We came in for a quick late lunch because we had an event that evening, but just needed something to tide us over. They didn't seem particularly busy at the time, but they do have a really big dining area it could've just looked like they weren't busy. We were a little bit disappointed with the service: we had to wait to get our server's attention a couple times to ask for napkins (we weren't given any) and for a couple drink refills. No other complaints. Our table ordered the carnitas lunch special, lunch fajitas and chicken burrito lunch special. The portions were pretty good. The lunch fajitas and chicken burrito lunch special were pretty good, but were a little on the salty side. For the carnitas lunch special, I expected a little bit more flavor, but it was still pretty good. If you ask for jalapenos, it'll cost you $1.75 for one. Just a heads up. lolWe had an okay experience: nothing too bad, nothing to rave about either. If we are ever in the area, we may come back and try other dishes though.

Came to the spot for lunch. The service was fast, everyone was friendly and the food was good. I got the ACP... the chicken was tender of rice and cheese sauce.

First time to this restaurant and I'm sure my lastStopped in for a quick Mexican food fixAnd it was fast , but the quality was nill ! Had a 12 Oz XX beer for $3.99 , and Super burrito (lunch special) for $8.99 . Ok , but the beef isn't n that burrito was obviously just thawed burger with no taste at all. Some red sauce on top of the gooey flour tortillas that is the only flavor in this meal.Very unsatisfactory.

First time here. My SO and I came from PA to check out food lion and were hungry and found this place. The reviews were good and it smelled amazing inside. The chips were cold but the salsa was really good so I was excited. I got a chicken taco & two flautas. One was beef tips the other chicken. And a chicken chimichanga. It was a meal deal to get one of each, no rice or beans though and only the chicken chimichanga had a cheese sauce on it. Which was the only thing that remotely had any flavor. Needless to say the chicken was gross. It was dry, flavorless and tasted like it was sitting in water all day. I was very upset. Nothing was seasoned! The beef tip filling was the same. Dry and no flavor. Where was the seasoning!? And why was it dry as a desert? It was awful. I even tried dumping the salsa on it. Nothing could save that meal except a trash can. My SO got a burrito and fries. The fries tasted like they just nuked them out of the freezer. It was horribly disappointing. The service was good but the food was not. We definitely won't be back. I don't think I've ever had food this bad. I barely ate it and didn't get a to go box. Please season your food and don't let it get dry. Could have nuked the chips a bit to take the stale out.

Great Mexican food, great service and very clean place to go to. You will enjoy there large plates of food!

I am from Arizona, so tamales are a Christmas-time tradition. I worked in Mexican restaurants in the southwest and lived in Mexico for a year. I stopped in this afternoon and ordered 4 tamales to go, when I found they were on the menu. Then I sat down and ordered 3 "Sidewalk Tacos" (like Street Tacos out west), with carne asada, cilantro and onion to eat there. The food was plentiful, tasty and quite authentic. The tacos were served with beans on the side and three saksa choices. I loved the tomatillo (green) salsa, but found the red salsa a little too sweet for my taste and lacking spice. Overall, very tasty and I will certainly be back! Thank you staff, for the excellent service and fast turnover. ​

Great food, good atmosphere, wonderful servers. Our favorite spot. The foo is always fast and delicious.

El Rey has amazing food. The service is great and the restaurant is super clean. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant if you like Mexican food.
