the rail car to place orders and they have a separate heated pavilion with four tables and bathrooms. Also, they have additional outdoor seating and a fire pit.We had the jumbo, deep fried Bavarian pretzel with quest. It was decent, but a little bland. The. Plus, we had the large cut fries loaded with cheese and bacon, which were very good. To top things off I had the mushroom, bacon pepper jack burger, which was also very good. I ate that burger, so fast I probably could've had another before realizing I was full. Lastly, as a pro tip, they have homemade hot sauce which is very approachable and delicious. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area or passing through.

Elizabeth Express has, in my opinion, one of the BEST burgers in the area, and the fries are excellent too. And the owners are friendly and welcoming, but I gave them 3 stars because they are never open past 6pm. I would stop here 2-3 times each week if I could (driving home from work) get to their location before 6pm. And, I understand not being open on Sundays, but I'm writing this review on Sunday wishing I could place an order.
