Elephant #8 Thai Taste

The best tasting food, in a great location and nicely appointed restaurant with friendly helpful service is what Elephant #8 Thai Taste in Slippery Rock, PA is all about. The wife and I think this is the best tasting, most authentic, Thai restaurant for 40 miles around. And the ambiance is friendly with great wait staff who are genuinely happy you are there. On this trip we got the Pad Thai with chicken, and I got the Chicken Larb (Larb Gai). Both had the full fresh flavor that sets Thai cuisine apart from Chinese. There is no greasy or oily flavor or texture. And having eaten Thai home cooking at friends homes while in the Air Force I can say the food at Elephant #8 is genuine tasting and delicious. Greatest food around! Hands down! Everytime I go I get something different, the Choices are incredible and the portions are huge! Can't beat the prices either! The staff is so kind and very friendly. It's very clean and cozy inside makes you feel relaxed and able to enjoy your meal.Highly recommend the Ramen, Crispy pineapple chicken and pineapple fried rice, all the sushi rolls, the garlic sauce is delightful! I could go on, something different every time and just as amazing!

Went with and on the recommendation of friends. Like me, they love Thai food, which by the way was simply outstanding. If spice I not your thing, don't be afraid of Thai food. Here, they make your dish to conform to the spice level you desire. None or zero to 10. I also had a chance to meet the owners, very nice people. The delightful lady running the place, very personable, checking on every table inquiring about the food and service. I let her know the food, selection and service was truly outstanding. For a small and quaint place, a must visit....

I visites the new location in Sharon: As a Sharonite I love the fact that our downtown is growing. This restaurant is going to be such an asset to the community I can already tell! I ordered take away for my mom and I, ordering the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, and the Pho. The pad kee mao was the perfect level of spicy where you could not stop eating it, even if you tried! My mom loved the Pad Thai as well! Though I didn't eat in the restaurant, the space was decorated beautifully and you could tell that the servers were attentive. Food is an amazing way to explore new cultures and if you are looking to try something new I highly recommend! I already know this is going to be my new favorite restaurant in the area, I had to go back 2 days later because I kept thinking about the pad kee mao! Go support this business please & get out of your comfort zone!

Great food, and cheerful service. We were passing through and pulled off the interstate and decided to grab a bite after filling up with gas. Found this on Yelps and we gave it try. Nice downtown area. If you like Thai, this is a place for you. They also have Sushi but we did not try it.

With every bite, I said how amazing this place was. I think my fiancé was tired of me saying it so much! It was our first time here. Very busy, but the staff works hard and well together. The owner came around to every table, making sure everyone was taken care of, as well as taking orders and delivering food as needed. She talks to every customer and makes you feel like te most important guest there! Despite how busy it was, service was fast!! It was beautiful and clean inside. The prices are fair, as they give you a great potion! We come to slippery rock often for dinner and this place has been on my radar for months now. I love thai food, my fiancé never really had it, but I finally got him to venture here. This place was authentic, the best Thai food I've ever had. I got the red curry with jasmine rice while my fiancé got the pineapple chicken with jasmine rice, and we started with the crab Rangoon appetizer. As full as I was, I had to finish it because I never wanted it to end!! I was dying to try a dessert but we were way too full! Next time. Just with our first experience here, this has already become my top 3 restaurants. I wish I could have tried one of everything on the menu. We will be back again and again... at least once a month, I don't think I can go without it that long!!!

We love Elephant #8!!!! We have been patronizing the Slippery Rock location for several years. We love Nina Gold and Koko. They are so kind and friendly as is the entire staff. We have been to the new location in Sharon four times. We love all the food especially the sushi. It's the best sushi I have ever had. So far, I have tried four kinds of sushi specialty rolls. I love all of them. I can't say enough about the authentic Thai food without MSG. I am allergic to MSG and I love that they don't use it. I highly recommend the curry, the crispy duck, the appetizers, the pad Thai, and the sushi. It's the best around and we are so lucky to have these two locations. They prepare better Thai food than I have had in Pittsburgh or Cleveland. Fantastic!!

Was up this way for work. Stopped here for dinner one night. Got Tilapia Pad Thai and Satay Chicken. The peanut sauce was ok. The chicken on the stick was very small pieces. The Tilapia was just laying on top of the pad thai and was flavorless. It was obvious it wasn't cooked with the dish. For the price, quality and quantity I wasn't impressed. It was just barely ok. I have had much better Thai food. The wait staff was nice enough and the inside/seating was ok. Parking was a bit of a pain. There is a lot behind the building to park in. I wouldn't stop back here.

Everything here is AWESOME!MUST TRY!!!As appetizer we had AWESOME Chicken Satay with peanut sauce!!!We had the Green Chicken Curry!!!Red Chicken Curry equally Great!!Everything was at Spicy #5 which was about medium, in my opinion.Just make it a point to try this place!YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!PS: order with brown rice!!!THAI DONUTS FOR DESSERT!!GREAT!
