NIce place to get our Kosher taste on at Eighteen. My girl recommended us this nice and wonderful place since she is of Jewish heritage. I am proud to have had some good food here and good customer service. Its kind of a upscale family restaurant. Everyone come inside dressed nice. I love the Sushi, and Chicken Shawarma plates. It is pretty expensive and pricey here. So do not forget your wallet lol. But the food and drinks are outstanding.

I have to start off by saying I am not a big fan of sushi. It was my wife's 60th birthday and we had a suprise party and ordered sushi from Eighteen.I found the cost of $130 to be totally outrageous for 3 little trays of sushi.I have to state since I do not eat sushi I have no clue as tot he cost.I do have to say that $130 seems extremely, mely high. The staff where friendly but extremely slow and disorganized.Getting different dips and sauces was a real chore. We left there with almost no and when my daughter and I got to the car my other daughter complained that there was no eel sauce and no some other type of sauce.Overall I was extremely dissatisfied with the service.I tried a few pieces of sushi and it was ok.I will give it 3 stars as i do not know what sushi costs.as far as the serve they deserve 2 stars.I could not be paid to go back there again.

Kosher restaurants usually have to be graded on a curve, especially in this case because you only have two options in Pittsburgh. Staff are friendly and accommodating, including of little children. Their hours are apparently unreliable -- sometimes they are just not open -- but we were in luck and our dinner reservation worked out. The restaurant is classy looking, and food is presented in an attractive and stylish fashion. The big hit here seems to be the sushi; my spicy salmon was quite good. There are a lot of specialty rolls that are really expensive, but again, where is a kosher eater going to get sushi otherwise? The shakshuka was heavy on a traditional spice that my mom didn't care for by my wife did, so that seems to be a recommend. The cod cakes were almost all bread filler, with fish flavoring. The soup of the day, a New England fish chowder, was not creamy, so the title seemed a misnomer. The Caesar dressing for salad was not to my tastes, but it is homemade. It may seem strange to me for lacking a key ingredient - Worcester sauce - which my wife suspects doesn't come kosher. My daughter devoured the special cheese ravioli; they were more like pierogis, but clearly very tasty. We will definitely hit this restaurant with my orthodox family again, and I will focus on sushi next time. That may lead to a higher-starred review when I do.

Kosher in the house!!! whoooo hooook with that being typedyou will have three types of customers here in the great city of Pittsburghone will be those that keep them selves strictly kosher and if that is the case you are going to LOVE eighteen (its eclectic dairy and sushi)two you will be in the need of a kosher (insert here parent child friend) and they need to eat kosher. Three would be the person that just does not know but no worries if you chose to eat here you will be pleasantly surprised at how tasty good kosher is so don't be scared go try. located on Murray ave parking can sometimes be a challenge its all meteredinside its very calming white table clothes & a candle on each table it reminds me of a row house as seating is in a long row except for a little section that has 4 tables I have visited a few times the last visit the place was really hopping on a Tuesday night (because they keep some different hours I would recommend calling before going) on a prior visit Sushi chef was out for Chinese New YearMenu has lots of sushi offerings from rolls to full sashimi dinners to me that is what a love about this place. My caterpillar roll was very tasty. I love sushi.they also have pastas such as Alfredo salmons as a meal and for lunch fare they have salads and sandwiches one I have tried the beet reuben its a very cool concept but you must like beets I love beets but they were so generous with the beets I took a few off.One visit I asked for ice tea which they did not have fresh BUT the waitress said no worries she made me a refreshing mint tea fresh from tea bagswe have had their Cesar salad its nice and fresh and simpleanother thing to give a try is shakshuka its a spicy egg dish made with harissa ah the chocolate torte was very yum and my daughter said yup this is really nice.service at eighteen has always been very friendly and with a smilethough at times it can be a bit slow....prices if your not used to eating at a good kosher place might seem a bit high it goes with the territory.

Unfortunately, Cafe 18 has been emailing out a lot of spam in the Pittsburgh area in recent weeks, and they didn't stop when asked. I'm avoiding this place.

This place was great! Split the steak sandwich and pastrami burger with a friend and we loved them both. Being use to NY restaurants, this one was better than most kosher restaurants in NY. Very friendly staff and quick turnaround. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm visiting Pittsburgh!

I personally do not eat Kosher, so I've always dreaded bland/expensive/limited choices when we do (have) to eat out Kosher. NOT ANYMORE!We have eaten here a couple of times since the new ownership. Without "needing" to...And yum! Honestly some of the best sushi I've ever had (rice was perfectly seasoned/sticky and not to heavily rolled, as well as the magnificent soup! Fantastic soups! The rest of the menu we've tried has been good to very good to great to fantastic!Nice choices, prices slightly high but not unreasonable and a nice eclectic menu. My only criticism and/or suggests would be:1.) we came with young grandkids and there is not a kids menu at all. Add meatballs (or "meatballs"/nuggets (or "nuggets") or something that could be cheaper for and better received by the littlest ones. Although the 3 year old devoured the fries and licked the plate of my coleslaw. 2.) As delicious as everything we tried has been, as lovely as the help was, as nice as it is to have good wine available with the meal, as beautifully presented as everything was.. it's still a very very very long wait for food. Speed it up a bit.

Our family has been a patron of Cafe Eighteen for a couple of years now, and we are continually impressed by their attention to detail and the care they put into our orders, whether dining in or taking out. The staff is extremely pleasant and accomodating. There are many options on the menu. Its always a special treat dining at Cafe Eighteen!

This place is great! The roasted carrot pepper soup was delicious. Next, the salmon with veggies was outstanding and the spices were awesome. It's a relaxed atmosphere and I'm looking forward to my next visit!
