So this is actually not the name of the restaurant anymore. It is apparently under new ownership and is now called Los Tres Hermanos Mexican Food. The atmosphere lacks authenticity, feeling more like a classroom than a restaurant. However, the food made up for it. It was truly authentic, using salsa Verde and tortillas that were clearly made in house, and tasted unbelievably fresh. The service wasn't great either, and we had to motion for someone to come service our table several times. A very mixed experience, but very good food. The name definitely needs to be updated online.

Food was great, do recommend to come. The price of the taco is pretty cheap ($3 at this time) compared to all other places. Meat of asada was good, not salty. Tortillas amazing as they are handmade. Lots of meat on the taco of cabeza. Not photographed was the side of rice but that was not very good, it had too much garlic on it. Maybe it was a bad batch but I'm really particular with my rice. The red salsa which is of chile de árbol was spicy but did not have much taste to it other than the spiciness. The green salsa was good but not spicy. The inside was like any Mexican joint I've been to.

From every restaurant I have tried in Pittsburgh, El Paisano is the only truly authentic Mexican restaurant. It equals to the Grand Moon Palace Resorts in Cancun. For the number of reviews and location, the restaurant is not well known, but it seems anyone who steps in understands exactly how amazing the food is! I will say we saw a bug on our table shortly after we finished eating, which wasn't great, but for how great the food is, I'm not going to mark down points Food: 5/5Service: 5/5 Time to table: 19 minOverall: 5/5

Clean the place and learn how to keep items at proper temps. Oh, and get rid of the roaches that, according toes the Health Department, were too numerous to count. And those were the dead roaches! Fortunately, the Health Department closed it down until they really fix some things...but maybe let's not be too optimistic now.

A little hole in the wall where the Mexican locals go. Both of us ordered the green enchiladas, with rice and beans, they were delicious. The food is more authentic and closer to actual Mexican food than anything I've found in the eastern part of the country. Price is very reasonable and service is excellent. I'm definitely stopping by when in the area.

Great authentic mexican cuisine (from what does this gringo knows). Had the Tamiquena (pictured) & it was great. Burrito was also good. Worth crossing a river for!

This place reminds me of the simple, diner-style restaurants I frequented when I lived in Spain. You will find a lot of Mexican locals eating there, which I thought was a good sign when I entered my first time. The service is friendly and cordial and I have never felt rushed. It can be busy sometimes, but that's a sign of a good restaurant. If you are in the mood to try authentic foods in a very casual atmosphere, El Paisano is a great option.

*CASH ONLY*I was hesitant to try a place with just 12 reviews but from the minute I walked in to El Paisano it seemed very authentic. Seeing bunch of Hispanic folks eat lunch here was also very promising. I got tacos and burrito and loved everything including the salsas. Steak was not chewy at all which is my pet peeve. I will definitely be back to try other things.

Had the Green Chilaquiles and the Menudo both had great authentic Mexican flavor. The ambiance is nothing fancy but all the flavor is in the food. The Chile de árbol sauce was my favorite part although if you're not use to spicy sauces I would avoid it, as it is very spicy. My only complaint would be that there was only one server and she seemed overwhelmed by all the tables she had. We even witnessed a few tables leave for not being taken care of. Not the servers fault but they should definitely considering having more than one serves, especially on weekend.
