We went specifically for the apple fritters which I hadn't had for at least 30 years. They did not disappoint. They tasted exactly the same as it remembered and were delicious! The people who work here are really nice and it was very nice to be back in this chain after so long. It's hard to believe more locations haven't survived.

The usual finish to our road trips is a stop at Cracker Barrel. Getting close to lunch time travelling on I-80, we didn't have a lot of choices, but I remembered my Yelp buddy Eloy had gone through this area not too long ago and recommended Dutch Pantry. It is an easy exit off the highway ramp and I probably could have coasted right into the parking lot. When you enter, you're greeted by all the kitschy country general store knickknacks you would see at a Cracker Barrel and the smell of down home cooking.Comfort food is where it's at. I love Meat Loaf and this is done right, 3 thick meaty slices and heavy on the gravy. I made a nice meat loaf sandwich with the warm soft rolls and sopped up the brown gravy with it. You get your choice of 2 sides and for me, I had string beans & corn, nothing special you can't get out of a can. My wife got the Country Fried Steak which was nicely breaded and crispy deep fried. For sides, she got Cole Slaw and Bread Dressing. The slaw looked like it went through a blender. The bread dressing is basically bread stuffing with white gravy and was pretty tasty. If you left room for dessert, definitely get the Apple Fritters, a local favorite. Deep fried balls of batter with bits of apple and a blizzard of powdered sugar cannot be beat at $1.99 for an order of 3. Maybe I should have just gotten the Dutch Dozen (13) and just had that for lunch and ride out the sugar high the whole way home.

My husband's quote: "this food feels good in my stomach", "that's the best on the road meal that I've ever had". He had the Slow-roasted Turkey dinner with a bread pudding for dessert. My quote as told tour server, Simon: "you could eat this without teeth"! I had the Slow-cooked Pot Roast. When I asked Simon to pick between two choices without hesitation, he said pot roast. He then went on to explain that they kept a pot of it going from the beginning of the day so that by the evening (when we were there) the meat was incredibly tender. He wasn't kidding! It came as a pile on the plate and I was afraid that it would be too dense. It's amazing how easily beef is to eat when you don't have to chew it a lot. We both cleaned our plates. That is very unusual for me. Perfect portions. It will be hard not to stop every time we're coming home from a trip. But it's nice to know where to get home-style comfort food when we're on the road.

Our waitress was so friendly and helpful. My kids said she was the best waitress we've ever had. My salad was large and fresh. My daughter liked her burger and fries. My husband said his chili was great. We all liked the shoo fly pie! It is a cozy place with fun decor.

I was ignored for 10 minutes before I was seated and then waited another 10 seated at a table while people behind me orders were taken. I was never even given water. Small groups not welcomed.

We've never heard of this place but only two locations now exist in PA. Situated in Clearfield, it's reminiscent of Cracker Barrel with its rustic wall hangings, market with vintage style candies and other items. Upon arriving inside for lunch, my partner's family and I entered a small gift shop with country kitchen ideas. Our server was Leah. As a starter, some of us began with a small cup of their hearty ham and bean soup and corn fritters. As our meal, we ordered some garden veggie burger topped with sautéedmushrooms, melted Swiss, lettuce, and tomato on a grilled brioche accompanied with French fries, their homemade meatloaf consisting of lean ground beef and seasonings; served over bread dressing andtopped with brown gravy, hot homemade style Turkey sandwich with roasted turkey servedover thick sliced bread, topped with gravy served with mashed potatoes and a side of creamy cole slaw, and their club sandwich served with over roasted turkey with fries. The food was well seasoned home cooking comfort. Their fries served hot and very crispy. Some of us even had room for desserts and got their hot apple fritters consisting a blend of apple chips and their special donutbatter, deep fried to a golden brown & rolled in powdered sugar, their Shoo Fly pie with blend of molasses, brown sugar, eggs, and flour with a crumb topping & the homemade peanut butter pie. We had better fritters at other places as they uses a cake donuts rather than a raised donuts. All in all, the food was delicious, the staff so very kind, the service was excellent, and can't beat the price. We can recommend this place.

We came to Dutch Pantry Family Restaurant for breakfast and we will come back if and when in the area. The special of the morning was chicken fried steak with eggs, potatoes and choice of bread; not bad for the price. The service was friendly. The place has a variety of candies and candles along with other miscellaneous items for sale. The ambiance has a true local feel to it. Enjoy :)

Good for the older crowd. Not the right fit for our young family. Lots of old-fashioned dishes
